| LOCATION the park in Aston DATE end June TIME afternoon WEATHER sunny and bright OUTFIT LinkTOPIC FOR @Austin______________________ Elena had placed herself on a bench in the park this afternoon, just sitting here listening to some music on her phone while enjoying the sun. She had also let the thought cross her mind to go to the mountains and visit Elijah again, but she was also scared of bugging him by casual dropping by so often as she did. It was just nice seeing people she knew, and she thought he had died - who could blame her for actually being fond of seeing him alive again. Then there was the whole herself having returned from the dead and everything. Elena took a deeper breath in, feeling herself getting restless from sitting down too long, so she got back up on her feet and started walking. She turned off the music and put her headphones away, just listening to the sweet sound of child laughter, the way the small breeze tried its best to make the sunkissed leaves on the trees dance. She frowned a bit as she looked over the park, she saw someone. It took a moment before there eyes met, there was no forgetting his face. Her heart speeding up for a few seconds as she headed in his direction. Elena had tired to reach out by coming to their former home a while after she had returned, but he had been gone. Now he was here, in the park. Elena teleported closer to him, standing only few steps away from him. She hadn't been able to teleport before she died, it was possible the best thing that had happened from her dying. ".. Uhm.. Hey." Elena had no idea if he actually had known she had died back then, however the look on his face spoke for itself. |

| How long had he been back now? A couple of weeks, mostly because of the many rumors being spoken in the corners of the world. Rumors about demons forming in or around Gaia, which was making him very concerned, one of his contacts had even let him to believe that the great Archangel Uriel had lost his memories, Eos had been taken by a demon and Chamuel had finally woken up from her long slumber. The contact hadn’t been very specific about how true these speculations were. But it was still cause for action. So, he had left his small manor that was hidden from the unwelcomed eye by the sea between Harwich and Colchester. After Elena’s death he had retreated to his old home and tried to figure out if what he had done had been the right thing. Guilt waying him down, almost making him question if he should just end his own life, mostly for the pure fact that he slowly realized that getting his grace back would never happen. And the woman that he had loved since Oliva, had died because of him pushing her away and not being there when she had needed it. Selfish of him really, as he wasn’t the only one grieving and thinking this.
Walking through the park he pushed his fingers through his hair that had become so long over the last year, down to his shoulders wearing a casual outfit with a blue blazer a grey t-shirt and blue pants. He wasn’t really drawing a lot of attention to himself besides the towering height, just as he was about to walk out of the area to grab himself a cup of coffee he looked up and the person that he saw, rooted him to the place. It couldn’t be, he was seeing things. Again. Even as the voices in his head screamed at him to move, told him that it was just yet one of his imagination. Hoping that she was really there, he didn’t move just looked at her as she started walking towards him.
Then she disappeared and he could breathe for just a second before she stood there in front of her again. “Bloody hell” he said with a low surprised voice as he took a step back. “Uhm hey?” he repeated back at her, just standing there looking at her. It was clear that he didn’t understand what was happening. “You are dead” he whispered shaking his head and took another step back. This was just a cruel trick of the mind. Elena couldn’t be alive, and she couldn’t teleport like that. There was no way, there was absolutely no way. |

| You are dead, the sweet sound of his whisper echoed in her ear. Dead. She had died. She recalled that dark night, the moment of relief, the small second she thought she had escaped Calvin - and then, nothing. Pure emptiness. Death had wrapped it's cold arms around her and held on for a while, till she had been taken to Heaven. She remembered that, but she didn't like those memories. It had her frozen for a second. "I was dead," she confirmed with a lower voice and held her breath, she didn't even know what to do with her arms, so she ended up wrapping them loosely around her. Elena could she how conflicted he was about it, she didn't blame him. It wasn't like she was a vampire or anything, she was more angelic now than before. God had given her a second chance, made her half angel as he had returned her to her body. How did you even begin to explain that without sounding mental? I'm here.. - I'm alive -" She added slightly out of breath. She longed for walking closer to him and embrace him, let him know that she was alright. Just let him listen to her heart beat and know - he needed to know. This wasn't a cruel trick, not an illusion - illusion, once again her mind awarded her with a memory of the demon's smile that made it shiver down her spine with a small sensation of fear. "It's okay," she nodded a bit and took a small step closer, "It's okay."
Elena removed her left arm from the wrap around herself, and held her hand out towards him, wanting him to take it, to at least feel that she was real. It stung in her heart that he had not yet learned she was alive. Elena had tried to find him, but he had left his house - how long had he been back here? Her blue eyes stayed on him, trying to smile a little bit, but she looked pained from seeing how conflicted he was. |

| He took in a deep breath while looking at her, his head slightly tilting to the left as he didn’t believe her even as she said that she had been dead. How was she still here? That was when he noticed the subtle change in her aura, he had been so surprised to see her that he hadn’t even noticed it before now. The angelic glow around her body that almost burned him if he would step to close. The constant curse of being a fallen angel and no longer worthy of being near anything created by his father. So, she had finally walked in the line of Uriel, her father that she still knew nothing about. Or maybe she did now that she was partly angel? He didn’t answer her, he just looked at her like she wasn’t even real as if he didn’t quite understand anything that was happening in front of him at this very moment. He had been grieving and taken a lot of the blame of what had happened. He was even sure that there were people out there that was blaming him just as much as he did himself. He almost stepped back as she took a step forward to him. Even if this wasn’t a cruel joke, or an illusion or even his own mind thinking all of this up. It would almost be worse if she were alive, why? He wasn’t entirely sure. But mostly because he had been so strong when he told her they couldn’t be together anymore, how was he supposed to be strong again? How was he expected to let her go now?
“I can’t” he whispered with a pained expression as she put out her hand, as he licked his lips, he took another step backwards and didn’t even want to look in her eyes as he turned around and started walking away from her. No, this was to much. This was more than he could bear. |

| The step back felt like a tear in her heart, a cut she hadn't expected to feel in this moment. Elena took a sharper breath in. Death was already cruel, death didn't care about anything it just took and took. Yet, she had met death and managed to stand here right now and it was beautifully painful to be alive again. She was lucky that most people had accepted it or didn't believe she had died. Then there was the people who had been left behind by her in her death. Her hand fell slowly back to her body, and it hurt.
I can't.
The whisper seemed like a distant echo in her mind, repeating and repeating as he took another step back. Elena just stood still, looking at him, feeling how another cut was made in her heart. The worst one was as he turned away from her and started walking away, completely draining her from air to breathe. She barely realized tears were starting to stream down her cheeks it felt too familiar. Like a cut out from when they had parted their ways after he had ended things with her. Elena lifted her hand up towards her chest, the pain stung in her heart. Why did this hurt so much? There was a quote she had read once: Was it harder to die, or harder to be the one who survived? Elena had wondered about it a lot on the past. She knew how much damage her death had left behind, even if it was short, there had still been people who had no idea she had come back. Elena dried her eyes, was it selfish of her not wanting to let him go just yet? Why was everything feeling like it was ending? She hated that.
Before she actually realized it she had started running up towards him, reaching out till she could get a hold of his arm to stop him. "You are not the only one this is hard on okay? It hurts. This hurts, " She reminded him breathlessly, still with tears running silently down her cheeks, as she took a sharper breath in. "But I will leave you alone.. if that is what you really want?" Her eyes searching for his, not letting go of his arm yet. Not yet, it was too soon. So, if not wanting to let go right away was selfish, then she chose to be selfish. She had never thought she would see him again - so having a moment to take him in, despite him looking so pained. Elena just wanted to look at him. |

| The pain was all consuming and it was hard for him to breath properly as if every breath lit his lungs on fire. He needed to get out of here, and for the first time in a least a couple of hundred years he missed the ability to teleport. They he would have been able to just get out of dodge as fast as possible, running away from these emotions that was threatening to swallow him whole. But alas he wasn’t that fortunate and before he could leave this painful memory behind, he felt how her fingers closed around his arm and pulled him back. He stood still, the feeling of the heat from her hand finding its way into his skin. Made him realize that this was real, she was really here.
You are not the only one this is hard on. He closed his eyes, she had no idea how hard this was on him, and of course he knew that it was hard on her too. She had been the one that had died, and now apparently come back to life. But he had thought for so long that she had been dead, only to figure out that she was alive and well? He didn’t even dare to look at her, as she spoke, because he could hear it in her voice that she had was crying. Austin closed his eyes and bit down on his lower lip. The arm that she was holding on to started to tremble as she told him that she would leave him alone if that was what he really wanted. He slowly opened his eyes and turned his head towards hers and looked into her eyes. “You can’t ask me to let you go once more” he whispered painfully; he didn’t believe there would be a world where they could be friends. Nothing more than friends at least. Maybe it was selfish of him, but what they had shared had been real. And his reasoning for breaking it off had been a real issue, but not one of a heart that had stopped loving her. Because he still did, still to this day when standing here looking at her. So maybe it would just be easier to walk away. Everything in the end would be easier to just, walk away. But that didn’t mean it was the right thing. |

| He finally turned to her, looking into her tear filled eyes, making her take a deeper breath in, while listening to his painful whisper. It almost hurt to breathe, the deeper the inhale the more difficult it was to exhale without feeling like a knot was tighten in her stomach. Why did this have to hurt so much? It wasn't fair. "Then don't," she replied with the same low tone. Elena knew it was perhaps selfish of her to just want him in her life, or at least just be able to have him close. Things had changed on her side, death had put a lot of things in perspective and she was still dealing with the days before her death. It was still haunting her. Elena wasn't even sure if she could provide him with what he needed. Maybe she was just scared that she had lost it all when she had taken her last breath, that things were bound to be different. Also seeing Griffin again. Now she was for a moment thinking it was cruel of the universe to reunite her with the only two people she had ever loved. Why couldn't they just pretend for a moment like the world hadn't brutally hurt them? "I'm sorry," she apologized, folding her lips a bit - she had no idea he hadn't known she was alive nor that he had known she had died. It had taken her a little bit over a year to even walk confidently around again, without looking over her shoulder every other second in fear of Calvin striking her down again. It wasn't even her death that was the most horrifying memory.
"I tried to go to the house to tell you -- you weren't there, otherwise.. I- I would have told you earlier," she looked down at the ground for a moment taking a deeper breath in. She was so sick of trying, and it took a lot not letting her powers burst out of control making her fold her hands together like a fist. She could feel her nails dig into her palms to distract herself a little, while looking back at him. It was really out of their hands, and she had no idea what to do, or to say. |

| The love he had had for the human, had been all consuming earth shattering and he hadn’t felt it like that since his wife. But the guilt had eaten him up, that the fact that he even had known about her existence had been because he had followed Uriel. And in his quest to either figure out if he wanted revenge for the fact that he had been punished but people like Uriel and Remiel kept getting new chances to do better. Or if he just wanted to get into the good graces of the archangels once more, it had ended up destroying their relationship because he felt like he had used her to some extent. Only to end up hurting her even more. The last thing he actually wanted. But he wasn’t the man for her, there would be someone better out there. But that didn’t mean that he liked the fact that he needed to turn around and walk away from what he felt was the biggest love of his life.
He had to close his eyes as her words hit him. Then don’t. He almost hissed at her that she needed to stop, but he held it back. Looked at her as she tried to explain that he had returned to their house only to see that he hadn’t been there anymore. His eyes took her in, while he contemplated on what to do, say or even act. He didn’t know, he just didn’t. He had gone through a lot of pain through his long life. He had been close to death. Felt heartbreak and every emotional agony. But none of it could prepare him for standing in front of the woman that he had loved that he still loved.
So, words didn’t form, because what could he say? Explain why he hadn’t been at their house? What would it matter, what good could it do? So he just looked at her, restraining himself from taking her into his arms and tell her that everything would be okay. |

| She took a deeper breath in, feeling how her heart was aching more and more by the second. Elena just threw words around, words she knew wouldn't change a thing but, she just didn't want him to leave. She didn't want him to leave. Their eyes met, and all was just swimming in pain. So much pain that was caused by that had been done to them because of this. None of this was fair. None of it. He had been the last person she'd begged to seeing before she died, the one she hoped would find her in the forest and take her home. The brief hope of just him showing up and taking her back home to safety. But the world hadn't allowed that, what a cruel, cruel world it was to let them go through this. So, many words, so many things she wanted to say. But none of them, none of them reached her lips, none of them seemed to matter right now. Because all that was left was pain and horrorble memories of what had happened. She had died. And not just by a horrible accident. She had been tortured, hunted down like an animal and killed, left behind like she was nothing. The entire thing was unfair. So unfair. Elena had no control over the tears steaming down from her eyes, why was the world so unfair, so cruel? "I'm so sorry," she apologized in a lower voice, almost a whisper, knowing it wasn't her fault. But he was in pain, pain caused by the fact she had died. There was nothing she could do, not when it seemed like every single thought about her or just looking at her only seemed to cause him even more pain. "I... I didn't mean to come here and cause you more pain," she licked her lips a little bit as she took a sharper breath in, tasting the salty tears on her lips. "Is ... is this goodbye?" Her voice cracked by the word goodbye... she didn't want this to be the last she saw of him. |

| It took every ounce of self-control not to let his fingers glide over her soft skin and dry away her tears. It took all his willpower, not to let his arms fold around her slim frame and pull her close. Telling her that everything would be alright. hat he would be there for ever and always. But he couldn’t. how could he do that to her? He wasn’t hers anymore. He had broken it off just before she had been taken. Just before they had found her in the woods, killed. How could he ever, ever, be that selfish when all he had ever done was walk the path of God? Being a righteous man, even as this didn’t seem righteous at all. He found it cruel and unnecessary. Was this just one of his many punishments? Now that she wasn’t even human anymore, half angel. He could feel how her presents felt burning towards him, like whenever he had near himself one of gods houses of worship build by men.
He had to take his eyes away as she told him that she was sorry. “You have nothing to be sorry for” he whispered, so low that he wasn’t even sure that his words carried enough strength for her to hear it. He closed his eyes, pressed them so hard together, to the point where it was almost painful. And as he opened it small white dots glided around for his vision. “I’m sorry I can’t give you want you want” he finally got out with a little more strength than before; his chest felt like it was on fire for him suppressing the tears that threatened to spill. “It needs to be goodbye Elena” he whispered, finally daring to touch her letting his thump glide over her cheek removing some of the fallen tears. |

| This was perhaps the most pain she had felt in a while. The burning pain spreading in her heart, making it hard for her to breathe. She wanted him in her life, but the more seconds she looked at him, she knew things would, and couldn't turn in favor for them. There was only pain and heart ache down this road. To her, he was one of the people she had known and loved most of her life. One of the few people in her life that had just accepted her for who she was, and just loved her. But where was that love right now? It seemed to be tugged away by tears and the pain burning inside their souls.
It needs to be goodbye Elena.
It was it. The words she had hoped not to hear, but knew she couldn't avoid. It was the end, there was no happy ending for them. Elena knew she couldn't put him through more, he didn't deserve that. And even though in the same moment she felt his hand trace over her cheek, making her hold her breath for a short moment. It was too hard to take a step back. It was too hard to turn around and not just turn around running into his arms. Because that was all she wanted, to rush into his arms and not let him go again. But she had to respect that it needed to be a goodbye. Elena didn't want him in anymore pain. So, she placed her hand on top of his, holding it for a brief second, before letting her lips trace over it while closing her eyes together. "I guess it's it then," she breathed out slowly, while letting go of his hand and opened her eyes before taking a small step back. "Goodbye Austin," she whispered before letting herself teleport away from the scene. Only to crumble down on the floor, the second she had returned to her bedroom |
