The beginning

Olive pressed her brows together as she stood there and looked at the very closed Casino. How come the night that it was raining, and she was coming, it was closed? It wasn’t like Olive was a woman who generally believed in karma or fate. But someone seriously had it out for her today; maybe it was that she wanted to write about what had been going on the last couple of months, almost as if it had culminated in yesterday's night's events. The killing of a young man and his friend, the friend being Victoria Fogarty, that had ties to River Dalton, now if anyone could smell a good story, it was her. Still, sadly it didn’t seem like she was getting a statement tonight, especially since the Casino that was never closed seemed to go against what it usually was.

A soft sigh left Olive as she let her hand hug the umbrella a little tighter; she knew that she needed to move. Still, for some reason, as she stood there staring into the dark void, she subconsciously might hope that the light would be turned on and life would reappear, making her able to get that interview. But another second went by, and nothing changed; now, it was time to move and figure out what else to do with her night. A low sigh left her as she turned around, almost knocking down someone in the process with her umbrella. “Oh shit, I’m so sorry. Are you okay?” she said with a sweet voice grabbing the person's arm and locking her eyes. A small smile appeared on her lips as she noticed a beautiful woman she was holding the arm of.

Now, Aria always had a way to do things her way, which was why she had managed to get a key to the casino. Or, something that could work as a key. She had tried to get indoors, tried to call River, but she had been greatly ignored by the back door. With drenched hair and her jacket that was starting to give up on keeping the rain out, she rolled her eyes and left the back area with her eyes to the ground. Just as she passed the front door, she could feel how an umbrella was on its way to poke her eye, which made her quickly step away, almost tripping, and if not saved by her own correctional step, by the hand of the woman who had almost cost her, her sight. With an unnecessary, but relieved sigh, her eyes locked with the woman. She repositioned her own stance, “Yeah,” she nodded, “A little shocked that I almost lost an eye, but,” she laughed and shrugged a little, with a wide smile over her lips. From where they were standing, she knew immediately that the woman had wished to enter the casino. “You’re not getting in today. The dick wants some alone time I think,” she said and shrugged a little. Yes, she allowed herself to speak about River like that. “Are you here for the games or the drinks?” she wondered, raising a brow, still with a wide smile on her lips.

A smile formed on Olive’s lips, and for a moment, she forgot that it was even raining. “Oh shit, I’m really sorry about that” she was just about to ask if there was something she could do to make it better again. Pulling her correctly back on her feet, she let go so she could fold the umbrella together, even though it would end up making her completely soaked.
Now she was wearing her gloves, which meant that she hadn’t gotten anything from the woman standing in front of her, but even then, she didn’t need to because she already knew who it was. Aria Addams, daughter of Oscar and Revna Addams. Sister to River Dalton. The only child of the two first purebloods that had actually decided to keep her last name.
A laugh left her as she called her brother a dick “well, given what happened yesterday, it doesn’t surprise me, and yet, I didn’t think I’ll ever see the day where River decided to close down the casino” she shook her head when asked if she had come for the games and drinks. Or just one of them. “No, interview” she licked her lips, narrowing her eyes. “But since that isn’t happening, how about I repay you for almost taking out your eye with a drink, or maybe ten?” she straightforwardly said.  

She chuckled a little, “It’s alright. I can grow another,” she said with a wide smile, “Kidding,” she said, scrunching her nose shortly, just to make her certain. Some people did however have some pretty neat abilities that could do such things. She watched how the woman folded her umbrella, thinking shortly that they could have shared it instead, but on the other hand, Aria was already quite wet from banging on the door and trying to picklock herself inside.
Aria raised her eyebrows, somewhat surprised that this woman knew about what had happened yesterday. Maybe news just traveled quickly? Interview. Of course, that was why she knew. She was a woman who knew everything. She hummed interested and poked up a brow when she explained that it wasn’t happening, only to let a smug smile glide over her lips as she mentioned a drink or ten. “I think ten sounds like a good repayment,” she replied nodded a little. “I’m Aria,” she presented herself. See, there was something about this woman, that Aria really liked.

“Well, ten drinks it is” she laughed and then nodded towards the place she thought might be able to serve both their needs. Given that, she herself also needed the intake of blood now and then, though not as much as the purebloods. “Valentina, but most people know me as Olive” she presented herself as well and then started walking down the road to a small hidden away bar where there was a cosy atmosphere, where you could talk and not have to shout to overcompensate for the annoying music that would be pumping through the speakers. She always got a headache from those places.
“So, Aria, what do you do?” she asked, wanting to know more about this sister of River’s. Now everyone knew River, or at least those with their finger in the dirt. But Aria wasn’t as well known, even though Olive knew more about Aria than she had ever been able to dig up about Ace. And Revna, well, she had suddenly disappeared, and she still hadn’t figured out what happened with her. Oscar, that wasn’t really a secret since he was running one of the companies that made the Jones cooperation run for their money. Besides, it wasn’t everything one could figure out just by asking the right questions.

A wide and appreciative smile spread on her lips as she agreed to ten drinks. It sounded like a wonderful evening already, and she was ready to follow wherever this woman was going to bring her. A soft hum left her as the woman presented her. “Olive,” she repeated, nodding with a crooked smile. She walked with the woman all the way into the smaller bar and felt  immediately hugged with warmth from the inside of the bar.
Aria’s eyes looked over at Olive’s as she asked about her. “Mhm, interviewing the next best instead?” she joked, wearing teasing smile. “I don’t really do… Much,” she said, trying to find the right words. After all, she was still a part of the Spanish Mafia, but only heard from them once in a while. Nobody really knew about what Aria did in her free time. “I’m doing my best to stay low, you know,” she said with a wider smile, “And by staying low, I go to parties, both for everyone else and blood-parties. I make sure small sweethearts don’t get into the wrong hands,” she replied pulling a greater smile. Sadly, she hadn’t succeded with Iris and Oscar. She had tried, but there had been something too strong there, and even though she had tried to help Rose feel better, it hadn’t worked to. “I try,” she said pulling a smile like she usually did. “I’m only really in this town because I got a hint about Ace, and now River is here and-” she stopped herself, “Yeah, the whole shebang is here,” she said and shrugged. “Nothing good to write about,” she said and scrunched her nose a little.

She lifted her brow as she mentioned interviewing the next best thing; who was saying she was going to interview anyone right now. She was just asking a very typical question, or wasn’t it acceptable asking what people were doing? If so, she needed to get out more because then things had changed far more than she had even realised.
It all sounded rather interesting, as she phrased making sure that ‘sweethearts’ didn’t get into the wrong hands; something told her that she hadn’t been very successful on that account. But she had also learned that mistakes were what made people, and if you constantly tried to take that away from the whole learning curve, well, you would end up with many people who weren’t going to take responsibility for themselves.
“Right, nothing good to write about”, she said with a smirk as she pushed the door open to the small longue filled with vampires; you could feel it in the atmosphere that they stopped for a moment and turned their heads. One could theorise that it was because an ancient vampire stepped over the threshold, but Olive was pretty sure that most of them had noticed the hybrid. Her. But she couldn’t blame them; her species wasn’t a regular thing, mainly because of the hate that there was between vampires and werewolves. But in her instance, it was because her mother had both the werewolf and vampire genes in her, mixed with a little bit of witchery.
“Anywhere you would prefer to sit?” she asked, turning her eyes toward the beautiful woman at her side.

Aria smiled as she received a smirk from the woman who pushed the door open. Aria was used to eyes when she entered a place like this, but she didn’t exclude that it could be Olive that they looked at, but Aria was quite certain that her pretty friend would be more than welcome here, especially when Aria was the one to accompany her. People knew better than to be rude towards an ancient vampire and their company. Aria looked towards the beauty queen beside her with almost glistening eyes, “Honestly as long as it’s next to you, I don’t mind it,” he said before shit bit her lip and gave Olive a wink. “Maybe we can find one of the smaller tables or booths?” she wondered, letting her eyes wander across the room, “Just, so we won’t take up too much space for other guests,” she thought out loud. Now, of course, she could take a booth for six persons all by herself, but maybe they should keep themselves a little friendly with everyone.

Olive could feel how the smile on her lips grew when the woman fired off one of the oldest, yet still affective, pick-up lines. “Smooth”, she hummed before looking around to see if there would be anywhere where it would be a little more private than in the middle of everything, where you couldn’t really talk; now, they were in the company of creatures that had extremely good hearing, but still, one could always believe that you had the privacy if it felt like you had it.
She nodded when Aria posed that they might find a small table so they wouldn’t take up much space; she hadn’t thought an Addams would think about other people, but here they were; Aria kept surprising her, and only in the best way possible. “I think we have some opening spaces over here”, she said with a smile and then took Aria’s hand before snaking their way through to the back were, a smaller booth for what seemed like a four-person booth and dragged her into it so that she would sit next to her. “Here we are”, she hummed with a smile.
