I learned from my mistakes

It was around a month ago she had come back from the states. Getting this stupid George back had been a total bust. Even though she had ended up turning the guy in, it hadn’t been the paycheck that she had hoped for. Therefor she had to keep on working, now that she didn’t have money for taking a holiday. So, here she was. Wandering the streets of Aston once again, looking for a Will Chadwick, that seemingly hadn’t existed since May this year. Which all in all had ben intruding if it wasn’t for the fact that the bounty on this guy’s head wasn’t even worth her time. But in this time, beggars couldn’t be choosers.

Now, luckily for her, the guy’s sweater had been taking into evidence when he had been arrested. He had been let go on bail, it was still a mystery how he had even gotten someone to pay that. But nonetheless it had happened, and the idiot hadn’t even turned up for his hearing with the judge. And one thousand pounds was also money. Not clearly enough for what she had to go through to catch this idiot.

She was walking down the streets when she finally caught onto the scent of a werewolf. A scent of Will Chadwick. A smile formed over her lips, at least this time there wouldn’t be any doubt. Not like when she had tackled Joseph, a man she still didn’t understood why had carved himself into her life as he had done. And now after they had gotten back, she almost hadn’t seen him at all. A soft sigh left her as she caught up to the werewolf. “Will Chadwick?” she called out to him, waiting for his reaction before she did anything. Well, she had learned something since last time.

He turned around as she called his name. A person would just have kept on walking, if it hadn’t been their name called out, right? Her eyes became almost dead from emotions as he tried to be funny. Or whatever the hell it was that he was trying, calling her beautiful? She could almost feel the groan in the back of her nose almost begging to be pushed out and tell him just how little she appreciated his comment.

She put her arms over one another and placed it in front of her chest. Her brow slightly lifted while she watched how he looked at her before he then kept on talking. The other two, William or Willy. Yes that sounded like such a good cover. She then pulled out a small notebook from her jacket and looked down at it before towards him. An almost fake sweet smile formed over her lips. “Well, sorry to burst your little bobble, but I’m pretty sure you are the one I’m looking for” she licked her thump and turned the paper “William Chadwick, towering height, around 95 kilograms, blue eyes” she looked up from her block squinting her eyes almost making it seem like it was hard for her to see in this rain and dark. It wasn’t. “And light brown hair colour, oh, and do you think if I made you strip here that I would find a tattoo on your left shoulder?” she put the notebook away before it was drenched by the water pouring down. “Now, Will, or William, lets not try to talk around this. You are coming with me”

This time she had to pull a big chunk of air through her nose and press it out in a very hearable sigh. He really had a way to just talk around the question or topic. And to be fair, she had been with a person for far too long, and only appreciated because he had been helpful. Now this guy wasn’t helpful at all, he was just plain annoying. “Do you know that that that only a whopping 1% of the world’s population that is over to meters right? So, I think that the coincidence of finding a man with the same name, hair and eye color that is also over to meter tall, should be another person that the one I’m looking for. And oh, then there is the fact that you share the exact same scent” she felt how her nose moved around, something it always did when she was pissed of enough. She rolled her eyes as he kept on that it could have been a shapeshifter and witch. He really did have a lot of excuses for a man that tried to sound innocent. Then he turned around and started running.

“You got to be kidding me” she cursed under her breath, before she started running. “Don’t make you freeze you to the ground, Will, stop!” she yelled after him and picked up speed.

He didn’t stop, he just kept running. And as she turned the corner, she saw how he build momentum and got over the fence before he kept on running. She rolled her eyes as she slowly walked up towards the fence looking upwards. With her powers she made a bridge for ice, picking up the fabric he had left behind and inspected it. Well, if he thought it would be this easy to get rid of her, he would be disappointed. She started running along with the rooftops so he couldn’t see her. Clearly, he wasn’t that well-adjusted with the species that he was. Making it much easier for her to tagging along.

Finally, he stopped, and a smirk formed on her lips. He really did think that he had outrun her? Sweet little pop. She jumped down on balcony just above where he was standing, she was small enough to get through the metal cylinders holding the railing, letting her head pop just over his own head. “Boo” she announced giving him a big fake smile.

Priscilla narrowed her eyes, feeling how her hair cascaded around her face as he took a step forward calling her a stalker. “Cute” she breathed out, lifting a brow. She pushed of and in the air, she made an almost flawless backflip and landed in front of him. She really didn’t like how close this man though he could be too her. “Now, William Chadwick, if you have a complaint about me being a stalker, I would be more than happy to escort you to the police station so you can file a complaint” her finger glided over her lip as she thought about his question about who she was. “I don’t give my name to liars” she said with a big smile looking at him, waiting to see how he would react to that statement. Now she did, because one would know that Joseph was one of the biggest liars on this earth. But he had been the exception, not the rule. And this Will, was starting to tread out on very thin ice.

She had to close her eyes for a moment not to hit him straight in the nose. He was starting to pull this a little too far, trying to pull her around corners and if there was something she didn’t like. Then it was when someone thought they could make a fool of her, and this man, he was starting to get on her last nerve. And you really didn’t want to see what would happen if one would let that last lifeline, she was giving pass away. “Or you could turn around, let man arrest you and take you down to the precinct” she grabbed her handcuffs and let them dangle from her hand as she kept her eyes locked with his. Showing that she wasn’t playing around, nor cute this time.

“Listen, jackass” she growled as he tried to be smart with her, almost as if he were offended with how she was treating him. She didn’t really care what he thought, she wasn’t here to make friends. Braid hairs, color paint with their fingers. No, she was here to make money, and just because he thought it was unfair, well not her problem.

“You know what, smarty pants, you can take it up with the state department and fill a complaint about me, but right now, just hit me so I have an excuse to turn you around and slap these cuffs on you, and if you don’t hit me I’ll do it either way” she snapped, narrowing her eyes waiting for him to make a move, hopefully he would just make it much easier for her to turn him around and slap the handcuffs on him. And if he was going to prove a challenge, she would use her powers and freeze him to the ground. Because right now, she had enough of his bullshit.

At first one would think that he had finally gotten her to shut up. She just looked at him as he tried to turn it around. Giving her that alpha male crap about her needing to listen to him, that he wasn’t going anywhere. That if she took him with her, he would just leave again. Before adding he was still a loyal citizen.

As he snapped at her, threatening her, she leaned towards him, and her mouth split open as she started laughing. Oh, and she found it amusing. Very much so. “Yes, I am laughing at you by the way” she shook her head and gave her a very big, almost psychopathic smile. “Go on then Will, show me just how dangerous you are” now the smile was completely gone, and the next words were said with a very stoic face. “before I freeze your ass to the ground and take you with me by force”

An amused smirk formed over her lips as she could see, just how he reacted on her words. So, the little wolf had some bark after all. Well, too bad that he was only a created werewolf and not a pureblood, then the fight might have been a fair one after all. Her advantage was that people always underestimated her. Especially since she looked like just any pretty blond girl. But she had used so much of her life, becoming what she was now. Trained to figure out what had happened to her mother and her brother. She had chosen a path where she through her job could keep tracking down leads. And now she had found him? And he didn’t even want her in her life, then why should she keep on with this act and not just become who she was destined to be. The black sheep, the daughter that you never talked about and always tried to forget was even yours. She wanted to set fire to the world and call it rain.

Priscilla raised her brow as he told her that they would fight, and if he were to win. Then she had to let him go and forget that he was ever here. But also help him? Why on earth would she ever do that. And people thought she was the crazy one. Taking a step back she watched how he made stones gathered them together to form a shield. Still with an unimpressed face she looked at him waiting for whatever he had in mind. A slight annoyed sigh left her as he threw the stones towards her. Using her own ability, she chose to create a thin but hard shield of ice so it wouldn’t hit her. But as he tried to kick out after her, she had to move so he had an opening to run away again. Really? Running? Again. She tapped the ground and ice followed after him in a quick speed to try to capture his feet or make him glide and fall while slowly following him. This was getting quite tedious. "Really, the puppy is just going to try to run away?" She said with a chilling and annoyed voice.

Priscilla just stood there as he started to move around. Jumping up. Grabbing the fire escape and then crawl up the ladder. What on earth? She took a step to the side, letting her eyes follow the energic little puppy, as it finally managed to run to stairs and ascended to the top of the roof. What on earth was this, had she just stepped into a marvel movie, and she was some kind of wicked villain trying to stop spiderman from the quest to good? Weren’t all superheroes a little ‘misunderstood’ and could evade the law for the ‘greater good’. She huffed a little annoyed, still standing at the same spot she watched how he jumped over where she was standing to the next roof. She closed her eyes, letting out a very tired sigh. Her hand found her face, slowly rubbing her nose bridge as if a giant headache was taking a hold of her. And there was, but her headache had a name. William Chadwick.
“Oh, for the love of god” she hissed, wondering if it was even worth it at this point. With a flicker of both her hands she took the ice she had put on the ground and made a perfect staircase up towards the roof where he had disappeared too. Following the trace of his scent she picked up speed and tried to find a route that would end up with her placing herself in front of him at some point.
“Really thought you could get away that easy?” she asked lifting a brow crossing her arms in front of her chest.

She chuckled; he was rather cute. Thinking he even had a chance to begin with. He didn’t seem that well connected to his werewolf side, and he was a created one after all. Priscilla might be young; in some eyes she would even be but a child. But she had used many years of honing the crafts of hunting and tracking. Mostly because she had wanted to find her brother. But that all seemed to have been rather irrelevant, because she hadn’t been fast enough in her search. Now he had another family and didn’t want anything to do with her. Which was okay, it had stung, but she wasn’t there to force anyone to do something they didn’t want too.
Well, that wasn’t true. She was about to force this jackass to do as she had tried to make him do since she had got him.
“Okay, Iron fist, now that you’re done jumping around like some monkey, how about an offer then you go with me to the police, I get the money – then I get you out of the police station and we split the money, isn’t that better than all of this running around?” she asked, raising a brow, placing her hands on her hips. Not even breathless from all this running around. If need be, she could go all night.

She lifted her brow and crossed her arms as he started to take about making demands. Or, as he said it, that he needed insurance that she wasn’t going to fuck him over. “Darling, please, don’t flatter yourself, I don’t usually go for –“ she uncrossed one of her arms and waved it in front of him with a delighted smile on her lips. As if she hadn’t just offended him. Because to be fair, he was rather good looking, and had it been in another setting she might even had been a little more pleasant. But he had made her work for it, and if there was something Priscilla didn’t do, then it was working for it.
Her head titled a little, as he started offering her what she would get if she agreed to his deal. “With what money are you going to pay for the drinks?” she asked, rude, probably yes. Did she care? No, not really. “Half” she started laughing, the nerve this guy had. “What, you both get to take me out, and you get half of my money? You got to be kidding me, give me a better offer or I’ll freeze you and just bring you along and take all the money for myself” she gave him a charming smile, not really aligning with what she had just said.

She folded her lips and gave him a couple of nods, clearly not buying his pick-up line. But at this point she let him speak, almost in a way, letting him dig the hole had already put himself even deeper. She narrowed her eyes, that had been a little too easy. He would, just like that, let her decide how much of the bounty she could give him? What if she didn’t give him anything.
“Fine, my name is Emma” she told him, there was no way she was giving him her real name. And if it made the whole thing easier, then she would go out with him. “Alright, handsome, where do you propose we go?” she asked raising a brow at him, who the hell was this guy anyway. There was something about him, she couldn’t quite place it. Maybe that was also the only reason why she even agreed to this.
