James sighed, as he let his hand glide over his face, before he leaned his head back a little, as he felt the water glide over his face, making him smile a little, as he felt the refreshing feeling glide through him, but as he was enjoying his quiet morning bath, he suddenly heard the door, slam.. making him loose all calmness in him, as he gave a slight jump, which resulted in him slipping, as he grabbed the curtains, and suddenly found himself naked and wet, laying while groaning, as he had given a slight scream from him, as he had fallen out of the shower, while the water was still running, as he just laid there, before sighing, as he said " Fucking great.. could this day start any fucking worse ". He just laid down, as he laid there naked, trying to gather his strength to get up, as he felt like throwing with everything, as he kicked the shower, so it gave a loud thumb from it, before he looked over towards the door, that had closed by itself?.. maybe a draft?. As he was laying there, he suddenly looked down at his hand, as he noticed blood on the floor, and a little on himself, before he realized.. that he had cut himself on the way down. " Fuuuuuuck! ". He moaned almost, as he placed the hands on his face, forgetting everything about the bloody hand.

Nathaniel had barely made it more than a few feet away from the shower-room before he heard the massive rumble and groaning. He stopped, turned around and walked over to the shower room once more. He opened to door, whilst avoiding looking straight at James as he most likely was naked still. He handed the vampire a towel before he turned off the water. ‘’I choke on chocolate and you slip in the shower. Which one is worse?’’ he asked, slightly apologetic, as he had the idea that James might had been startled by Nathaniel closing the door and thereby making noises.
He then turned his back to James to give him his privacy to cover up whatever he wanted to. ‘’My bad. I was walking the usual rounds and noticed you weren’t in your bunk.’’ He then said, knowing that it wasn’t a valid excuse to have investigated what James had been doing in the shower.
‘’You’ve got something on your face…’’ he then said, still with his back turned to James, as to not stare since that would incredibly rude of him.

James looked horrified towards the door, as someone took a grip in the handle only to see his worst fear being reality. NATHANIEL.. seeing him in this state. " Okay, i´m ready to die now ". He mumbled, as he took the towel, before laughing a little, as Nathaniel asked him what was worse, after a pretty good landing joke. " I win this round. Sadly ". He smiled, as he sat up, before looking at him, as he wiped his face, before looking down at his hand, that had already healed. He slowly got up, as he groaned a little from the pain in his back, before he said " This was the best start ever " with the most sarcastic tone he could manage, as he wrapped the towel around his hips, leaning the toned upper body exposed in it´s full glory, with the muscles working overtime, as he walked over to the mirror´s before looking at himself, when Nathaniel said that he had something on his face. " It´s called enemy war paint, only thing i did wrong, was using my own blood " he chuckled, as he tried to make a bad joke, before looking towards Nathaniel, as he raised his brow, before smirking, as he said " Are the princess scared of seeing me naked?, might get be able to catch one hour sleep of good dreams, if you did ". He stuck out his tongue, as he said " Wait, so you were looking for me?. Uh oh.. i sense a stalker ". He smiled, as he walked over towards Nathaniel, before embracing him from behind, if he was still standing with his back towards him. He gently blowed air against the back of him, as he kissed it softly, before he said " I´m hurt.. because of you.. so maybe.. you should allow me to get some blood Sergeant ". He licked his lips, before he let go of him, as he gently ruffed his hair, before walking past him, as he said. " Look im fine, just dont close doors unannounced ".

‘’Don’t go dying on me. I need an engineer to make sure the Ankh is functional.’’ He said, smiling slightly relieved that James wasn’t angry at him for suddenly appearing. ‘’And I’ll let you have the prize this time. I better up my game for the next round then.’’ He joked, waiting for James to get presentable, only to get a snarky remark about war paint. ‘’Oh dear, those next four months are gonna get tough!’’ he chuckled - until James mentioned if Nathaniel had seen anything. ‘’Of course not! I respect your privacy, private King!’’ he said, clearly slightly perplexed. This wasn’t acceptable; Nathaniel should have left the moment he was sure James was alright.
The embrace was unexpected, which led Nathaniel to gasp slightly. The gentle blow on his hair made him clench his jaw slightly, to make sure he didn’t make a sound. His words had sounded so alluring, which meant Nathaniel had been on the brink of actually saying yes - until James released Nathaniel, ruffled his hair and stated that he had been fine. He walked past Nathaniel, making Nathaniel look straight at him, partially confused and partially frustrated. ‘’I’ll remember that.’’ He said, as he looked down shortly. ‘’I’ll leave you to it then?’’ he said, before moving to the door, leading away from the shower room. He grabbed the handle, before he stopped. ‘’You know what? Screw it!’’ he said, before he closed the door and walked over to James with hasty steps - leaving James little to no time to react - before he placed his hands on James neck and kissed him right on the lips. It was a confused kiss; he wasn’t sure this was acceptable, or if James even wanted it. As a vampire, he could snap Nathaniel in half! Yet, he still did it. After a moment, he broke off the kiss slowly, only moving his head inches away from James’. He breathed heavy, as he placed a hand on James’ chiseled chest, and the other still around his neck. He just stood there for a couple of seconds, before he backed up a step, allowing James to leave if he wanted to.

James smiled, as he stopped for a moment, just to be sure that he didn´t have blood splattered all over his perfect prince charming face, as he looked over towards Nathaniel with a little smile, as he gave a short nod from him, before he said " Sure, you do that ". As he suddenly heard the words ' Screw it? ', he couldn´t help but to look towards Nathaniel, as he suddenly widened his eyes, as he found himself in a grip from him, feeling his soft velvet lips against his, as he closed his eyes by pure instinct.. feeling how his lips almost prickled by the sensation pulsing through his veins, as he could hear Nathaniel´s heart, the blood rushing through his veins, as he gasped almost moaned softly against Nathaniel´s lips, as Nathaniel had let go of the kiss.. feeling the heavy breath against them.. as he noticed the hand on his chiseled chest, while just looking at Nathaniel with his autumn brown eyes, and a little blush starting to happen over his cheeks, as he didn´t know how to react to this, but his body did, as the towel clearly showed signs of pure pleasure from it, as he looked a little away, when Nathaniel backed up.

* Fuck... *. He didn´t know what to say or do in this kind of situation, as he looked at Nathaniel, clearly like he had lost all footing, as he just stood there, looking at him.. unable to move a muscle.. aroused and filled to the brink with desire, before he leaned forward, grabbed Nathaniel by the neck and pulled him into another kiss, as he walked one step back, hitting the sink behind him, but he didn´t care, as he was almost laying back over the sink, with his crotch area pressing forward, and his body exposed, as the towel started to come undone.

He moaned softly against Nathaniel´s lips, just a little almost a sweeet whisper, before he broke the kiss once more, with his tongue gliding sensual over his lower lip for a brief moment, as he muttered under his breath. " Sergeant.. ". He smiled teasingly, before saying in a low tone. " [i]The paper didin´t say anything about special treatment to the soldier´s that wake up before time ". He winked to him, as he let his hand glide up into the dark hair, before he looked at it for a vulnerable moment, as he said with such softness to his gaze but also his tone of voice. " I like your hair, but i loved the white more.. ". He breathed slowly out, as he looked at Nathaniel suddenly feeling much more vulnerable than normal, as he leaned forward once again, but this time, to kiss underneath his chin, as he wanted to taste ever little inch of him. He knew he shouldnt do this, but he just couldn´t help himself.

Everything seemed rather weird, as neither of them had been expressing that this was what they wanted, although their bodies seemed to agree that it had been what they had needed to cleanse the air between them. Nathaniel wasn’t gay; he couldn’t be. Yet, with his lips against James’, it felt so perfectly natural - to a point where the hardening members of both of them didn’t surprise Nathaniel at all. Soft moans escaped James’ lips, only to be caught by Nathaniel’s lips just the same and swallowed with immense greed.
As Nathaniel backed out of the first kiss, he noticed those autumn eyes look at him with an almost burning desire. As James looked at Nathaniel, he looked rather disheveled - like he had absolutely no idea what should be done now; just like Nathaniel. Then, the vampire leaned forward and grabbed Nathaniel by the neck and pulled him into another kiss; James backing up until he had to arch his back and press his body up against Nathaniel’s, making Nathaniel lean in over him, thus making the height difference between them even greater. As the kiss ended, the vampire had decided to comment about the fact that Nathaniel indeed was a sergeant and thereby he would have overstayed his welcome by a mile. ‘’Shut up,’’ Nathaniel sighed with a crooked smile on his lips before he pressed himself tighter up against James, whilst leaning in to allow his lips to dance on the vampire’s neck in a trail of little kisses.
‘’White attracts unwanted attention in the field,’’ he mumbled against the vampire’s neck, before one of his hands managed to glide down to the towel around James’ hips which was becoming undone. Shortly, it might have been perceived at Nathaniel trying to undress James completely, but that wasn’t what was happening. He managed to fixate the towel around the vampire’s hips, sighing against his skin. ‘’There’s approximately fifteen minutes until the team wakes up. I suggest that you finish up in here and either goes to bed or goes get something to eat before we start the training.’’ He said; small kisses landing on the vampire’s neck whenever he stopped talking for just a moment. With those words, he pulled away from James and looked at him with a cheeky and yet enticing smile. ‘’I hope I’ve proven a better kisser than back then,’’ he said in a joke, before he backed away from James; over to the door, to leave the shower-room before anyone saw them in there together.

It was first now, that the height difference really hit James, as he looked into the eyes of Nathaniel´s, while their bodies where almost entangled with each other, as one of his legs was raised a little, to keep his balance, as he locked it a little around the right side of Nathaniel´s. He looked at him with such a soft gaze, as he took the kiss, felt the press against his body, and smiled at the shup up he came with. He gave a soft groan of anticipation, as he felt Nathaniel press himself tighter up against him, before feeling the lips over his neck, making him moan softly out into the room, but not loud, almost silently.. drowning with the sound of their heavy breaths.

He felt the hand glide down, as he anticipated once again, that Nathaniel would at least touch him, relieve him from the pressure, but he didn´t. Instead he fixed the towel, and before he knew of it.. Nathaniel moved his body away, with words that made a sigh escape the plump lips of James, as he followed him with the autumn colored eyes..
He felt the small kisses land on his neck, sending shivers down his spine, as he trembled a little by it, before he looked at him.. as he separated his lips, but he couldn´t say anything.. until it was too late. He sighed, as he leaned forward, blushing heavily over, as he was left all to himself. He felt a tear glide down his cheek, as he leaned his head back, as a hulk escaped his trembling lips, as his neck ached with missing.. missing of Nathaniel´s lips.

He stood there, alone in the shower room, for more than he had hoped, before he heard the call, as people where waking up. He rubbed his eyes dry, and washed his face up, as he got himself out of the shower, and ready for the training, as he just got into the tent, just in time for the morning inspection, before being ready for todays lesson. He tried to forget.. but he felt like his skin was burning.. his lips too.. from the memory of Nathaniel.. as he stood there, looking like he was swallowed by his own thoughts, before he snapped out of it, and just followed the instructions they were given.

It wasn’t his first instinct to leave the vampire alone, after what had just happened. He wanted to taste more; feel more; hear more; sense more. But he knew very well that all of this had only been because of that night, a year ago. He couldn’t figure out if it was remorse James felt, since he had decided to act nice. Maybe he had just grown up? It was hard to know for sure, but Nathaniel had little time to think about it before he had to return to the Ophelia-tent and wake up the rest of the team. He had managed to get back to his own tent and changed into some new clothes (the same boots and pants, but a clean t-shirt and a grey hoodie with a familiar coffee stain on the front, as Nerobel had packed it for Nathaniel instead of returning it to James as ordered).

Nathaniel made the morning inspection quite attentive of the minute details. Then, he smiled shortly as he announced that breakfast was served early that morning, so that the team would be able to get something to eat right after the introduction-practice. Then, he ordered the team to follow him to the practice-course. It was massive, and mostly filled with obstacles for the team to get over, under or pass in one way or the other. ‘’The rules are simple; complete the whole course, and then there’s breakfast. No obstacle is to be skipped.’’ He said, crossing his arms, with a smirk. Lewis then decided to go ahead, only to fall right on his face onto the dirt as Nathaniel stretched out a leg and tackled him, rather elegantly. ‘’Have I given the order to begin, private Lewis?’’ Nathaniel asked, before he handed Lewis a hand and managed to get him back on his feet. ‘’Never, and I mean never, enact a task without the order to proceed. That is what gets you killed. Now, start.’’ He then said, looking shortly at James before he walked calmly to the first obstacle; observing how the team managed with great trouble to overcome the wall. They had yet to learn to act as a team, it seemed.

James looked at Nathaniel as he entered the tent. At first he didn´t quite notice it, as he wasn´t in a rather attentive state of mind at the moment, from what had happened only minutes ago. He followed Nathaniel and the other´s outside of the tent, as he looked around for a moment, before he stretched, as he walked over to the practice course. He looked at it, filled with obstacles, his brain already working overtime, to see how he could get easily over it, before looking at his team mates, as he tried to see who could use the help, but he didn´t even know if they were allowed to help.. but if they were working teams, then didn´t that mean, that one should help the team too?. He suddenly got snapped out of his own thoughts, when he heard and saw Lewis get tackled by Nathaniel, in a form of stretched out leg, as he couldn´t help but chuckle a little, but it soon turned into a cough, when he noticed the stain on the hoodie. * W-What!? *. He looked at Nathaniel with big eyes, not really knowing what he was trying to pull.. was it his way of saying he was interested?.. and the worst part about everything, was that he had taken his jacket with him too, always slept with it, over his pillow.

He looked a little away, before he heard that they were to start. He took everything in a nice pace, jumping with elegance, as his body was quicker, more flexible, more agile than a human´s, as he had more strength in his body, to do stuff with such ease. As he suddenly had reached much of the path.. all by himself, he looked back, only to notice Carré that had trouble at the high wall. He ran back, as he jumped up at the wall, easily managed to glide over it, before he landed at her side, before he made a horseshoe for her, to set off on his hands, as he said " Here ". He looked at the others that came, before he helped them too, as he suddenly looked over towards Nathaniel, resulting in a knee to the face, as he lost all focus. Blood ran from his mouth, as he accidentally had bitten himself in his lower lip, almost same place as Nathaniel had.. as he looked rather embarassed, before he wiped it away, as he said " Just continue, i´m fine ". When everyone was over, he jumped over himself, as he ran with them, and suddenly they all helped each other, but there were so much still to learn.. as they didn´t work together even closely. James finished first, followed by Caroline and then Lewis and then Carré. He looked at them, trying to avoid looking at Nathaniel, as he looked down his arm at the dryed up blood, as he sighed, before touching his lip, that hadn´t healed.. had he really cried that much?.

At first, he felt slightly disappointed in the team. No one seemed to help each other, as one took the lead and finished most of the obstacles. Then, rather unexpected, the lead - James - turned back to help the struggling mates to get over some of the obstacles as well. ‘’That’s right,’’ he said, just loud enough for only James to hear him, with his supernatural hearing. However, the moment James looked at Nath, a managed to get a knee in the face; making his nose bleed and his lip busted. Nathaniel froze, before he took three hasty steps towards James to make sure he was okay. James then said he was fine, which made Nathaniel stop dead in his tracks. As the course was finished, Nathaniel moved over to the team once more, holding a piece of wound-dressing in his hand.
‘’First of all, that wasn’t at all a bad run for a first time!’’ he said, with a smile. ‘’However, it seems like you only have private King to thank for that! He seems to be the only one that understood the point.’’ He said, before he handed the bandage to James, to stop the bleeding on his lip. Shouldn’t it have been healed already?
‘’Go on over to the dining hall and get some breakfast, all of you. We’ll take the course again a couple of times today.’’ He said, before he looked shortly at James, and in a voice so low only James would hear it, Nathaniel asked; ‘’Do you need blood?’’. It wasn’t a concerned question, more an offer. He knew it wasn’t the easiest thing to get access to the transfusion-blood in the infirmary.

James looked towards Nathaniel when he approached them, before looking at his teammates, before hearing the words. He looked a little stunned, as Nathaniel actually praised him. He gently took the bandage, before he held it up against his lip, as he followed the other´s with his gaze, before he was about to walk with them, as he got stopped by Nathaniel, as he heard the low voice.

He stopped as he looked back at him, before taking a step near him, but just shaked his head, as he headed to their tent, instead of over to the dining hall. He sat down at his bed, before he let himself plummet down onto the pillow, with the bandage against his lip, as he looked at the blood that was coming from it. He closed his eyes for a moment, as he felt his fangs glide forward. * Fuck.. why.. *. He was in shortage of blood, that was for sure.. he knew that he needed more than Nathaniel could give him, and if he ended up getting some of his blood now.. he wouldn´t be able to control himself, he could feel it.. as his body almost trembled.

The rejection was understandable.
Nathaniel sighed silently as James and the others returned to camp - only for James to go to their tent rather than go to the dining hall. He walked with hasty steps to the infirmary, where Leeds - the vampiric field medic - looked at him rather confused. Usually, Nathaniel didn’t bother to visit the medic, which made Leeds worried that something was wrong. ‘’Blood.’’ He simply said, making Leeds look concerned at him. ‘’It’s for King. He is using up his last reserve, and I won’t have him feasting on others on the team. Three bags, now, Leeds.’’ He said, using the most calm and yet commanding tone he could manage. Leeds managed to find the three bags in his own personal stock. ‘’I’ll be over tonight to refill the stock.’’ Nathaniel then said, before he placed the three transfusion bags in a medical bag so people wouldn’t wonder what it was, before he headed to the Ophelia-tent. He didn’t bother to knock or announce his entrance, before he walked over to James.
He placed the bag on the bed, next to James’ head, and sat down on the bed next to him. ‘’Drink, private. It’s an order.’’ He then said, grinding his teeth slightly. The sight of James in such a state did trouble Nathaniel’s mind quite a bit. He wanted to leave him alone, but he couldn’t. every time he tried to, he felt drawn to that stupid vampire again.

James hurried to sit up, only to look shocked at Nathaniel as he entered the tent. " Sergeant? ". He tilted his head a little, as he leaned back, before looking at the bag, as he placed it on the bed, next to his head, before he looked at him with a confused expression, as he found himself just looking at him. When he heard that he should drink, he got up as he looked into the bag, before a sigh escaped his lips, as he looked at the content of the bag. " Really.. ". He looked over towards Nathaniel, as he got up, before he pushed him down onto the bed, as he took a gentle grip in the hoodie, as he said with a smirk. " Why do you still have it? ". He looked at it a little before he said " And why wear it.. ". He leaned down, as he captured Nathaniel´s lips before he could even answer him, but only if he didn´t push him away, as he had straddled Nathaniel, sitting right over his crotch area, as he had pushed him back, enough for him to lean over him, as he would kiss him. He couldn´t help himself.. he had thought about it all day, or well.. right until he had been on the course and then got knocked his teeth into his own flesh.

He looked at Nathaniel, as he pressed himself against him, as he said " Why did you kiss me.. ". He wanted to know.. more than anything. He was almost dying to know the answer, but somehow he also regretted asking, thinking that he would only get a half assed one back.. one that meant something like.. he wouldnt know of didnt know why. He hoped not, but he prepared himself for it. He slowly leaned back, as he grabbed the bag, before still sitting over him, if he had allowed it in the first place, as he took some blood out, before he looked at it, and then at Nathaniel. " Have you ever thought about.. maybe.. getting turned actually?. I mean.. if you ended up as a vampire, then you would be better in battle too.. ". He smiled, as he took a bite of the bag, before draining it into his mouth, as he placed it back in the bag.

The look on the vampire’s face made him smile shortly, only to be pushed down onto the bed and be asked why he still had that damned hoodie. Nathaniel could answer truthfully, or he could lie and say that he didn’t cared to toss it. He smiled at James, ready to answer, but he was hindered by James leaning down to kiss him. then, he got straddled as well, having James sitting on his crotch. Another question was asked; why kiss him? Nathaniel sighed silently, wondering if it had not been obvious.
‘’As far as I recall, you kissed me first - back then.’’ He answered, whilst James reached for a bag of blood. A crooked smile landed on his lips; wondering if James even could taste the origin of the blood without looking at the label, which clearly read; ‘SGT. N. D’COMBE’. The agreement with Leeds had been clear; Nathaniel made sure he had blood enough to keep from going mad, and he would share the supply with James when needed.
Yet another question was asked, making Nathaniel shake his head slightly. ‘’You have no idea how many times I thought about your offer back then.’’ He then said, winking at James. ‘’But why should I turn, when I have a purpose as a human juice box for you at the moment?’’ he asked jokingly, with a cheeky grin on his face. He didn’t care if it was unfair - it was the truth. He would rather make sure James had a chance to get the blood he needed, than running around needing blood himself.

As he tasted the blood, he could already tell... * Asshole.. *. He looked at the bloodbag, as he had emptied every little ounce of blood in the bag, as he sighed, before saying " It´s your blood isnt it.. ". He looked at him, almost like he was saying internally ' REALLY NATH... '. He looked at Nathaniel with a raised brow, as he said " So that´s why you asked me.. ". He looked at him a little with narrowed eyes, as he pressed him down once again, as he said " Turning one, isnt just TURNING you know.. it´s being connected on another level than you human´s could even fathom.. to feel.. " slowly.. he took Nathaniel´s hand and gently let his fingers entangle with his, as he clenched his fingers around the hand of him, slowly but firmly, as he said while looking at it, as he had raised their hands a little. " Ten times as much emotions running though one.. than normally. So when a vampire says he loves someone.. then its not just for fun, its not just until happily ever after.. no, it´s much more than that ".

He released his hand, as he looked down at the bag, and then at Nathaniel, before he leaned down once again, as he started to kiss his lips, traveled each tenderly kiss down the jawline of him, to his neck, as he let his fangs glide into the flesh of him, softly.. as he let the fangs glide back, before kissing the area, as he whispered. " Would you ever.. consider letting yourself be bond to me like that.. for eternity.. always feeling me.. being something even marriage cannot achieve.. close to me ". He nippled his earlobe softly, before he pulled a little back, as he sighed, before getting off him, as he said " If you ever want it, come to me ". He took the bag, as he sat down over at his bed, clearly aroused, as he took the bags and drained them, before he looked over at Nathaniel with a strong blush to his cheeks, as he had just gotten blood from him, even if it was like this.. it was still really embarassing to him.

‘’Come on, what did you expect? I can’t go around giving you a taste for others now, can I?’’ he asked with a cheeky grin on his lips, as he knew that James somewhat enjoyed this little game they had going on. Once again, he was pressed down onto the bed, as James explained why he had asked if Nath had considered being turn. Nath looked straight at him, puzzled. How could he answer that? What could he say? It sounded like James almost had proposed to Nathaniel, although their past had been so conflictional. ‘’James, I…’’ he just said, but James decided to shut him up by kissing him. kisses wandered down his jawline, before he felt the fangs glide into his flesh, making him gasp quietly. The fangs disappeared and kisses ensued once again, nly for James to nibble at his earlobe. Before Nathaniel could stop him, James had moved away from him; leaving Nathaniel to stare directly up at the ceiling of the tent. His heart pounded like wild horses had a race in his chest; his mouth went dry.
‘’You can’t just offer things like that. You can’t just say things like that!’’ he then sighed, rubbing his face, flustered. What could he do? He didn’t want to accept - being turned. But he didn’t want to accept being bound to the man he had hated for so long. It felt too cliché…
‘’Hey,’’ he said, as he turned on his side and looked at James before he placed his hand on the vampire’s thigh. ‘’What if you finished your basic training, and then we could talk about it from there? How does that sound?’’ he asked, as calm as he possibly could, although he felt like he was on fire.

James shaked his head a little by Nathaniel´s words. " You are such a tease ". He looked at Nathaniel with a raised brow, as he just sat there looking at him, while Nathaniel looked up into the ceiling, as he listened in on the sweet sound of the blood rushing in his body, how his heart was reacting on his kisses, on the bite. He licked his lips a little just by the thought of it, of Nathaniel´s blood.. his lips everything about him really. He looked a little shocked, when he felt his hand on his thigh, as he heard the sentence, making him even more confused. * Wait.. is he really considering it? *. he tilted his head a little, as he looked at him, before he pulled him over towards him, in a rather firm grip, around the wrist of him, as he leaned himself back this time, before he let his legs glide around him, as he almost trapped him.

" Oh what will our team not think, if they saw this kind of position Sergeant ". He smirked, as he teased him a little, before he gently laid a hand on the back of Nathaniel´s neck, as he pulled him down towards his lips once more, as he wanted to taste him yet again. He almost let out a soft moan, as he did so.. just by thinking about feeling it once again, as they had let themself go earlier this morning. " I.. want you ". He muttered underneath his breath, as he looked at him with a slight blush over his face. He couldn´t control it anymore, he had no control over his words or actions.. it was like he was high on his blood.

It felt so right in so many ways, how they all of a sudden had switched positions once more, and now were entangled so that Nathaniel was more or less trapped. ‘’They would think we’re about to break rules, Private.’’ He replied, with a crooked smile on his lips and a teasing tone in his voice. It was all in good fun, when James pulled him down into yet another kiss. A soft moan escaped James’ lips and sent sparks down through Nathaniel’s body; awakening his member as he felt blood rush slowly to it’s flesh. James then muttered those three words, making Nathaniel freeze completely. ‘’I…’’ he started, but he didn’t know how to phrase it. It wasn’t a rejection; it was truly just him not being able to go through with such a task…
‘’I can’t, James..’’ he then finally said, looking apologetic at the vampire in front of him. ‘’I can’t do that.’’ He then said, clenching his jaw a little, as he imagined how the vampire now would either be vexed with him or crossed that he wasn’t getting things his way. It had been the same that night; Nathaniel saying no to both getting turned and sleeping with James… How would the vampire take the rejection this time around? Would he understand it was because of what happened at conversion camp? Would he even care?

James looked at him rather surprised, as he could smell the arousal on Nathaniel. He looked at him, as he almost let himself glide down into the bed, as he looked defeated. He hid his face for a moment, as he muttered. " Of course you cant.. i ruined everything.. i ruined you.. ". He softly said, as he tried to hold back the tears, not really knowing what Nathaniel had been through, other than the hell he had described to him. He reached out, as he gently caressed Nathaniel´s cheek, looking into his eyes, as he leaned forward, before he kissed his lips, as he sighed against them, softly letting his head place itself against his shoulder, as his legs glided down, letting him out of his grib, before he straightened his back, as he got up and looked at the bag. " Thanks for the blood Sergeant... ". He looked at him with an apologetic look, before he walked out the tent, but first he just waited for Nathaniel to get up, follow him, so he didn´t just leave him. His body almost trembled, as he stood there, waiting.. feeling his own body so affected by everything. They could never be together could they?.

He looked at Nathaniel, wanting to just.. just.. he sighed, as he pushed the thoughts away, as he let out a sigh, as he just stood there, feeling like crap, as he tried to tell himself over and over again inside. * Just let it rest.. give it up.. just.. let it be.. *. He sighed, as he closed his eyes, before letting a fake smile glide forward on his lips, as he said " I wont be a bother anymore Sergeant, i promise ". He was gonna hold that promise for as long as he could. He walked outside, as he delivered the bag to the leeds, before walking back to join the team. He didn´t say anything or looked any different from before, but he didn´t blush anymore looking at Nathaniel, and he didn´t go near him when he was alone, he just kept himself to the team, acted as the soldier he should, showed him the respect he deserved, and followed each and every order. He studied in the weekends where he should, and only once or twice came to a party, only to be the one to drive people home, or help them get home, as he found himself studying once more. He didn´t hate Nathaniel for the rejection.. he understood him perfectly clear, as he had just accepted it. The fake smiled had been replaced by genuine along the way, as he had just choosen to accept it, besides.. he himself was to be king one day, and choose a queen.. so that really wasnt in his card.. no matter what.


It wasnt that long until he would be done with the bacis training, and he had done everything he could to keep himself away from Nathaniel. He had also studied whenever he could get the chance and hadn´t been in town as the rest of the teams here and there. He had been home one day, where they had called the base and told that James would come after two days time, as he laid at home, bruised.. with cuts all over, as he was bandaged and looked like he had been in a fight. His mother owned a big clan and at one of the clan meetings, James had been at her side, and had participated in one of the test that he had to endure.. leaving him almost on the verge of death, as he had to show strength, endurance, intellect, quick thinking, agility.. he laid in his bed with closed eyes, as his mother came up, before she looked at him, as she changed one of the blood bags that was put into him. He caughed slight, as he said " Did you talk.. to them ". She gave a short nod, as she said " You will be as good as new tomorrow.. ". He closed his eyes, as he said " Good.. ". Calvin didn´t have to go so hard on him, but apparently.. that wasn´t Calvin´s style, as he had endured torture beyond what he could think off. His mother touched his hand, as she said " You will make a great king.. ". He gave a short nod, as she said she would be back soon, before he got up, as he walked over towards the window to look out to the street. He looked more like a mummi.. than anything. He took his phone with a shaking hand, as he looked down at it.. before he sighed. Only 13 days.. and then they were done with basic training..

He had taken the rejection nicely, considering all that had happened. After that, Nathaniel had done everything to make sure James wasn’t going to be alone with him. the other team members had seen it as rather odd, but after a while, they stopped caring. They had gotten to act as a unit, only to get the notice that James would be absent for a few days, due to injuries. It was Leeds that had explained to Nathaniel what had went down, which rendered Nathaniel completely useless in training. The vampire he was used to participating wasn’t there, so the team crumbled during the most simple tasks. Nathaniel had dismissed them until James returned, before he had returned to his tent and packed a bag with some clean clothes and the other essentials, including his toiletries.
In those three months, he had not even once returned to his childhood street. All of a sudden, he stood there, looking at his old home; wondering is he had anything left to say to them. he sighed silently before he moved to the neighboring house and knocked; wearing full uniform, standing at attention when Cecilie would open the door. ‘’Good afternoon, mrs.’’ He said with a crooked smile. ‘’I have some paperwork to deliver to Private King, personally. I hope it’s alright?’’ he asked. He had never actually been to James’ house. Still, he had met Cecilie more than once; usually during school functions or formal events.

Cecilie smiled as she looked at Nathaniel. She had never hated the boy. " Nathaniel, what a nice surprise to see you, or should i call you Sergeant D'Combe? ". She smiled softly, as she bid him inside, as she said " He is upstairs, but Nathaniel.. James has had a rough few days, so be gentle with him. He isn´t to stress too much okay. I will be back in an hour or two ". She gave his shoulders a soft squeeze, before she walked out the door and closed it after her. James took a pack of cigaretts, as he lit them up, before he moved over to the window once more.

He loved the soft feeling of the wind. He hadn´t heard Nathaniel was suppose to come or even seen him.. and he hadn´t heard the conversation, as his hearing was weakened after all the intense training he had endured. He slowly moved, when he saw the door go up to his room, before looking at Nathaniel with big eyes, as he moved the the drop with two blood bags on, as he sighed, before closing his eyes, as he said " Sergeant ". His voice trembling.. and almost breaking, so low it was, as he humped over towards his bed, before he sat down.

Both his legs and arm´s was wrapped in bandage, showing blood underneath, and his neck was filled with blue and yellow bruises, and his hands filled with small cuts, that was about to heal. His eye showing a long cut over the side, just right underneath it, and his eyes bloodshot, as he looked at Nathaniel, in a state of just being in his black underwear and a white tshirt hanging loosely over his body, showing a black spot underneath, when he moved to the side, and some long cuts on his back, patched as much as they could be with angel tape. He looked at Nathaniel a little, with his tired eyes, as he took a long drag of the smoke, before he said " W-what do you want.. ".

It was nice to be greeted with respect and kindness for once. He had not been used to that in his years growing up, so that Cecilie acted like a proper mother, he couldn’t help but smiling calmly at her. ‘’It’s Nathaniel, mrs.’’ He said, turning his head to the side slightly.
‘’I’ll see to it that stress will be kept at a minimum, mrs.’’ He then said, and with the soft squeeze on his shoulder, the saw her leave through the front door.

Oh, how it pained him to see James in that state. ‘’First of all, I’m not here as your sergeant.’’ He said, placing his bag on the floor of James’ bedroom, before he walked over to him. ‘’I’m here because you gave me a freaking heart attack.’’ He then said, placing a hand on James’ cheek to examine the cut ever to gently. ‘’I’ll never get to understand your traditions…’’ he sighed, before he released James’ cheek and took the cigarette from the vampire’s hand and took in a big puff of smoke himself. He exhaled slowly.
‘’Your basic training is done in two weeks, J… Then the four months will be up, and I’ll have to sign the orders for either sending you to a new team as a flight-engineer, or signing for you to stay with team Ophelia.’’ He said, before he looked at James. ‘’I came to ask you what you want. Ophelia, or another team.’’ He then said, before he looked at his bag. He had brought the necessities to stay over if needed.
He didn’t want to ask him about the talk they had had in the beginning of training. It seemed like that part had faded into obscurity, together with the fake smiles and white lies.

James looked at the bag for a moment, as he raised his brow, which only let a pained expression run over his face, as he inhaled some air through his clench teeth, as he let out a sigh. " Heart attack?, why ". He tilted his head a little, before feeling the hand on his cheek, making him groan in pain, as he felt the hand glide away, as he tried to grab the smoke back, but just stopped as he looked at Nathaniel with a displeased expression. " Really.. taking a dying mans smoke ". He chuckled, before coughing a little, holding his hand up, as he noticed the blood on the back of his hand, before he let a rasping gasp escape his lips, as he looked at him a little, as he took the smoke from him, softly.. letting his fingertips glide over the hand of Nathaniel, as he took the smoke back, leaving a little blood stain on it, from his more red looking lips, as he inhaled, only to exhale in a sigh.

His eyes looked almost matt, as he looked over at Nathaniel once again, when he asked what he wanted. " I´m considering.. dropping out ". He mumbled, as he looked down at his hands, before he said " I´m to take over the clan in a few years, and.. this is only one of the test i have to get through.. i don´t know if i would even be worth having on any missions.. ". He sighed, as he tried to move himself down to lay in the bed, as he held the smoke over towards Nathaniel, before asking. " What´s in the bag.. ".
He looked up into the ceiling, as he closed his eyes before just laying there, as he said " I´m fine by the way.. so dont look like that at me.. like i´m actually dying or something.. what would you do if i actually got wounded in battle ".

He laughed, before gasping a little, as he hurried to stop the laughter, as he groaned in pain, before holding a hand to his chest.. " Let´s just say.. Calvin isn´t one to hold back ". As he had said the words, the devil of a man knocked on the bedroom door, as he entered without a yes. The man was almost two meters tall, white hair, blue eyes, and a stoic expression, slender body, but firm looking hands, and all dressed in a black beautiful suit. The man looked at Nathaniel for a moment, before he walked over towards James, as he said " You will have to come tonight again ". James looked a little stunned, as he said " N-No.. i.. ". Calvin narrowed his eyes, as he said " It´s not up for debate James ". James groaned, as he sat up in his bed, before looking at Calvin, as he said " I will DIE if i go! ". Calvin narrowed his eyes, before he said " Then you will DIE. It is not of my concern ". James coughed a little, as he leaned to the side, before spitting blood up, as he looked over towards Calvin with a stern expression. " GET OUT ".
Calvin took a bow, as he looked at Nathaniel for a moment, before he turned to walk out the room, as he had delivered the news like he should.

‘’Because all the team was told was that you had been injured severely and that you were on bedrest!’’ he said, looking directly at James with a somewhat stern expression on his face. ‘’Could you quit acting like I don’t care about you? It would be real nice if I didn’t have to explain that every time I try to make sure you’re okay, you little mongoose.’’ He said, slightly frustrated. He inhaled the smoke, and as James made a comment about a dying man’s smoke, Nathaniel scoffed. ‘’You’re not dying. They aren’t giving you the right treatment for your injuries, though…’’ he sighed, looking at the blood bags. From what he had learned, vampires had to drain a living and breathing human to recover almost immediately. Leeds had been kind enough to explain, although he had warned Nathaniel of the consequences if he decided to go through with such a deed.
‘’I see…’’ he said, as James had explained that he might drop out of the team, since he was to take over the clan. ‘’We don’t need you with us to fight. We need you with us to keep the Ankh functionable and to turn those of the team members who are on the verge of death while in the field. If you aren’t able to do that, then you’re right - leaving would be the best.’’ He said, somewhat monotone in his voice, as he looked down on his hand, where a little amount of blood had been left by James. Again, by pure instinct, Nathaniel licked it off as if it was nothing.
‘’It’s just some spare clothes.’’ He said, nodding at the bag. ‘’I wasn’t sure if I was going to stay here and keep an eye on you for a day or two. The team is relieved from duty until you return.’’ He said, biting his lip. Of course, James would mock Nathaniel for worrying about him. ‘’I would force you to drain me.’’ He just answered. What kind of a question was that? What he would do?! Did he have such little faith in Nathaniel? He sighed.
‘’Calvin better watch out then.’’ He just said, just as Calvin entered the room. Nathaniel, who was both higher, wider and more muscular than Calvin, stood up and looked straight at him. Nathaniel didn’t intervene, although he stood straight at attention, ready to block Calvin if he tried to force James with him.
Calvin left after the message was delivered, and Nathaniel followed him out of the room, before he closed the door to the bedroom; leaving him alone with James once more. ‘’How much holy silver do I need to kill that idiot?’’ he asked, somewhat frustrated, as he crossed his arms and leaned up against the door while looking at James.

James looked rather surprised at Nathaniel, as he said that he would force him to drain him, if it ever came to that. " Don´t be daft Nathaniel. I´m NOT going to drain you. I might live off blood, but i wont drain you, and that´s that ". He sighed, as he closed his eyes before saying " Besides, i´m not allowed to turn ANYONE without the clan´s permission. Our blood goes back way long, so.. i could only give them my blood to heal them faster, but i will NEVER turn any.. if i didn´t find them truely worth, and then clan also ". He sighed, as he looked over towards Nathaniel, before the whole episode with Calvin happened.

James sighed, as he said " Alot. Calvin is old, as in really old. Try maybe thousand years old. You wont stand a chance Nathaniel, and even if you did, it would just end up biting me in the end, since he is the leader of the first division of our clan.. ". He sat up a little more, as he said " Fuck.. ". He looked up at the blood bags, as he tried to get up, but ended up just sitting down, before he said " I cant take blood the right way anymore.. they injured me too much for it.. i just vomit it all up.. so.. this is the only way i can keep my body up, so i dont die Nath.. until it can take blood again ". He looked over towards Nathaniel, as he laid down, before he looked at him a little, as he said " So.. you wanted to stay with me for the night or two.. why.. it will just torture me so much more, having you sleep next to me.. or even near me.. ". He sighed, as he smiled towards him, before getting up, as he didn´t want to sit around.

He looked at the blood bags, as he reached for one of them, but hesitated. He didnt take one of them, as he walked over to the nearest chair, before looking at Nathaniel. " I will come back, i promise.. ".
