Selene had been back at their shared house one time after she had meet Walter there. Seen what a state he had left it in, and almost told herself that, that was it. No more.
After Diego and Irina had tried to talk some sense into her, she had finally thought that now she could move on. She had seen a couple of people. Been out drinking with Jack after work, but funnily enough. Nothing more than a casual beer between co-workers. It was to gentle, to be of the man she had returned to, for her to believe it was anything else than a memory or a hope in her that wished for him to be there so badly that she was hearing and imagining things.

A twig snapped under a foot and finally she turned around. There he was, but this time she believed he was actually there. “Walter?” she clearly didn’t understand why he was here. She stood away from the tree she had been using as a helping tool. “Sure” she took her hair and pushed it away from her face and put it into a ponytail. She walked towards him and could feel how sweat was gliding down her neck, shoulder and back. “Mind walking with me to my housing? I could really use something to drink” civil, at least she could be that, still not really understanding why he was even here.

She looked at him sideways as he started throwing his arms around mapping out the scenery. “It’s fine” she quickly said, and bit down her lip trying to focus on just walking towards the dormitory for the people living on campus. Luckily for them, many had their own place or was on holiday. It was her and another guardian at the moment that lived here. For a short while she had a small apartment downtown but had quickly ended the lease at it felt like a waste of money when she could live here. Besides, she needed to save as much money as she could.

Something about him felt, off. Not that she felt like she quite knew him as well, with all that had happened since she had gotten back. She wondered if she should keep the small talk, but she couldn’t really get her mouth to work, so instead she just picked up the pace so they could get there faster, and he would tell her what it was he was doing here. She wasn’t even supposed to see him, with being a part of Rafael’s pack.

She opened the door to the dormitory and walked over to her small one-bedroom apartment. She quickly unlocked the door and let both of them in before she closed the door behind her former boyfriend. She looked at his broad back and took in a sharp breath closing her eyes, leaning against the door. “Why are you really here Walter?” she quietly asked holding the door handled watching him with her dark brown eyes.

She looked down as his hand found her hand, pulling it slightly towards him. She could feel the warmth seeping through her skin sending chills up her arm down her spine. Maybe that had been their biggest issue, just how electric every touch felt. How every slight movement made their eyes draw towards each other’s bodies. Even if they would try, they would never be able to be platonic. Even if she had been told to stay away from him. Even if she knew it was over.
Her heart started to pound in her chest, as he moved closer, her dark eyes founding his green. A breath stuck in the back of her throat, making it almost impossible to breathe. Not when he was this close, not when she didn’t know why he was here.

She hated herself for hoping. For keeping that torch lit towards him, no matter where he went. Because even in the arms of another, she would still love him.
So occupied with her thoughts she hadn’t even noticed what he was doing before his hand touched her jawline. The fingers that brused upwards before his lips came crashing down on hers. The hand finding the back of her head to pull her closer. A gasp made her open her mouth. It took a second before she understood what was going on. But as soon as she did, she didn’t waste time. How many times hadn’t she dreamed, hoped, and wishing for this? Every time she had thought about him the past nine years, where she had fought her way back to him. When she had seen him, and he had pushed her away telling her that she couldn’t just come back like that. Finding out that he had found another, and the conflict between wanting to take back what she felt was hers, and then coming with terms with that if he was happy with someone else. Then she should love him enough to let go.

And now it was finally happening. A moan left her throat as he pressed her back towards the wall nearest him. Not that it was hard finding one free from anything. As there wasn’t really anything other than a small kitchenette, a door into a small toilet and then there was a bed. And she the same to him, how she could make him look at her, when he was too far gone and didn’t know foe from friend. He always came home to her, always looked her in the eye and calmed down. For all the anger he harboured, he had never scared her. Never made her fear for her own safety or life. No, she had always felt so incredible safe in his arms or near him.

Her arms found their way around his neck as she leaned forward when he pulled her away from the wall and walked over to her bed and sat down. She pulled away a little and looked at her love sitting there in her bed looking at her.
She took in a deep breath, while her hand found their way into his hair. “I’ve missed you so much” she got out before letting their lips met, this time not in the same burning passion. But savouring that she was finally here, he was holding her. His hands on her skin, hers on his. Whatever she had done coming back to Gaia, had been her trying to numb the pain of not having him near.
If there was ever such a thing as soulmates, they would be it. Because to be frank, she couldn’t live without him in her life.

Normally she never forgave. Normally she would never let someone that had hurt her into her life again. But for all she cared, Walter could have done far worse to her, and she would still come back. For all the brutal and hateful thoughts, she had when he had pushed her away. None of them had any pull in how she felt in this moment.

“But you came back” she whispered, he had come to her this time, not the other way around. He had chosen her. That was all that mattered for her right now, in this moment of pure bliss. “And I wish that I had fought harder to come back, but we can’t change what happened, what we can do” she whispered and left his lap to stand up in front of her. She grabbed the lining of her training pants and started to pull them down. Normally she would have teased him, but right now, she couldn’t even think straight, because of how much she wanted him. “is catching up from lost time” she breathlessly said as she finally got the pants off, the same with her underwear standing completely naked in front of him. “Your turn” she fell down on her knees and started working on his pants to get them off him.
