It was pouring down when Xia had chosen that she should be heading home from the bar she had been at. She was simply lucky that she could use her air magic to keep the rain from ever touching her, except for whenever she stepped in a puddle in the alley. She did everything she could to not step in a puddle since her shoes didn’t cover her feet that much. She had chosen a path she had walked plenty of times before ever since she had moved to Aston. She was comfortable in this route and was certain that she would walk it in her sleep.
With sore feet and legs, she walked down the slightly dark alley, minding herself, not caring much for the homeless man sleeping against a container or how a rat was about to use the man as a stair to get into the container. A few alleys down, and she suddenly noticed someone who stepped out from having leaned against something. Almost as if they had been hiding. At first, she simply continued her walk, but the closer she got, the more she could see that the person in front of her seemed to be heading towards her, and not past her. If she didn’t change her path, they would end up walking straight into each other, so she changed her route and took the nearest alley down. Unknown alleys where she didn’t know each and every corner. Shit.
The person behind her revealed its voice, calling her species, almost begging her to stop right where she was. She increased her pace, focusing more on her surroundings and less on keeping her feet dry. She neared a corner where she could turn, and hopefully, get back on her own path, and just to be certain, she looked over her shoulder. It damned her because the creature which had followed her ordered her to stand still with compulsion. So, she did. Her heart was picking up speed and she was certain that she could feel cold sweat gliding down her back. As the creature got closer, features started to show, telling her that it was a vampire. The black veins, bright eyes, and of course the skin puncturing fangs. “Let me go,” she said, still not moving a muscle as he got closer.

The vampire ran past her, and she could hear how someone was bitten. How in the world had a vampire chosen someone else compared to a fairy? Well, of course, the bloodsucking bastards could be greedy and want the biggest threat first and save her for later. She guessed that had been the reason since she knew her blood was kind of a delicacy. She heard how someone fell to the ground and closed her eyes, fearing that it was the person behind her that had been emptied for blood. When she heard how bones were being broken behind her, the compulsion let go and she could move her body again. She turned around and noticed how the person who had been bitten had made sure that the vampire was out of its game for now. The man fell to the ground which was like a mental slap that made her hurry over to him. “Oh lord. Fudge,” she cursed as she kneeled down next to him. She could smell his alcohol off him, which made her furrow her brows a little. “Hi mate,” she introduced herself, going through any first aid she knew. “My name is Xia and I’ll make sure you’ll be okay, hm?” she said nodding. Her wind magic made sure that he wasn’t getting more soaked than he already was. “We need to call an ambulance,” she said and placed a hand on top of his told hold the pressure against his neck. She looked at her small handbag and opened it to fish up her phone to dial an ambulance unless he told her no.

“What?” she said quite surprised of the first thing he asked of her. A stick so they could kill the vampire. “N-no I don’t have a stick,” she replied. She helped him get to sit up. She canceled the call and put her phone away. “Okay, no ambulance,” she said, even though she didn’t like the thought of it that much. A nod was given as he presented himself. Hunter. Almost a comical name for him if he seemingly was a hunter for vampires. When he suddenly tried to get up, her eyes widened in a slight panic. The man had just fallen to the ground and now he suddenly wanted to stand up again? She was quick to get onto her feet again and tried her best to support him.
He tried to convince her that they had to make sure the beast didn’t come back. “No, I-,” she looked down at the vampire, “I would rather have we tend your wounds immediately than waste precious time killing someone, who probably has a family somewhere,” she said and tried to make him see the problem in killing someone, even though they had hurt someone. “Please, let us just go, okay?” she said to him and tried her best to pull him with her in the direction she believed was the right direction.

Xia opened her mouth wanting to say something, but it took a while before words came from him. “Are you certain the vampire didn’t just want a little satisfaction? You don’t know if he would kill any of us,” she tried to convince him. “If his purpose was to kill me, I would already have been dead, don’t you think?” she thought out loud. After all, a girl like her would have no idea how to defend herself against a vampire except for the use of her ability. “You know, I once read that cats play with their food, cause it increases adrenaline, and adrenaline makes meat and blood sweeter for the cats… I think it’s the same for vampires. They don’t want to kill their prey, because a live, frightened victim is so much better,” she said and pulled a small smile. It was an odd fact she had.

They arrived at a hotel. Quite sketchy, but she didn’t know the man’s purpose in Athena after all. She nodded when he mentioned where it was and followed him up to his room. She made sure to follow him all the way into the living room so he could sit down. “Oh, jee-…” she hissed underneath her breath. She had gotten blood on her dress and most of the hotel room was quite light. “I’ll just find a towel to cover up the sofa, then the first aid kit, alright?” she said backing away from him, to be certain that he was alright a moment longer.
She was quick to turn around and find the toilet where she grabbed one of the white towels and on her way back, she found the red back with the white cross on it. She hurried back to him and laid the towel on the backrest of the couch. She put the bag between them and started to open it. She nodded a little as she looked at what the kit consisted of. She was quick to put on the gloves that were in the bag and opened one of the cleansing wipes. When the wipe was out of the small container she looked up at him. “Sorry, I’m getting a little close,” she warned him before she stood up, walked directly in front of him and leaned close. Her long hair spilled down the side while she looked towards where his hand was. She glanced up at him, “Move it,” she told him.

He flinched as she tried to clean it, and her hazel eyes looked at him shortly. “Happy thoughts,” she tried to guide him, even though she had no idea if it would help or not. With her free gloved hand, she grabbed onto his jaw and angled his head a little so she could see better. “It could be worse,” she said glancing up at him shortly with a smile. She then placed the wipe on top of his throat and placed her hand above it while she looked into the bag. She grabbed onto a sealed plastic envelope and handed it to him, “Can you rip this open?” she wondered with a soft voice. When he had done that, she would take the cotton pad out and replace the wipe with it. Shortly after, she had made sure to tape it to him, so it didn’t move out of place. She leaned away with bloody gloves and the bloody wipe, taking the gloves off like a professional. Shen then found some bandages and removed the metal clip. Her eyes looked up at him as she rolled some of it out. “Just for good measure, ‘kay?” she said with a slightly crooked smile.
With the bandage in her hand, she placed a leg on each side of him and sat on his lap, just to make it easier for her to reach around. With ease, she started to trap the bandages around him, so the tape wouldn’t catch onto his clothing or covers when he got to bed.  She leaned back and forth, almost hugging him a couple of times in the process of getting a hold of the roll of bandages. That of course also meant that her pelvis moved inappropriately close to him. “Almost there,” she told him with a low voice not that she was so close to him.

Xia furrowed her brows a little as he told her he was looking forward to she was done. Shortly after she took the metal clip and fastened it in front of him. Hopefully, he would be able to open it up himself in the morning and change the band-aid himself. As soon as it was secured, she got up from her seat and instantly noticed things had changed. It flushed her cheeks a little, “Yeah, I’m about to go,” she said, nodding a couple of times, not really knowing what to do with herself. “Do you need a hand with getting to bed?” she wondered and pointed towards the bedroom that she had located earlier when she had found a towel for the couch.

He didn’t need help. She gave him a nod, “Okay. Get better,” she said and turned to leave him alone. Just as she was about to walk towards the front door, he called for her, which made her turn around, thinking he needed some kind of aid, or maybe that he just needed help with getting to bed anyway. Her brows raised and she blinked a little as she was told that she should stay. She looked down at herself as he reminded her of the blood from him. She did look like a mess and people would most definitely stop and stare at her if she walked home like this. She took a deeper breath in, looking away shortly as she considered. He even offered to take the couch so she could sleep in the bedroom. “Okay, I’ll stay, but only if you sleep in your own bedroom,” she said and pointed a couple of times, from him towards his bedroom, to underline her condition. “You need to rest properly, and I’ll be fine on the couch, I-” she looked down at herself again. “I might just want to borrow something to sleep in,” she said with a soft chuckle and looked back at him.

She nodded and was about to follow him, when he suddenly turned around, telling her he had to lock the door. A shot laugh left her, and she let him pass her to lock it, even though she certainly could have used some of her magic to do so.
A nod was given again as he asked if they should find her a shirt. “I don’t care if it matches me, I’m not heading to the catwalk,” she laughed, “Just has to be big enough,” she said and looked at him, thinking about the size of his torso, “Which I don’t think will be a problem,” she said with a kind smile.

As soon as she was given a shirt, she gave him a nod, holding it up a little. “I’ll just be changing,” she said before she headed to the toilet to undress and put on the shirt. He looked at her dress, thinking about if she should be putting it the sink, but ended up just hanging it so it wouldn’t color anything. Her shoes she placed by the front door before she headed back to check if everything was alright. “Maybe drink some water too before you go to bed?” she wondered, hoping he was finding her a pillow, linen and duvet

She was given two opportunities for something to sleep in. Normally, when she was at home, she would go for something white that she could be certain was clean, but as of right now, she picked the black shirt. She didn’t wish for the white one to be see-through. “Thanks,” she said as she had the black shirt in her hand before she left to change.
She chuckled a little as he said it could work on a catwalk, it made her place her hands on her waist, and take a few steps towards him, almost as if she was a model before she stopped, stroked a pose, and started walking back. A very small show, mostly to lighten the mood between the both of them. She told him to get something to drink, believing he might be having a hangover in the morning, and she knew drinking water by the end of one’s night would help a little. He agreed but wanted to help with the couch first.
With a pillow in her embrace, she followed him into the living room and started helping with the linen before they could throw the pillow and duvet on. “I am hundred percent sure I don’t want to sleep in your bed,” she said, placing a hand on his shoulder to assure him. “Fetch some water and go to bed,” she told him with a kind smile. If he did as she had told him, she would sit down on the couch they had prepared for her and try to braid her hair so it wouldn’t get too tangled through the night.

She complimented her as she acted like a model, and she believed it was all for fun and giggles. She was that type of person. Giggling, smiling, having no trauma or trouble in the world. The happiest being.
Xia gave him a confident nod when he said he was okay and that she stood with her decision about taking the couch.

She almost reached the end of her braid when he asked her of something. She pulled the braid in front of her so she could see what she was doing. “Work?” she laughed a little looking from him to her lap before she looked back up at him, replying: “I don’t work right now actually,” she nodded a little thoughtfully. “Why?”
