| Sted: Udenfor Maeves hus. Tid: Omkring kl 12.

”Are you sure you don’t want me to come by? I can get a taxi in no time and be at your place within the hour.” ”… Okay. That’s good. Yes. I’ll stay here and recover. Doctor’s orders…” “Someone is at the door. I’ve gotta go. Keep me posted, alright? Don’t worry. It’s probably just the mail man. Yes. I’ll be careful. ”Yes? Can I help you with anything? We don’t buy at the door if you’re here to sell anything. Sorry.” |

"Don't worry love, I'm not here to sell you anything. "You are Maeve Poe, right? I was asked to take your case. Making sure you get the money for your phone and car as well as other items of course," der var ikke et sekunds tvivl om, hvorvidt han snakkede sandt eller ej. "I have a few things we need to chat about, do you have time?" |

”I’m sorry. Yes, that’s me. I just wasn’t expecting you. I thought I would hear something from you before setting up a meeting like this. ”Like I said, I wasn’t expecting visitors but if you don’t mind the robe, we can take care of what things now.”
”You can just leave your shoes here. And there’s a hanger for your jacket behind the door if you need it.” Ind i stuen.
”Can I get you anything? Coffee? Tea? Water?” ”We should also have some juice boxes in the fridge if that’s more of your fancy.” |

| "Usually you would, but I had another case down the streets earlier, and I thoughut I at least could swing by," påpegede han med en lille påskrevet grimasse og fagt med den ene arm. "I don't mind, I live with my younger sister - she would kill me for just showing up, but since you haven't tried to strangle me for asking.
"How is your arm healing up?" |

”Okay, just tell if you change your mind.” ”Thanks. It’s my parents that deserve all the credit, however. They are out at the moment. Work,” forklarede hun ham, idét hun passerede ham.
Ikke mens hun have gæster. ”Well, it’s healing, so good consindering,” svarede hun ham, som han spurgte ind til armen. ”I rarely need to use the sling anymore. The doctors told me it would only be necessary for the first few days but I still keep it at hand. And I can move my fingers again so now I’m just trying to remind myself to do the exercises. But…” ”I still have 6-8 weeks in the cast to look forward to. And then rehabilitation.”
Diskuteres hendes muligheder. Snakkes om hvad forsikringen kunne gøre for hende. ”So, mr. Lightwood, you’re surprisingly sculpted for an office worker, if you don’t mind me saying,” sagde hun, som hun selv satte sig ned. |

"So, how are the repair of your car going?

”My current...?
”There apparently wasn’t much of the car that could be saved so I’ll hopefully be compensated to a new one when all the papers are signed and taken care of.” ”Who did you say that you worked for again, mr. |

| She was a lot smarter than she looked, he had to give her that. Joseph could see how the brain worked to figure out the pieces of the puzzle, but sadly he was playing a different game. He nodded a bit, trying to calculate and see if he could figure out how she was thinking. Joseph liked her, she was interesting - he picked up a lot more than he thought he would have. The question wasn't a surprise to him, he had expected her to question him at some point. Humans were so skeptical and mistrusting to anything new, or at least that was his observation. "Do you remember Dash Morley, he sadly passed a week ago from a longtime sickness and his son was supposed to take over from him, but he travelled over seas.. something about wanting to see the Great barrier reef before it dies - so I was next in line" he explained looking her in the eye. "It's so tragic that people haven't taken better care of the ocean," he sighed heavily. Joseph was a man of magic and science - but magic was mostly connected to the nature, and the connection made him sure that nature had gotten worse - he didn't need to follow the climate scandale on tv for that.

| While Maeve had been doing her best in acting as normal as possible, not showing too much of her suspicion and letting it only be a hint, there was a still a distinct difference in her facial expression when it was revealed that the late Mr. Morley had passed. Her brown eyes widened and she sat more straight up by the small surprise of this information. And the creeping distrust has almost immediately retreated back to where it came from. Being left puzzled she blinked a few times before she uttered a light ’oh’. “I hadn’t heard. I’m sorry to hear that. Mr. Morley and my father knew each other even before we moved here to Aston.” It made sense again and she might feel a bit ashamed for turning skeptic so quickly but before she could hammer herself over something like that, it got pushed to the back of her mind. She rarely dwelled too much on stuff like that. One would eventually just get stuck. Though it did make sense, it wasn’t everything that did. She could see how he would refer to her insurance company as one different from his because of the changed that had been made to the firm but still… She shook her head mentally. What was she doing? Since when had she gotten so wary of people? Well, she had just hit her head hard. The mentioning of the ocean did manage to bring her all the way out of it and she instantly cracked a chuckling smile and lowered her gaze for a short moment. There was nothing funny about it but it did remind Maeve of one specific person. “Something tells me you’d get well out of it with my cousin,” she told as a passing commentary not actually planning to set them up. It was small talk.
The tip of her tongue pressed itself out between her lips and wetted them habitually before she looked back up at Joshua. Whatever he had done she was much more comfortable now. “I was wondering if you have any insurance papers with you? I’d like to maybe look them over with you if you have the time. That way I can get the necessary documents signed as well,” Maeve the started asking, looking a little around in search of perhaps a briefcase of some kind and then returned her curious eyes to him. Waiting.. patiently. “I was lucky to break my non-dominant hand,” She raised her casted hand - the right one - just a bit off the table. “so, I won’t have trouble writing anything down if it’s needed.” She didn’t mind this man’s company, she was a social butterfly, she enjoyed talking, but it would probably be best if they could get the thing out of the way before more people came home and made the house too lively. Tre small boys could make quite the amount of noise. |

| Joseph realized he had forgotten the papers, but even through he easily could magically make them appear - he wanted a shot of meeting up with her again, a time where no one would come to ruin the moment for him. "How stupid of me, I forgot my briefcase in the car," he breathed out and almost hit his own head. He listened to everything around them, which made it clear to him - that it would be a moment of time before they would have company. He had little to know intention of risking someone else noticing him, at least he didn't want to leave to many tracks for people to follow. "But-" just as he was about to speak, a few knocks on the door and it opened. Joseph looked towards the door, a human appeared - funny, it was like the scent had some familiar about it, however, not even Joseph was able to place it just yet. "Hey Maeve," a taller guy walked to the kitchen, "and-" Ethan looked over at the stranger and held his hand out. "Joshua Lightwood, pleasure -" he looked shortly at the human's hand before he took it giving it a firm shake. "Ethan, hey-" Ethan looked shortly confused at Maeve about who this guy was - he was however aware, since he could feel a lot of negative forces around this guy, it made him uncomfortable on behalf of Maeve. He let go of the hand and gave the guy a lovely fake smile. "Oh boy, will you look at the time, here is my card - call me so we can schedule a time for another day," Joseph got up from the chair and looked at Maeve with an apologetic look in his eye. "Nice to meet you Ethan, hopefully we will see each other soon. Ciao," moved towards the door to put his shoes back on. Ethan frowned and looked over at Maeve, "Your father called about some pipes that did not work .. who is that guy?" He whispered and looked back towards the guy having a hard time putting his shoes quickly on. |

| Huh? It wasn’t that he had forgotten to bring his briefcase. No. But way he acted to animated about it - acting out as if to hit himself in the head for being so stupid - seemed odd to her. She couldn’t help but feel that it was an intended move he’d made. Forgetting his stuff. But why? She had been about to tell him, that he could just go get them now, that she’d wait for him, that it really wouldn’t be no problem since she had all day, but then it knocked on the door and Maeve’s attention got drawn across the living room and out towards the open door to the entrée. She had just gotten op from her chair to go open up for the person, when they strolled inside in their own. “Ethan! Hey,” she busted out and immediately brought a big smile onto her lips when she saw the bear of a man. Quickly she got reminded of Joshua and looked down at him for a short while before returning her gaze at Ethan, ready to introduce. “This is-…” But she lost the race and the men themselves took care of the introductions. She must have been a bit airheaded, because she didn’t seem to notice anything weird about her best friends behavior. Either that, or she had become so used to Ethan being a little apprehensive about other guys she was around which he didn’t know.
“But-.. I mean, of course.” Maeve got caught off guard when she suddenly got handed yet another of his business cards, making a fast glance towards the one he had already handed her before on the table. Still, she took the card in the spur of the moment. She looked to Joshua with a confused frown. “I’ll call then.” And he was off, and she couldn’t help but look up at Ethan beside her like he had any idea of what just occurred. “Oh yea! It’s the…the…” What was it. She searched around her for a note, she was sure her father had left for her about Ethan coming by. There! On the fridge. In a few long steps she crossed the floor to it and ripped the note before going back to Ethan. Reading what was written on it as she went. “The sink in the upstairs bathroom is very slow to drain the water. Ehm.. Ethan, can you just stay standby for a moment.” She only saw up for a second or so before she pushed the note into the chest of Ethan and then took quick steps out into the entrée. She had totally blanked out the question about who this stranger in her house was.
She stopped up, standing in the doorway just beside the small area where Joshua fumbled with his shoes. It didn’t take her more than a short reach around the edge of the door frame for her to get a hold of his jacket, he had hung there earlier. “A shame you have to leave to suddenly since you made the efforts of coming all this way. You know, it won’t be any trouble for me to wait for you to go retrieve the papers. But… I understand that you probably have other appointments waiting,” she said, as she stood with his jacket over her arm, until he was ready for it, and she then held it out for him to take. Sending him a reassuring smile in the process. |

| Ethan took a slightly deeper breath in, what was up with this guy and why on the sudden hurry. The human's detective brain kicked in on the suspicious behavior right away, for someone trying to sell something or help someone - it didn't really cross Ethan as someone who would take off this quickly. Ethan barely moved, he more just listened to Maeve and looked how she went all about making sure the guest was alright. It didn't surprise him, so he let her do what she did best. "Of course," he simply replied, but still didn't move much. He didn't like the stranger in the house, he was overprotective - he knew that, but knowing that guy was a supernatural creature, Ethan didn't really like him too close, not with that intense force of negative energies coming from him.
"Stupid human behaviors," Joseph mumbled to himself while he struggled to put on the shoes again. He jumped on one leg while he tried to get his heel in the shoe, things looked so much easier when other people did it. He could just use magic, but then she suddenly was standing there again. Joseph looked up at her and almost lost his balance doing so. "Yeah.. I have an appointment in Grounds of Lily, I wish there was just some magical thing so I could be there right away, but, not that lucky," he laughed a little by himself while regaining his balance. He finally managed to put on the first shoe. The fight with the other shoe wasn't as long, after all, he couldn't have her looking at him jumping around with one shoe being a struggle to put on looking like a war in Asia. "It's very kind of you," he got the shoe on and looked up to take the jacket. He put his hand over hers for a few seconds, looking her deep in the eye with that slightly charming smile lifting up on his lips. "You will hear from me soon miss Poe," he assured before taking the jacket and putting it on. Ethan slowly walked out there, just making sure everything was going well. He got eyecontact with the guy shortly. "Have a lovely day both of you." He turned around. It was still weird, almost like his magic had went away for a second by that touch. Usually he was the one taking powers from others - he however had a feeling it didn't work that way at all with her. She didn't have much clue about what went on outside these walls, but by the look of the human.. Ethan.. he knew much. Why wouldn't he let her know too? He would change that. This world was far to interesting to be blindsideed like this. Joseph left the house and walked towards where he had said his car was. But much like a poof, he was gone - just like magic.
"That guy was weird," Ethan said low to himself before looking down at Maeve, "how is your arm today?" |

| It really wasn’t her intention to come off as rude but how the newly positioned insurance firm owner struggled with his shoes almost had her burst out a chuckle, had she not fought to hold it in. Pressing her lips together and choked the sound of the laugh. However, she could hide the smile that came with the package. Or the retraction in her stomach. This somehow broke the very straight-back image she was sure he had tried to upheld around her, wanting to be fully professional in her present. Created cracks in the porcelain perfection - and soullessness. She only felt a little bad for not offering him the shoe horn, hanging hooked on the edge of the small radiator in the cramped entrance. He must really have forgotten all about time with how much he hurried and stumbled around. In the end he did win the war against his own fancy shoes but… the toothy smile of a salesman wasn’t quite the same, as he straightened up to say his goodbyes. Maeve automatically glanced down at her hand, where his grazed, noticing a slight roughness which she wouldn’t have expected from an office worker. Her own hands were softened with very little handy work - working mostly at a desk. You will hear from me.. But hadn’t he just asked her to contact him? “You have my number. I promise I’ll be more presentably dressed next time around,” she settled, though still with that warm smile on her lips. In all seriousness, she had been a bit embarrassed having a visitor such as himself, wearing only a silly robe over her pajamas. She hadn’t even had the chance to do more than just brushing her hair this morning, thinking she would be tied to the coach - doctor’s orders. Ethan sneaking up behind her, wasn’t actually something she sensed. Not before Joshua look up and Maeve instinctually looked over her shoulder. Ethan was a broad and tall man, but she had gotten so used to him that the towering feeling, he must bring with him, and which she felt with other men of the same stature, didn’t even occur anymore. Not with Ethan. “Ah yes! You too, mr. Lightwood. Drive safe.” Her attention quickly returned to Joshua, watching him leave.
A relieved sigh, like letting out air of a balloon, passed over her lips as the calm came back. It always took a little of the safe haven feel of a home when people came by. People who were basically family. “He was, wasn’t he?” Maeve agreed, before turning around and looking back up at her friend. “When I first saw him I was sure he was here to sell some kind of Tupperware or cable TV. But apparently he’s the new CEO of my family’s insurance company. Joshua Lightwood. Poor mr. Morley has passed away not long ago.” It wasn’t actually because she remembered Ethan asking into who the man was. No. Her mind had been somewhere else by then that the question had completely slipped her mind. Explaining what was going on just came natural on its own. A kind smile then moved onto lay on her lips by his concern. He was so sweet. How anyone could feel scared of this man was beyond her. “Good. I can move my fingers and as you can see, I don’t necessarily need the sling,” she said and lifted held up her hand a little, to show the progress. The carefully moving fingers, sticking up from the white cast. “I can’t wait to get the cast off, so I can take a bath without a plastic bag around it, though.” |

| Ethan had not much to say about the guy, and he was always on his toes when magical being was around Maeve. She lived in this little bobble where his life was a product of imagination, and he wanted her to have that. This world was a mess, and once you had it in your life - everything took a darker turn. It was like that for everyone he knew. The supernatural always destroyed the light, he had seen and heard Zitora's story - Jessicas, Madelaine, Erin even Cecilia, way to many people had been caught up in pain because of this world. Was it so wrong of him to want more for her? Ethan was happy she was feeling better, knowing she wasn't thriving in the whole 'sitting down and do nothing' lifestyle. It was a need for a good recovery, and she knew that. One thing was he was here to help because her father had asked him, another thing was - he liked checking up on her. "That is good," he smiled a little bigger. He escaped a little laughter, oh yeah, he had broken a few things in his life was well - but thanks to Erin or other magical means he usually recovered unusually fast. Also a reason why he sometimes faked his injuries to be smaller than they actually were - so she wasn't to suspicious of him healing fast. "That is going to be great," he pointed out. "Your dad said your mom is making lasagne tonight, so he said I could join," he then walked towards the bathroom so he could begin to fix what was on the list. "I will be right with you after I'm done."
