Chaos Mode

Tien looked up from the pen and paper she sat with on the couch as Max spoke her name. Her shoulders slowly fell down as he dropped the news. “Zadkiel or Kemuel?” she wondered, not seeing Aleks as her brother, even though he was as much of a brother as Zadkiel by now. So odd. Her eyes were like glued on him as he approached and sat down in front of her. She nodded, “Yes, please,” she spoke with a very soft voice. Like so many other things she suppressed it, or maybe she was just shocked and couldn’t really fit in any emotions for now. She put her pen and paper down before she would get up and dressed to go out. She couldn’t help but wonder how he had lost blood. Hadn’t he been at work?

Eden hugged Cecilia back but couldn’t even muster a smile at this point. Feeling like everything around her was going in a speed she couldn’t follow. So, she just stood there with her friend, looking at her boy. Remembering the past events of him growing up. And somehow, just recalling that smiling boy that was always there to help her when she needed it. Was enough to make her breath and smile, her eyes closed and for just this moment she could find peace knowing that he would be alright. That she had gotten there in time, even though she would always beat herself up about not being there faster.

She turned around when she felt the auras of her children, Talia and Ash coming towards her. Kemuel was looking at his mother, he felt secure walking with Ash having his arms on his shoulder, the same that his sister was so close to him. For a moment he had no idea how to react, luckily his mother did it for them. Walking straight towards them, pulling them both into her embrace. Once again Eden was teleported back to the time where the twins had been kidnapped and she had been standing like this. Holding each of their heads. First giving Seraphina a soft kiss against her temple, and then pulling Kemuel tightly into her side kissing the top of his head. Eden looked over at Ash and mouthed; thank you. Before closing her eyes feeling tears escape and glide down her cheeks. Talia moved towards Daisy and gave her a soft smile, as she turned towards the window where they could see Zadkiel on the other side. She placed a hand against her mouth and just stood there. Not really comprehending that it was actually him.

It didn’t take long before Max drove both him and Tien into the parking lot of the hospital. He turned off the ignition. Without thinking much of it, his hand had found hers as they walked inside the hospital. He was quick to find Willow, to ask were Zadkiel was, grateful that she knew without even having to ask. The beautiful Masai gave Tien a soft smile, before she turned back to her other duties. Now, there was always something so heartbreaking in seeing a family just standing outside a room of their loved ones. Crying and holding each other. But also, life confirming, because it showed that love was still around. And there were people that would be there to support each other. He had seen it a little too many times, that people were admitted but had no one to come and visit them. He walked over towards them, and let go of Tien’s hand so she could hug or ask the questions she needed, that he couldn’t answer.

Ash walked in with the twins, just standing there still for a moment as people kept passing them, but he didn't care about just how many people had to walk through here, and most people also knew not to even attempt to tell Ash to get out of his way. Eden walked towards them, and pulled the twins into her embrace, making Ash exhale a little bit then knowing what was next on the list would be. For them to actually go through the entire thing. To know what had happened to their brother, it was never an easy thing, far from. And for one being a parent who had a child in danger, nothing he wanted to get used to and over the past three years he had had the pleasure of both Aleks, Bash and Zadkiel getting injured badly. Seraphina let her mother embrace her, in her mind still far from understanding what was going on around her today, like a bomb of dreadful chaos had chosen to consume them completely. Ash nodded a little to her thank you and took a deeper breath in before looking over at Talia that looked through the window, making Ash walk over and take a look in. It stung in his heart.

Daisy looked towards Talia shortly as she came closer then Ash, licking her lips a little bit. No, there was nothing fun about this, it was awful, devastating. Turning her head a little bit when she recognized Max and Tien, giving Talia a soft squeeze on her shoulder, and chose to back a little bit off. Letting the family be for now. Ash looked towards Max as well for a second, having a rather tough time taking his eyes off Zadkiel on the table. Still not completely letting his heart in the matter yet, not yet.

They got all the way to the hospital, and she was quite quick to get out of the car, but as soon as she was out her eyes locked on the giant building. She felt frozen in time. It had been seven years ago since he had been shot, and now he had lost a lot of blood. She knew he had broken a couple of bones through the years, but there wasn’t really anything else to it. It wasn’t as grand as this. Her thoughts were spiraling, and she felt cold, but as Max found her hand, she looked towards him before she followed him. He had pulled her out of the enclosed thoughts and brought her back to the real time. She wasn’t alone in this. She appreciated that Max could ask his coworkers for direction, so Tien wouldn’t have to wait or walk around as a headless chicken. She simply wanted to get there as quickly as possible so she would be able to relax and simply make sure that everyone was intact and had their head high. Her heart was racing as they walked through the halls.
When they reached her family Max let go of her, and her pace slowed as she approached. She could see how they all looked towards the glass where she guessed Zadkiel was on the other side. She didn’t dare to look. She kept her eyes on her mother and the twins. Where was Laila? She wanted to greet them, but no words could really leave her, which was why she simply gave Kemuel a little squeeze on the shoulder and let a very gentle hand run over Seraphina’s hair. She felt her heart was speaking in a megaphone, beating like it had never done before.

It was like time had frozen in the entire building. If it wasn’t for the fact that Eden knew that she no longer had the power to do so, she would have thought that she unconsciously had done it. It was just the state they were all in. Shock that they once again were here, together because one of them had gotten hurt in one way or another. It was like they were being tested just how far life could push them, before they would break. Almost as if someone was testing them in a way, to see if they were capable for what was to come in the future. Which wasn’t a nice thought to have going around in your mind. Because did that mean that this wouldn’t be the last time, they would be gather like this.
Eden lifted her head when she felt that Max and Tien were coming closer. She gave them a sad smile, and as Tien stepped closer she lifted the hand that had been placed around Kemuel and gave Tien a soft squeeze on her shoulder, before guiding her towards her and gave her a small hug and a kiss against her temple.
Max let them all be for a moment, didn’t really do much other than being there if they needed him. Knowing it was still hard for the twins to know that Tien had a guardian angel that had decided to interfere so much with her life. Especially with Sera’s fall, that could feel and look so unjust. But he was sure that she would be able to come to terms with it and live a beautiful life despite it all. He couldn’t help but think that she should meet Austin if she ever got the chance, a man that had come to terms with his situation and had understood God’s ways. Even if it was hard.
“He’s going to be okay” Eden whispered to reassure the kids that was standing with her. “He is just getting a full blood transfusion and replacement, and then he will be able to go home again in a couple of days” she explained even though it felt like hollow words. She was still waiting for Letha, even though she was already sure that she wouldn’t come. And in a way, she understood.

The second that she could, Seraphina escaped both Tien and their mother's embrace just taking Kemuel's hand and held his hand tight - almost afraid that he would suddenly vanish, even if she knew it was very unlikely. But the two of them also had a history of bad experiences and even if they never revisited them in their mind, the body remembered every little trauma and the most odd things could trigger it as a reminder. And when it came down to it, in a hospital with so many holy and angelic aura's even if Kemuel also one of them, he was the one remaining that she always would find the most comfort with. Seraphina didn't even listen to what her mother explained, it was like a far away echo trying to reach her but failing every time.

Then there was the next thing. After the call Laila had looked towards Sariel, and really the last thing Sariel needed today was more bad news, but she also had a feeling Sariel had known within seconds that there was something in the air. So, after having explained they were headed the way to the hospital. And Laila had run through the doors, everything had moved in slowmotion while her heart was beating outside of her chest. Laila almost stumbled over her legs serval times, not knowing where to go, but she just ran, most likely hitting multiply doors and corners with her shoulders, not caring much for bruises. Her heart stuck in her throat first stopping when she reached the window looking at Zadkiel from behind the glass, placing her hands on it shortly taking a deeper breath in to collect herself. She wanted to shout. Scream, break something for a second, but she closed her eyes for a moment and exhaled taking a step back, then looking towards the others letting her eyes rest on Sariel in the end, before walking over to her not wanting her to stand alone, but even Seraphina had let go of Kemuel's hand the second she had noticed Sariel was there and walked over to give her a hug.

Tien hugged  her mother back and closed her eyes for a second as her mother kissed her temple. She didn’t mind that Seraphina pulled away, though she wanted Seraphina to feel comfortable enough to lean against her from time to time. She wanted both of them to be able to do that, so they didn’t end up ruining each other – but that was probably what had happened, they had chosen each other instead of her, when she had been in such a bad shape. She couldn’t help but look forward to when she could support her family fully, and when they wouldn’t even hesitate about it. She listened to her mother’s words and nodded slowly. She wanted to know what had happened, but she also figured that time would tell. They story might even change depending on who told it. “Do you know when he’ll wake up?” she whispered.

Laila came running and Tien had to fold her lips as she could see how much it affected Laila. She wished to comfort her, but would she even want that? Laila turned and looked at them all and ended up looking at Sariel. Tien’s gaze followed and noticed how Seraphina walked over to Sariel. She wanted to comfort them all, but she wasn’t Zadkiel that just ‘knew what to do’ in those kinds of situations. She would probably just end up making someone mad. She glanced towards Kemuel before she looked back at her mother and finally let her eyes rest at the window. She just wanted to see him wake up. Be there and make sure he felt safe. After all, she had no idea about what had happened, except for the fact that he had lost a lot of blood.

“It could be minutes to a couple of hours, we have to wait for him to naturally wake up” Eden explained, letting go of Seraphina when she could feel that she didn’t want to be in their embrace anymore. Which she had learned by now, was just how things were going to be now. Kemuel gave his twin as oft squeeze to let her know that it was okay to step away if she needed it.

Now, Sariel hadn’t really been in the mood for seeing anyone today. But even then, she had called Laila and asked if she wanted to spend some time with her, mostly because she didn’t want to pull Ayah into more family drama, at least not right now. Which wasn’t really fair towards Laila, but here they were.
After she had gotten the call from Ash, Sariel had been a little hesitant if she wanted to see her mother. It was what, four hundred years since she had last seen her now? No more than that. Which was why she stopped letting Laila walk towards her family alone. A small smile formed over her lips, as her eyes locked with Seraphina. Now, they had felt that instant connection towards one another. The same aura, the same injustice that done against them. Put them in situations where they had no control over. So, it was almost instinctual that the older hybrid placed her arms around her young sister and pulled her close towards her. With a very simple spell she made sure that Seraphina could get some piece from the auras around her, placing a temperamental shield around them for a moment. “Hi there, Stump” she mumbled with a soft voice, closing her eyes and resting her head on top of hers.

Max at this point was just helping Ash with getting the information that he needed, to get some form of reassurance that Zadkiel was getting the absolutely best care that he could get right now. Understanding that it could be hard keeping his head cool after another son, after such a short time, being in danger again.

Seraphina breathed out feeling the tension ease just by an inch in her shoulders, not realizing anymore how much it weighed her down time to time being in company of so many angels. Just finding comfort in being held close by Sariel, so she just stood there however long Sariel allowed her.

Laila took a sharper breath in turning her head back towards the window again. Laila who always had the answer to every issue or felt like she knew what do to, had no idea what to even say in this situation, far from. So, she just sat down, bended in her knees and folded her hands on top of her knees. It didn't take long before she just let herself completely sit down on the floor, just starring up towards the window. One thing she had never been good at was waiting, and not knowing. Laila wished to do something, be useful in some way - but the harsh reality would just be, everything was out of her hands, she could do nothing. But what had happened? Really happened to end up with Zadkiel losing so much blood? Why did these kind of things keep on happening to her family, Laila simply didn't understand it. She turned her head looking up towards Kemuel giving him a sad smile, holding her hand out towards him wanting to reach his so she could give it a small squeeze.

Ash looked a little back at everyone before he started looking through the information that Max helped him go through. The average person was always talking so highly about it had to be nice being a doctor when people you knew or your family got sick, but truth, it was horrible, because it also meant when something terrible like this happened you thought about every single little thing that could go wrong. So, he appreciated that Max didn't hold the things from him but let him read it.
