| LOCATION: The pedestrian street, Gaia, Aston DATE 1st of July 2021 TIME late evening WEATHER 25 degrees OUTFIT LinkTOPIC FOR @Hannah xx _____________________ He wondered why his father had let Julianne and Elenora have all the fun with this country. Gaia was filled with these disgusting creatures, finding a human here was like finding a needle in a haystack. Quentin was bottled up with rage and revulsion from the second he had stepped into this godforsaken land, but now he was here and it was time to change things. Quentin walked down the pedestrian street, the humidity was draining him from energy, but thank god for the fact he had work in warmer weather under his father's training. After his brothers had passed away because of vampires, Quentin's father had taken a harder hand on Quentin - he couldn't lose anymore sons - and with Julianne moving to Bulgaria for a while and Elenora finding herself with Archie. It had just been Quentin home training alone with his father, and his father had never been the same after losing his wife nor his sons. Neither had Quentin. Just like Julianne, Quentin had his own tracking device to detect the supernatural. A ring on his left hand with the same blue gemstone, lighting up a bit the closer he came to a group of vampires in an alley. They had lured a girl into the dark, but clearly not afraid of the light evenings. The worst thing that had happened was witches giving vampires magical rings so they could walk in the sun. Quentin couldn't see the girl from where he was, he couldn't see her face, but she was clearly overwhelmed by something - perhaps it was the chatter, yeah, he didn't hear anything else but nonsense himself whenever someone inhuman spoke. Quentin took a few steps closer before he whistled at the vampires to get their attention. "Oh come on guys, that seems a little unfair - don't you think?" Quentin lashed his arms out to the side with that boyish grin on his lips. The front vampire took a step closer making him see who the girl was. Hannah. More anger boiled in his system, but he remained focused on the task ahead. "I do hate bad manners," he sighed a bit before taking narrowing his eyes a little looking at the strings he saw between the vampires. The bond that made them friends, it would be easy just to kill them, but way more fun to just watch them rip each other's throats out, so he tabbed into their bond, turning the loyalty into betrayal. The love or whatever these beasts called it, into hate, and then the war came. The vampire who had almost made his way to Quentin turned around looking at the other six, and it didn't take long before they started attacking each other like the soulless creatures they were. Quentin moved his eyes to Hannah. "Han, it's okay, it's me, hurry over here," he waved her over towards him, but his eyes didn't look too long away from the vampires. Even if his powers did have a strong grib on them, you could never really allow yourself to put all your faith in your powers. Rule number one was to never turn your back to the enemy, and he had no intention on doing so. And the first four out of the six had already dropped dead, dead for good this time, while the last two remained fighing.

| Hannah had multiple times the last year gone to Gaia in the search of her sister. She knew she had been here, and she hadn’t gone home to New York. So, she searched for her sister, and anyone who might have a clue of her presence she questioned. And today it had been a group of pale men. They told her they had seen Madie in the alley. Believing them truly, even though the tune in their voices had been somewhat sly, she got into the alley, only to get cornered by the pale men. They started talking to her, breathing more and more heavily. She put one of her hands to her head as she started to get a headache and they seemed more and more bright and clear; almost as if she could see anything on their body. Any detail. Beauty marks. Moles. Freckles. Scars. Threads in the fabric of their clothes. Pale skin. Bright eyes. Black veins. Fangs. Wait, what?
They teased her. Poked her. Pushed. Though they were quite gentle for the beings they were, every touch felt icing cold; almost as if she were getting frostbites. She tried to back away while both of her hands found their way to her ears, and she closed her eyes shut. It only helped until her back collided with the wall behind her. She opened her eyes again and felt how she was getting overwhelmed with impressions. Even the fingers upon her ears felt like it was too much noise.
Someone spoke and caught the group’s attention, making them look around. Her eyes were quick to look at the figure who had come to her rescue. Quentin. Long time no see. It didn’t take long for him before the group started to fight each other violently. It was traumatizing to watch, and she pressed herself even more into the wall as she watched them. The smell of blood was overwhelming. The recognizable voice called for her, making her eyes glide from the fighting group to Quentin. Her gaze traveled between the group and him. They were hissing, shouting, and screaming. Feeling incredibly dizzy she walked along the walls, and as soon as she got far enough, she ran towards Quentin and stood behind him letting one of her hands rest on his upper arm hoping that it would calm her down. “Let’s go,” she whispered to him as the last two were fighting.

| He didn't notice how she walked along side the walls, his eyes was locked on the target in case of the unexpected should happen. But, when she finally ran towards him, was the only moment for a few seconds where he allowed his eyes away from the vampires fighting. He made sure she got behind him, not wanting to expose her for danger, even if they were standing in the middle of a battle field. Let's go, her whisper reached him, made his eyes flicker for a second trying to convince him to look at her, but he couldn't he had already kept his eyes away from the vampires for too long. "Yeah, just two seconds -" he clicked his tongue a little, clearly fixated on who was going to win. Then again, the last one standing would most likely just realize what he had done, the stings was broken after death, nothing to manipulate - Quentin knew this, and risk having them followed when he could simply just end the poor bastard right here and right now? He couldn't see why not. His eyes watched the last two vampires fight till only one of them was left standing. The vampire just stood there for a small second looking down at the bodies before him. If Quentin believed in that these creatures had the ability to feel anything, he would have believed the pained half scream of sorrow the vampire had as he cried out for his dead friends. He could believe in the fury that fired from his eyes as he looked at Quentin. But Quentin did not believe that any of these feelings were real, not coming from a vampire - or any inhuman for that matter. They didn't feel. They had no heart, no soul. Just disgusting, toxic greedy creatures. It was all a trick to make people feel sorry for them, the only reason they had stayed undead for so long, was because of their master manipulative behavior.
"You don't need to see this, run, I will find you," he placed his hand on Hannah's to remove it from his arm. "Now, go," Quentin didn't take his eyes from the vampire in front of him. It was up to her to run, if she had it in her to do so. Either way, Quentin was in his zone walking closer to the vampire, depriving the vampire of his sight and his hearing. Seeing how the vampire freaked out made a mischievous smirk curl up on the hunter's lips, before he walked closer - knowing the vampire might be able to feel the brush of air when he moved. Quentin was rather skilled in the way his ability worked, he knew he could just have taken away everything, making it easier and less painful for the victim. But he played it, he liked seeing the frustration in their eyes before he shut the rest down - the panic was still there, like a deer looking into the headlights of a car. Then ge grabbed a smaller wooden stake from his belt and spiked it through the vampires heart.
He let the vampire fall to the ground, watching how the skin turned grey and then the undead was dead. He bended down to pull the stake back out of the vampires chest to try the blood off in the dead man's shirt. Then he turned to Hannah, not sure if she had run or stayed despite him telling her to run. |

| Just two seconds. What did he mean by that? Her eyes stayed as glued on the pale icy beings. It had been quite tough already to watch them break their necks and what not. They had been so violent. The noises were constantly on replay in her mind. The clicking with his tongue made her narrow her eyes shortly as the headache got worse. He seemed to be quite occupied with the fight and true enough, it didn’t last long before there was one left standing, screaming in pure pain and sorrow. It ached her heart to see the how everything had turned out; almost as if they had been hypnotized. It was horrible to watch. The eyes glanced towards the two humans, and Hannah could feel how shivers ran down her spine. They should get out of here right now. He touched her arm, telling her to run; to go. But she couldn’t, even though she in her mind thought about running like there was no day tomorrow. She felt like calling the police, to scream for help – anything. But she stood frozen as he left her. She folded her arms around herself waiting for anything bad to happen. What was he even going to do? He had just seen how they had killed each other. Did he want to calm it down or knock it out?
It didn’t seem to response to him getting closer, except for some kind of awareness. She could hear how something wooden was taking out from his belt and how it soon after pierced the torso of Quentin’s opponent. Her throat felt tight, and it made her unable to say anything. Her eyes were burning, her body freezing, and her nose overstimulated. It was hurting her head. As he picked the wooden stake up she looked away, trying to process what she had just witnessed. She hadn’t felt present in her own body. It was like she had been some kind of spirit; watching it all from outside of her body. She could hear how he tried to dry the stake and slowly straightened back up, making her glance back at him, before she turned her head in his direction too. She wanted to comment or at least say something, but as she tried so could only swallow a lump in her throat. She tightened the grip around herself before she slowly turned around, without losing too much balance, waiting for him to catch up to her and hoping that he would somehow believe she hadn’t been looking.

| He walked up to her with his eyebrows slightly pressed together for a short moment, she had seen it. It was up to her really, he knew her family had been sheltering her from this part of the world, the hunt, the killing, unlike her sister Madelaine and their brother. Quentin had never quite understood why, why would they shelter her from something like this? It just put a target on her back not being able to defend herself against these monsters - so why was she even here in a land of monsters? Quentin placed the stake back in his belt, still not taking his eyes off her, but also didn't quite know what to say. He placed his arm around her her back, holding her by her waist as she seemed like someone who could fall any second - and she was going to fall anywhere as long as he was there. "What's wrong Han?" He asked after a while and stopped and turned his front towards her, his arm sliding slowly around her back to the other side of her waist, still not letting go. His light eyes looked into hers trying to find out what was wrong. It wasn't like she smelled of alcohol and bad intentions, yet she seemed so overly stimulated by something. Had the monsters done something to her? Was the first thing he wondered, it wouldn't surprise him. Quentin looked shortly around them, there wasn't anyone near them right now. He could take her back to the place his father had been about to build before he had passed away. The headquarter in Aston he wanted Julianne to work with while she stayed here, or at least the hunter part of it. Now that Quentin had made his way here, he might as well do it too.
His eyes looked over her while waiting for a reply to his question, trying to scan if she was hurt in any way, even if it didn't seem like it. "Hey, look at me, eyes on me," Quentin said with a lower voice, trying to regain a more stable eye contact to Hannah. Tapping into her senses was easy, but something entirely different it was like they were way above the average, which had him frown a bit for a second. He tried to numb them a bit, at least reach the average exposure of her senses. "Better?" He wasn't sure if it was just her doing it to herself or if it was one of the vampires who had done a number on her, but for now at least he could help, just a little. |

| She hadn’t meant to watch this. She had wanted to go and trust that he would come for her, but somehow, she just stayed and watched. Fulfilling the trauma. He got up to her and wrapped an arm around her. Normal people might’ve been a bit jumpy, but she had already felt the wind before he got close enough. Though it somehow felt weird, it was nice to have someone to support her right now. What was wrong? Many things were wrong. She was searching for her sister who had been missing for a year. She had been lured into an alley being teased and played with like a cat did with a mouse to raise the adrenaline in the blood. She had seen them murder each other and shortly after Quentin killing the last one standing. She didn’t reply, but she noticed how he stopped and turned towards her, making her turn slightly, mostly staring at the fibers of his t-shirt. She wanted to reply, but once again it didn’t seem like her voice agreed. It took a short moment before she raised her eyes to about his neckline. “It’s just a little much,” she whispered a little hoarse. He ordered her to look at him and her eyes slowly traveled up. Pores, hair, fine lines, scars which no one would notice. She saw everything. She frowned at bit when everything seemed to dimmer down. This was very unusual even though she had good and bad days. It was nice to notice less. “What did you do?” she asked quietly. He had clearly done something and it didn’t take more than a second before she had put two and two together. “I- Can you- Can you do more on my hearing?” she asked still with her quite voice. What he had done was enough to lower the headache, but she surely wouldn’t mind more if it wasn’t too much to ask.

| What did you do? He took a sharper breath in, if it wasn't for the use of his powers, it could have been about just everything that had happened since he had stepped into the alley. But he could almost sense how the relief loosened some of the tension in her body. Quentin frowned slightly by the question on if he could do some more on her hearing, with a soft nod he numbed the sense of hearing a bit more. He didn't want to shut it down, knowing he couldn't increase it on his own. "There," he gave her a softer smile, tilting his head just a little bit while his eyes still scanned her facial expression regarding everything. It wasn't often he used his powers outside of his hunts, other than when he didn't want to listen to his sisters yelling at him or try to argue with him. However, he did usually use his powers to help his clan members as well, in case of injuries he could numb the pain they felt - making them work passed their natural limits, which could be debatable if it was actually help at all.
"I live not far from here, we should get going before more of those lunatics arrive," he stated looking shortly back. It wasn't because he wouldn't mind going on a little killing spree, but not when Hannah was here - the last thing he needed was her parents giving him a lecture on why she shouldn't be involved in these messes. With a nod to the side he indicated that they needed to get going, and with his hand still on her waist he lightly pulled her with him towards the manor in the upper glass area of Aston. Of course his ring lighted up as they walked passed some people, but right now he just mentally noted them, their faces and who they were with. |

| It was almost as if things were normally shouting at her, it was turned down into a normal volume. She closed her eyes for a moment, taking a deeper breath in before she breathed out. She could feel how the tension from both her head, senses and muscles lessened. It was pleasurable, even though it didn’t lessen the replay of the voices from the group as they had started to kill each other. She leaned her head back a little and didn’t really feel any dizziness. “Thanks,” she replied and realized just how low she spoke. She had been so used to speaking softly on her bad waves or days, that it was weird hearing herself speaking in such a quite tone, when she usually felt like she spoke quite normal. Sensitive hearing had many downsites.
She took her head back up and opened her eyes. It was weird not to notice every single detail about him on the same level as she usually did. His voice was pleasurable to listen to now, even though the things he said made her eyes follow his to the bloodbath. The smell of blood was still there, but it didn’t give her a headache like before. She looked back at him, “Yeah let’s go,” she replied agreeing with a more normal voice, but still slightly hoarse. She didn’t mind walking close to him, but it was still slightly odd thinking about. She knew her parents were hunters and that the D’Avalos were hunters too, but she hadn’t really expected this. How could any of them handle such things? They started walking away from the crime scene and the thought about calling the police came into her mind again. Shouldn’t someone remove the bodies or something? They turned around a corner to exit the small valley and she put the thought aside. They walked somewhat close to the walls, her being closest to them. As they walked, she noticed how it seemed like his ring was radiating a color whenever they passed someone. She wondered if it was something specific but didn’t think much of it. They walked pas a slim tall woman in a leather skirt and white top. Quentin’s ring reflected clearly on the leather skirt. The girl’s skin was spotted red, and her eyes covered by sunglasses. She couldn’t walk straight and carried a half empty bottle of Jack Daniels. This girl specifically caught Hannah’s attention and without knowing, when the girl put the flask towards her lips to drink, Hannah improved the girl’s taste and smell. The girl only managed to pass them before she spit out the alcohol and started to puke. The girl was clearly under some kind of influence, and Hannah didn’t even notice that it was herself who changed the senses. Hannah shortly looked over their shoulders watching the ill girl before she corrected her sight forward. “How long have you been in Gaia?” she wondered and glanced up at him.

| Walking down the alley side, they saw lot of different types of people. The people who went to go to the next big party, the people who clearly belonged to the richer side of town with their power suits and briefcases. Being knew in town, he had no circle of friends or co-workers, no one to really boost his image yet. However, he did count on Elenora's skills to promote the family company once he got settled. It shouldn't be an issue, the family company was already known internationally, even through Quentin wasn't the one in his father's testimony who was sat as the next ceo - which annoyed the shit out of Quentin. It had always been meant to be Frederik who was the one that should be in that chair, but his brother was dead, so why hadn't his father changed the bloody testimony?
Quentin's eyes darted at the girl they walked passed, half if not totally wasted, he didn't pay more attention to her than that as they came to the main street. He looked back shortly however as the girl started to puke, but then again, it wasn't his responsibility to help her, so he kept on walking. How long have you been in Gaia? Quentin took a slightly deeper breath in, not that it was a complicated answer to reply to, it was most likely the most easy question to reply. "I flew in a little over a week ago, so not long. My sisters have been here for a little longer, so you know, I wanted to catch up," he replied with a small shrug. It wasn't entirely wrong. Elenora had been missing for a while, and even though Julianne had called him and told she was okay, and about their father's death - Quentin didn't want for them to deal with all of it alone - that or he didn't want to deal with everything alone. Time would tell. "My father was killed earlier this month by some witches, Julianne called and told me. I just didn't like sitting back in New York not doing anything," he confessed with a sigh, shortly before he started shaking his head a little bit. "I heard Maddie is missing as well? Perhaps I can help, now that I'm here, might as well make good use of my time." |

| Hannah nodded slightly by the response that his sister had been in Gaia for a longer period, and he had come to visit them. It didn’t take long before he added that his father had died, and she quickly looked towards him. “What? I-I’m so sorry for your loss,” she said with a small frown and worried eyebrows. D’Avalos had been hit by a dark cloud of deaths. It had started already ten – or even eleven years ago. And then Frederik and the mother, and now it was the father. She couldn’t help but worry who was going to be the next in line. Quentin, Julianne or Elenora?
He redirected the question to her, asking her about Madie. She looked forward while she swallowed the small lump with automatically formed in her throat whenever she thought of her big sisters disappearance. She nodded at bit to the fact that she was gone, before she looked back up at him, “I don’t want to waste your time – it’s been a year after all,” she said and shrugged on her shoulders, “But… If you don’t have any errands to do, I would gladly get your help,” she replied softly with a kind warm smile, trying to suppress the memory of the dead group of people in the alley. “I guess you’re pretty good at finding people?” she chuckled. Maybe she should’ve contacted D’Avalos when she traveled to Gaia the first time. They were so smart and talented at finding the right people, so why wouldn’t they be able to find missing person? Hannah had indeed wasted her time not asking them for advice or something alike.

| His eyes met with hers as she said she was sorry for his loss. Yeah, so was he. It was just him and his sisters now, which was weird enough to say as it was. It would take some time to get used to, and Quentin was most likely the one who had felt the change the hardest, having to take over the clan was not something he thought he would have been the one to do, or at least till Elijah and Frederik both died. Then again, he wasn't the only leader - Julianne was there too, and Elenora even if she wasn't part of the clan by blood. Quentin took a sharper breath in and sighed a bit once again. "Yeah," was his only reply towards that. Emotional vulnerability what was that even?
It wasn't like he didn't understand the worry of having a sister missing, because he did. Last year when he had heard that Julianne had been in a coma after a witch had burned her, he had felt like his entire world was falling apart. He would have raged war in this place if his father had let him come here. Luckily, Julianne had been healed and back in the game, and thank god Annika hadn't lost her mother. "Oh Han, don't you know by now? You could never waste my time," he pointed out with a softer chuckle. "I will see what I can do, I have a few meetings here and there, but I'm sure I can make room to help," he assured with a warming smile while looking at her. Quentin chuckled a bit by her other question, couldn't help but smile a bit brighter. "I'm pretty good at what I do, if I say so myself," he pointed out, looking shortly out to the street as they passed more supernatural people on their way. "Elenora was kidnapped for a while in the beginning of this year, not to mention her and Archie were taken by some demons last year as well.. Archie didn't survive, so I will do what I can to make sure Madelaine returns home safe." It was natural for him to talk about horror, traumas and all these matters as if they were the most common subjects. Missing and kidnappings in the supernatural world was never a good sign, and over a year, he had to be optimistic to not assume that Madelaine might already be dead, if not in a shape they couldn't save. |

| The reply to her condoles made her aware that it was a sensitive subject; or at least that was what she believed. It was a fresh wound that he had showed her, and she just said that she was sorry. Of course, that didn’t fix anything. But nothing could really fix deaths. Nothing that she knew off at least. Witches probably had spells to resurrect people who they loved, right? But of course, knowing that it was witches who had killed his father he probably wouldn’t ask them for a resurrection. Besides, could they even do that?
She chuckled softly as he said there was no way she could waste his time. She was thankful to know that. A wide smile spread on her lips as he said he would make sure to make room to help her. “Thank you,” she said both to the almost compliment and that he wanted to help her. She wasn’t a waste of time and the thing she was searching for wasn’t something unimportant. He seemed invested in actually helping her and it cheered her up. The smile didn’t lessen as he said that he himself thought himself as good at what he did. Well, she couldn’t really disagree, even though she didn’t really know how the vampires ended up fighting each other. But they had done that and he had taken care of the last one standing. Hannah noticed how the ring continued to glow when they walked past most people in the town. He spoke of Elenora who had been though some traumatic things almost as if it was an everyday conversation. He reassured her that he would help Hannah make Madelaine return home safe, and it made her hope go to they sky. “Thank you. Thank you so much,” she said truly appreciating that he wanted to help. “And I’m sorry about your sister,” he added and let one of her hands, which were wrapped around her own body find it’s way to his hand to caress it a bit. She let go of his hand again before she wrapped it back around herself. “So you live at a hotel, or have you actually moved here?” she wondered with a soft smile.

| Quentin hadn't spoken to Elenora since January this month, usually they talked every other month, depending if there was anything important like a hunt or something interesting. He wasn't really the best to pick up the phone and call his sisters. Hannah's gratitude was refreshing, but everything about her was like a cold breeze in the humite summer weather, making him smile. Once again she said she was sorry about what had happened. Quentin wasn't used to people saying sorry, it wasn't a word he used, but perhaps he was the person who needed to take it in use most of all. One person who deserved most of his sorrys was Julianne, but he also knew she was most likely the last one to get one. It took too much of his pride, sadly. "Yeah, likewise. I haven't spoken to her, but I trust Jules on it," he breathed out looking ahead of them. Of course he worried about Elenora, he couldn't afford to lose more siblings and he was tempted to just go to her and shake out the information about who had taken her, so he could find that satan and end the monster himself. However, he did know better and could control his temper - up to a point. The small touch from one of her hands on his, made him hold his breath for a split second till she let go again.
"My father bought a manor before he died, wanting to move parts of the hunters here, and the company -" he replied to her question looking back at her shortly. "I reckon he wanted Julianne to move in there, but she hadn't, so I was like, why don't I just do it?" Quentin chuckled a bit and kept walking, crossing a few roads till they reached the upper class area with all the massive penthouses. The big manor was something, hidden behind enchanted gates making it unable for supernatural creates to pass unless invited in. See, the D'Avalos did hate witches, but it didn't mean they didn't keep a few unlucky as servant to use magic the way the hunters wanted. Typical unlucky witches having the fate of being mate to a hunter, and not wanting to die. What a fate to have. But the spells were worth it, then they at least served a purpose. He opened the gates and let them inside. Making their way through the path to the manor, with the most beautiful flowers along side the driveway where they walked. Flowers all the way to the front door of the manor and let her inside. Luckily the place had air conditioning making the room nice to enter. |

| Hannah had manners and was always polite. She excused herself, kept mature eye contact and made sure that everyone felt welcome around her. No one was going to feel unnoticed around her – unless she had her headaches. But at times, like right now, where he had dimmed her senses, everything was fine.
Ears focused on his story about the manor his father bought eyes on the road, she followed alongside him. It sounded like a nice plan, to have a manor for hunters in Gaia. After all, there seemingly was a lot of unpleasant supernaturals. Not that Hannah believed that every supernatural should be killed, but just the… No maybe not any of them, because she still felt bad for the group, even though they had been mean to her. She pulled a small comfortable smile as he explained that Julianne hadn’t moved in, so he chose to. “It sounds like a good plan,” she chuckled with him. She didn’t know how long she was going to search for her sister here, but she would at least spend a couple of weeks. No matter what, she knew she would get overwhelmed on her trip.
They finally reached a gate which he opened and let her in. The sight was like a fairytale, and for a short moment she had to remember to follow him, being stunned for a mere second. Her eyes were occupied with the flowers color in the golden hour light. She wished to pick them up, smell them, feel them, listen to the leaves and… Her curiosity awoke and turned up the volume of her ability, making every sense go nuts, overruling what he had done. She instantly felt a headache spread in her forehead. She made a small grunt and placed her hand on top of her nose and closed her eyes, hoping it would help. The dizziness came quickly anyway, and she stumbled into his side, almost leaning against him as they walked, even though she could feel how her body was getting tired of the overstimulation and wanted to lay down.

| He chuckled a bit, yeah, perhaps Julianne would move in here now that he was here. Jolene had given him a heads up in his sisters needing to remember who they were, which was also another reason why he was here. It didn't sound like Elenora to go soft, which had him wonder what had happened. His wife was perhaps the only one knowing he actually was in town, and he had given her the adresse for the manor in case she needed a place to stay. Quentin didn't why the gartners had made the garden look the way they had, or why it was important. But he had to believe it was for it to look like they were what they where: a rich spoiled family, who knew what they were doing. His eyes turned to Hannah once again, seeing how curious she was almost like a child, wanting to explore everything. However, the curiosity only lasted shortly as she made a small grunt. Perhaps it was better to just get inside quickly. The way she stumbled into his side, made him aware that her senses were overloaded once again. And even if Quentin would love to once again tab into it and numb it, he couldn't just go around and do that all the time - but if it got too much, and couldn't just be excused with her being tired, than some power being out of hand. He still didn't know she had powers after all. What he did know was that she was beyond exhausted, which could also be excused by a lot of things one of them being the overstimulated mind he could only imagine what a tool it would have taken on the brain - and he had no idea where she had been at before running into the vampires in the alley. But the way she leaned on him, made him bend a little to place his arm by the back of her knees, and lifted her up while having the other arm support her back. Quentin walked passed the entrance, nodding to a few servants who kept the house running, and kept going till he was in the larger living room. Here he placed Hannah on the largest couch, and sat down on the coffee table for a moment.
"Can I get you anything?" He asked and once again pressed his eyebrows together looking slightly concerned with her wellbeing. Maybe she just needed rest, there was extra rooms in the manor, so it wouldn't be hard to find her a place to sleep. |

| Hannah could get excited by the little things, maybe because she always tried to stay as little stimulated a possible, because she knew that too much, would be way too much. But whenever something like this was put right in front of her, she couldn’t really help herself. It wasn’t like she hadn’t seen roses like this before, but just because she never really got to enjoy them. She just wanted a normal kind of stimulation, but it always got too much. Even food could be a trouble to eat from time to time. It had to be bland and boring so her senses wouldn’t go nuts. Salat, cucumbers and water. Before she knew of it, her feet had no contact with the ground, but Quentin had lifted her up in his arms and carried her. She didn’t think much about it, but her free hand found it’s way around his neck to make herself feel even more secure in his arms. This also made her face turn more towards his chest and shoulder. Besides from smelling his smell and learning it, she could smell his cologne. That too was quite overwhelming. Each little note in the cologne was easily remembered but it gave her a headache. Luckily it seemed like a very subtle one, and he had been wearing it since he got outside this morning. If she was able to, she would sort out the cologne and only smell him – that was way more pleasant. Trying not to let the headache make her puke nor cry she kept her eyes and mouth shut and tried to hold her breath; though last mentioned was difficult. As soon as they got inside it was like the air condition cleared most scents and it already lightened the headache. She was then placed on a large couch, and she immediately got comfortable just by laying there. As soon as he let go of her, she let her arm let go of him. Her eyes opened slowly, and she took a deep breath in through the mouth before she pressed on the bridge of her nose between the eyes. “Eh… A glass of water might do wonders,” she replied softly. Her senses already started to lower themselves, but it was still nice to get some water into her system. She removed the hand from between her eyes. “And Quen?” she said before he got to go or order anything of the servants. She placed a gentle hand on his knee to make sure that she didn’t speak to softly to get his attention. “Don’t be worried… I’m used to it,” she tried to reassure him with a soft smile.

| A glass of water was easy to provide, it wouldn't take much to get that. Quentin got up from the table where he otherwise had been seated till, she spoke. He recalled having seen her like this before, overwhelmed by something, he had always thought it was a migraine or something in that category. He had never really thought further to the explanation being her senses were on full overload. He could feel the pressure from her powers when he had numbed them, usually no one resisted it there was nothing blocking or make him actually work, to use his powers. He stepped towards the exit of the living room when she mentioned him by his nickname, making him spin around moving his blue eyes towards her. Saying she was used to it. That sentence made him thrown a bit, he had heard it too often. Julianne said it often, he never dared to go into detail with her - hoping if she needed to, she would rely on him, but he knew there was things she didn't trust him with, which was fair. "Just because you are used to it, it doesn't mean someone can't take care of you," he pointed out on his next inhale. He somewhat knew she said it to only bring him comfort, let him know that he didn't need to freak out - and it didn't. He just wanted to make her feel comfortable.
Quentin made his way out to the kitchen, picking up his phone shortly. Jolene had called him a few times, but he never had his phone on when he was hunting - it was risky if he forgot to put it on silent. He had even once experienced a demon who could manipulate with technology. He quickly texted her that he was at the manor, making her know he had made it home after another hunt. Even Julianne had texted him, which made him chuckle a bit for a short moment. Then he filled up the water with ice water before returning to Hannah in the living room. He placed the glass on the coffee table and sat down next to the glass. "How long, have you had these powers?" He asked curiously and frowned a bit. |

| He was quick to get up from his seat on the table, and her eyes followed him somewhat lazily, still overwhelmed. But he reacted on his nickname and almost spun around to look at her. She couldn’t really help but pull a soft almost nonexistent smile when he mentioned that it didn’t mean people shouldn’t care for her. She closed er eyes again, to shut her own senses down a bit, and turned her head back to rest properly.
Not that it had taken a long time for him to get the glass of water, but the fact that she had closed her eyes and there weren’t that many sounds near her made everything lower her arousal almost making her fall asleep. She could hear how he found a glass and filled it, how servants wandered around cleaning, and how her own body moved on the sofa while she just breathed. And now she heard how he walked back towards her from the kitchen and soon enough to place the glass on the coffee table and sitting down where he had been sitting before, on the table. Slowly she opened her eyes and leaned over to grab the glass before she too a smaller sip. She could almost taste every mineral from the water. And then he asked something that she never, ever had thought to hear. How long have you had these powers? Thinking it was somewhat a crazy though that she would have powers and not really believing she was capable of such thing, she quickly turned her head away as the water was spat out in pure disbelief. She covered her mouth and tried to dry it as she looked back at him. “I’m sorry about that… What?” she wondered frowning a bit, only to explain her point of view. “I don’t have powers or abilities. I’m not special or anything like that. I’m just me. Overly sensitive Hannah,” she spoke, maybe more to convince herself than him. While she spoke, she started to think about if she actually had powers, but never had it gotten confirmed. She wouldn’t even think about the possibilities. Maybe she was able to have normal senses?

| Quentin raised his brows quite surprised, while a small groan left his lips. Her parents still hadn't told her about the powers she could have, and if she had been like this her entire life? And they still hadn't told her? She bloody knew about things that made this world, why not give her a fair chance getting some control? It bugged him. It really bugged him and even more it also bugged him that he was annoyed so much. Her entire expression told him more than words ever could, she didn't even believe it. "You sure are just you, but you got some powers, I'm sure of it," he confidently replied looking into her eyes. "I deprive senses, in others and myself - that is what I did on you earlier," he told crossing his arms a bit. "Usually I go from normal to a little lower, but yours? They were a whole other league going into," he added while straightening his back a little bit more.
"I can't believe your parents ever told you, or assumed there was something to look into," he mumbled a bit annoyed for himself, but didn't really care if she listened in on it or not. Quentin just didn't find it fair, to not look into something like that. "The good thing is, if it is powers.. which I am very confident in that it is, then it's something you can work on. Learn to control," he gave her a smaller smile still not having his eyes move away from her. |

| Hannah tried to keep her frown, but it was difficult, because she really wanted to believe what he told her. It just seemed a little to fairytale like, that she would have powers. She knew the basics about the supernaturals, but nothing more. She didn’t know that she, simple and innocent, Hannah could possess such powers as he told her she had. She nodded slightly, she understood that he could do such thing, or at least she had been able to add two and two and figure it out. He explained how her senses seemed to be a whole other league to deprive. It was weird having him tell her that. Could her senses really be… Magical?
He started nagging onto her parents, which made her frown even more. They had done everything they could! Given her medicine, water and all the special care they could. Even a silent chamber for the worst days. He tried to convince her that he was so sure that she had powers, but she still didn’t really believe it. “Quen, no- You have to stop for a second,” she said and straightened a bit up taking a small sip of the water. “I’ve had my sensitivity all my life,” she said, even though she somehow knew that it had gotten exceptionally worse when she had turned four. She didn’t know that she had lost control of something she once had control over. “There is nothing to control here,” she shook her head, “My parents did everything they could to control my senses. Everything,” she insisted. She took a sharper breath in, placing a hand on her forehead, shaking her head a bit. She wasn’t feeling ill, but she could just feel how her temper at gotten to her, even though it never really did. “Apologies,” she sighed. “If you really think I can… I don’t know, overload my own and others senses and learn to control it…” she couldn’t really believe that she was saying her next words. It seemed to weird. But if he really thought she could learn to control it, she would rather know how to than push the opportunity to get some piece in life away. “Then I think you’ve got to tell me how you do it,” she didn’t really now if it was easier to tell or to show, but she was willing to give it a try. She had to, right? What in the world could she loose?

| You have to stop for a second, he didn't. He wasn't capable of stopping and listening when he had set his thoughts on something. Quentin was a hundred procent sure that she had some abilities, and hunters who were raising other children to fight the supernatural, he found it irresponsible, even if they had done everything to help her. She was clearly in denial. In his opinion at least. Nothing to control there? There was everything to control. Everything, everything she claimed, but the thought made him sick, and hadn't he been so good at holding up a mask whenever he fought something was disgusting or completely sick, she would most likely have punched him in the face by not believing her statement. He was disgusted by it still, them not having found a solution to the problem. His eyes followed her hand's motion to her forehead, shaking her head, he was right, he knew he was right. But it seemed like she was slightly getting the idea that he could be right, that there was something there could be done. "I reckon, that your powers are very similar to mine, just reversed," he theorized and took a slightly sharper breath in. How he did it? Quentin took a sharper breath in, like his first ability he had them for ages, when his second power with the senses had been triggered when he was five it had been in an argument, where Griffin had teased him. All he knew was that few seconds later Griffin had freaked out because he could see a thing. It had taken years granting this expertise and this confidence in his abilities, not to mention hours and hours of hard work. "Han, I'm not even sure how I do it anymore. How about taking it one day at the time, while I help you find Madie, we can practice, see what is possible and what is not? It will give me some time to set in the mindset on how I use my powers," he suggested. Quentin's powers was like muscle memory by now, he didn't have to think too hard to control it. |

| Outfit: Jolene’s outfitIt made sense that his powers were opposite of the powers he claimed that she had. Therefore, she nodded. Agreeing that if anything, it was reversed. He could lover her senses who were always ready to go one hundred percent. It was clear on how he expressed himself that he felt that her parents had caused her trouble and pain. Something he believed she could’ve gone without if they had just taken care of her powers and taught her how to control it. He explained that he didn’t know how he actually controlled his powers anymore, seeming like he just did it without thinking about what he actually did. She pulled on a slight smile as he said they should take it one day at the time. ”Sure, one day at the time,” she said softly. She took another sip of the water, emptying the glass. “Thank you, again,” she said before she placed the glass on the table and looked back up at him. “But do yo-” The sound of high heels from outside made her lower her voice and look towards the entrance. “Are you expecting quests?” she wondered, not taking her eyes of where they had entered. Soon after the door was opened and in came Jolene. Her eyes were at her phone texting another hunter with a cold gaze on the phone. As if she knew every corner of the manor she let her bag get placed on a coat stand together with her red and black checkered jacket. She had been hunting herself – yes, in high heels. As she entered the living room she could out of the corner of her eye see Quentin sitting on the table. She frowned before she put her phone away in her back pocket and approached. As soon as she spotted the curly black hair her face turned from the cold one to a warmer one. “We’re having guests tonight?” she said almost in a loving tune. One Quentin heard the most when they were out in public. Hannah smiled softly, nodding as a greeting. Hannah had had trouble figuring out who had been married to whom in the hunter clan, since she wasn’t a part of it herself. Hannah and Jolene knew each other already. Jolene’s hand slid form the closest of Quentin’s shoulder to the furthest, giving it a gentle squeeze. She looked at Quentin with a thin smile, “You could’ve told me,” she said, putting up a false romantic façade as she looked at him. Hannah merged her fingers in front of her knees and looked to the other end of the sofa. Jolene was another kind of intimidating.

| Quentin's lips pulled up in a bigger smile by her thanking him, not that she needed to, he would gladly. However, his smile faded when she asked if he expected guests, and his head turned to the door as only few seconds later Jolene entered the room. The string forming from Jolene and Hannah indicated they knew each other, which didn't surprise him. Most hunters in New York knew each other, especially the greater clans. Jolene wasn't the first huntress that Quentin had been married to, it was good for the families. Strong genes to carry on the family legacy. "Honey, you are home," he flashed her a teethy smile, speaking in a lower tone, as she approached them. Quentin chuckled a bit, yes he could have added it to the text message he had send not long ago. Honestly, he had not expected her to be home. They were married, and even if they weren't in love, Quentin still did his part, he knew they were going to be in this for many years to come - so making it work was a top priority to him.
Jolene gave his shoulder a gentle squeeze, making him place his right hand on top of it, letting his thumb caress the back of the hand shortly. "Was it a good hunt?" He asked still looking at Jolene. Quentin didn't doubt Jolene's skills in a hunt, without extraordinary abilities she still managed to be better than many others who had great powers in their favor. |

| Jolene smiled gently as he said the obvious as she entered. She was home. To Hannah, Jolene almost carried an aura, specifically what she couldn’t determine, but she was positive that it was just her senses going nuts, which was also why she didn’t really look at Jolene. Jolene felt his hand on top of his and she pulled a slightly warmer smile. “Nothing out of the usual,” she said. He wouldn’t go much into detail in front of Hannah. Jolene knew that she wasn’t a hunter and would want to traumatize the girl. But she turned her blue eyes to Hannah. “Has he fed you, or are you starving?” she wondered looking at the goldenskinned human in the couch. The brown eyes hesitated shortly. “I-I’m not hungry,” she replied, even though it made Jolene pulled on a wider smile, nodding once. “Alright,” she changed her gaze to her husband, “I’m going to bed soon enough,” she said before she glanced towards Hannah gain. “You can stay for the night if you want, Hannah,” she suggested before she leaned down and placed a simple kiss on her husband’s temple. She then turned away, looking over her shoulder once. She didn’t expect Quentin to follow her. Besides, she had some nightly rituals to her skincare she needed to take care of first. Hannah pressed her lips together as she watched Jolene walk away, before she looked over at Quentin. “She seems wonderful,” she said and pulled on a slight smile, even though it was clear to Hannah that she had a difficulty actually taking a liking of Jolene. “I can just go back to the hotel,” she said and picked a little at the seam of her skirt. She would just have to get past the flowers and figure out which way would lead her to her hotel.

| Quentin gave Jolene a slightly disappointed glance, only because she knew how much he loved hearing about the hunt. How many that had been hunted down, how she did it, little things like that. Quentin moved his eyes back to Hannah, as Jolene talked to her, also reminding himself that it was perhaps for that reason why Jolene didn't go into further detail about the hunt. Jolene's comment made Quentin chuckle a bit, but he hadn't actually asked Hannah if she was hungry - only if he could get her anything, which obviously also included food. He pushed that train of thought aside. Quentin's eyes met with his wife's, taking a slightly deeper breath in, as she said she would head to bed soon enough, he responded with a small nod. In Jolene world it meant at least ten minutes of skin care, follow by what-ever else she had of nightly rituals. "I will be right up," he replied with a soft nod. Once again Quentin's eyes moved back to Hannah as Jolene spoke to her again, letting her know that she could stay the night if she wanted to. It made Quentin pull a small smile on his lips. He felt his wife's lips on his temple before she turned away from them.
Once Jolene was out of sight, Quentin looked at Hannah again, breathing out. Quentin made a small shrug, it wasn't like he was in love with Jolene, or loved her, he respected her and that was perhaps just enough to make their partnership work. Besides, it was Elenora's best friend - he wasn't even sure Elenora knew about this marriage yet. Hannah's words seemed forced, wonderful, he didn't comment on if just gave her a little nod. "It's not necessary, you can say, we have plenty of room, and it's safest," he pointed out with a warm smile. "And then we can start the search tomorrow morning after breakfast, if you want?" |
