The strzygoń is a demon related to a vampire in Slavic mythology, although it has a particular association with Polish folklore. It is a creature born from human parents, but has two hearts, two souls, and—most creepily—two sets of teeth, with the second set barely visible. An infant with its teeth already developed when it was born was believed to be a strzygoń, and such creatures were to be driven away from human civilization as soon as possible before it could attack people. Because of this, the supposed strzygoń often died at a very young age, but since they had two souls, only one would pass into the afterlife after the body died. The other soul would be reanimated inside the corpse of the strzygoń, then it would prey upon the living and drink their blood and eat their flesh.
At night, the strzygoń hunted by transforming into an owl and attacking unfortunate travelers or people lost in the darkness. The only way to kill a strzygoń was to cut off its head and bury it away from the body so that it wouldn’t reanimate, although burying the body facedown with a sickle around its neck so it would cut off if the corpse came back to life would work as well.
According to some tales, their humanity (or the first soul) could be brought back if a courageous person managed to sleep inside their grave or tomb for the whole night when he’s out for a hunt, up until hearing the third crow of a rooster at dawn.
Their bloodlust and powers can get activated in two ways: the first taste of blood from another creature, the second way is after they die the first time leaving their demonic soul to take over.. |

Ancient Greeks and Romans have been writing down stories about a malevolent monster named strigoi or strix long before Slavs.
It is said that their feathers from their transformation can be used in potions or powerful love spells. Some legends claims that if you collected enough feathers you could create a youth potion when combined with other ingrediencies.
They are often confused with either: vampires because of their need to drink blood. Banshees because of their loud screams. Or demons because of their somewhat demonic nature.

| | Weaknesses. | | A Strzygoń can be killed if one stakes them in the chest with a stake made from a whitethorn tree. You can also burn their bodies after having put them down to make sure their soul doesn't have a body to return to. Decapitation is a famous way to make sure the body can't come back to live. Some rituals where salt is used can keep the Strzygoń from entering a house, make them distracted an sometimes even trap them somewhere. Since they have two set of souls, its said that one if the human one and the other is the demonic, with bloodlust or death its often the demonic part of the soul that takes over and lets the Strzygoń act on its impulses rather than the mundane. Strzygoń cannot become vampires and witches. However, a werewolf bite will possibly turn them into werewolves rendering their souls more restless as the two souls still remains in the body making the Strzygoń trapped in the body of the werewolf. |
| | Strength. | Strzygoń has a supernatural strength that matches blood demons once they have been drinking human blood, their speed is set to match a vampires making them incredible fast. When it comes to their healing they never get sick, and pretty much immune to any sort of virus - especially when they are feeding on blood. Since the Strzygoń has two souls, they can live as long as both one soul is in the body, there are also rituals where its said that you can bring a Strzygoń's soul back to its body from the beyond making them come back to life. If you don't use the right method to kill them, they will be rendered into a coma that makes them appear dead, but they will just spend this time healing till they wake up again.

| | Racial abilities. | During night the Strzygoń is known to be able to turn into an owl, or a human sized owl. This shape is how they hunt and torment humans. They are also able to show their second set of fangs in their human shape, which is a set of razor sharp teeth much like sharks.
They have a power to render themselves unseen. This means the Strzygoń can go completely unnoticed by the naked eye and become invisible in the visible spectrum. They can therefor move around and not be spotted by anyone and act without being observed. At times the Strzygoń can choose to let certain people see them, while staying invisible to others. They are also said to be able to render others to invisible with them by touch. However, they cannot stay invisible forever, and if they overextend their powers they might nullify their ability. It requires great concentration to stay invisible, the slightest disrupt could make the power stop working. People with extrasensory perception might be able to see the user, as well as people with serval vision powers.
