Running into trouble

Luckily, she made sure that her mocking attempt was a little over the top. Other wise he might have believed he had. He did enjoy her company and would hate to push her away because of something so stupid. He tilted his head slightly when she claimed she wasn’t a princess. Maybe not literally, but she did seem to have some princess-like qualities. His gaze shortly fell down to her finger in his chest. He quickly looked back in her eyes. The things she said, made his heart beat faster. He didn’t want to be king, but he did want to have something to lead. He wanted to be able to have people under him, who was dependent on him and looked to him when a decision needed to be made. A king did do that, but there was also a lot of sacrifices involved. He wouldn’t want to deal with that. ”Only the future will tell,” he claimed. He wasn’t sure about the next she said. He couldn’t imagine himself being in a relationship. He was beginning to realize, her moving her eyebrows were a regular thing. It was cute, and it made her a bit quirky and unique. He went up beside her. ”When do we start?”

Roman smiled slightly at her compliment. He watched her as she was thinking, likely how to take over the world. ”You suggest this, so I will have more dogs to give you puppy love, aren’t you?” He did think it would be possible to do a lot with dogs, but taking over the world might be a bit of a stretch. Her next advice was more sincere. Something he would actually be able to use in the near future. ”It’s easier if you have a set goal in mind.” He didn’t feel like he had much of direction in his life. He definitely needed it, but for now he was just focused on getting through each day. Hopefully, one day he would get a clear direction. He did have a far off goal, but it was still so abstract and needed some smaller goals, leading up to the big one.
He looked at her, when she suddenly changed the subject. It was fine with him, since he didn’t have much more to say anyway. ”That sounds good. Where can I find the pound?” He was probably going to take him there on a walk soon. He had the most necessary things you needed for a dog, but new things never hurt. ”He’s very energetic, so you need to be sure you can handle it.”

Roman watched her carefully. ”If you say so, princess.” He said the last word with a teasing look in his eyes. He was normally not the type to do much teasing, joking or anything like it. But once in a while, he felt comfortable doing so.
He nodded when she mentioned, she would text the address. He let out a short laugh. ”Right, right. I forgot for a moment.” He knew socializing was important. It was a good thing he met her. Otherwise, he would have to go to parks or some shit, to make sure Snow met other dogs. It would just be annoying to him. He was fine with just a few people around him, but if it became to many or it was people he didn’t know, he would easily get stressed or feel pressured. And if that happened, he would react with anger and most likely end up insulting or assaulting someone. It would be a whole mess. ”I will have to prepare myself, otherwise I would end up taking them all home.” It would not be uncommon, if you wouldn’t think of Roman as a compassionate and caring type. He didn’t appear as such. But he was, much more than people seemed to realize. He had just been taught it was a weakness, so he would hide that side away. Animals, and dog especially, got that side out in him. There was a reason he preferred dogs over people.

Roman understood very much. ”Yeah, that sucks.” He would have been same place, if he hadn’t been forced to leave home. ”It can be a relief to be out on your own,” he said quietly. He had many split feelings about his family. He was happy to be free of them, but he also would have wanted them to be better parents to him. He just felt like his life would have been very different, if he had had supportive parents. He looked at her when she winched. ”You should get that bandaged.” He imagined it would take some time, before her wound would heal completely.


He could see the border up ahead. He wanted to go home to Snow, but he also had enjoyed spending time with her. He was already looking forward to going to the pound to see her again, and to have Snow meet some other dogs. It was going to be good for both of them, he was sure of it.
He nodded. ”No need for thanks.” He nodded to the next she said. He was not that worried. He had survived around here so far, and it was not the safest place. ”Mmh..” He leaned towards her a little bit. ”Maybe I just needed an excuse to stick around you.” Roman might not seem like it now, but he had been raised in similar circumstances as her. His parents didn’t miss anything in regards to money. Neither did he. But the moment he wasn’t what his parents expected, he became aware, they were not viewing him as a person or a child, but an object. He was to be used for his parents to gain even more than they already had.

Roman tilted his head. ”I thought you weren’t a princess.” He had a mischievous look in his eyes. He enjoyed this type of conversation. Were it was hard to tell for sure if it was flirting or just a teasing conversation. It was good for him to be kept on his toes. He felt similar to her. He did believe friends were more important. He just wasn’t the best at keeping friends. He always ended up insulting them or sleeping with them. It was one of the two, actually. He had never been in love for real. It had always just been fleeting and only lasting a short period of time.
He smiled when she gave him a kiss on his cheek. Her giggle was absolutely adorable. ”I’ll remember to do that.” He kept his gaze on her when she backed away. He parted his lips to warn her, as she was about to back into a lamppost. She managed to avoid it all on her own. ”See you around, princess,” he yelled before turning around to make his way back to the club. On the way, he made sure to send her a text. I keep my promises – R. he was not the most expressive texter, but that probably was just a reflection of how he was in real life, for the most part.
