| “The fear that I’m really just the kind of father to leave when things get hard?” He asked, even though he wasnt trying to be hurtful with his words. He could agree that it had seemed like he had been fleeing from having to deal with the problems, but he still wasnt sure why he had acted as he did - He just knew he hadnt been fleeing. “I’d never run. I guess I just couldnt stay idle any longer. I needed answers,” he said with a small smile, stopping as Dinah seemed to need a break. “Never. It’s tiresome at times, but I’d rather worry than not care at all,” he explained as he supported himself up against the wall with his arm. He knew that he was very good at worrying fast, but this time it felt different. The hound yelped as Baal gritted his teeth, touching a burn mark far too close to the artifact, “Had she known where to hit, I wouldnt be standing here,” he mumbled quietly to himself as he took in a deep breath with his eyes closed. He hadnt even fought her in any way, he had let her hurt him in the hopes that she would have seen his passive approach to her attack as him not wanting a fight. He straightened his back as he looked at Dinah, grabbing her arm as he pulled it over his back for her to support herself against him for a while. His legs were fine, it was just the burning feeling of the holy power in the handmarks that weakened him. “I know it wont change our past. But I should have been easier on the relationship that you and Eaden shared,” he suddenly said as he walked, a slow pace, but it was forward at least. “I have come to terms with Eaden’s everburning wrath. At least there’s some comfort in him sticking around for Buffy and Nessa,” he said as he made a small scoff, shaking his head a little at how he had seen Eaden be so kind around his little sister. He wondered if that was just how he was when he wasnt near to anger him. “I thought I was keeping you both safe by keeping you apart. Because of the way things were back then. But I was wrong,” he said before he stopped to catch a break from walking. He leaned against the wall taking in a deep breath.
Jake pulled his other hand out of his pocket as Nessa wrapped her arms around him, keeping his hand on the back of her head as the other closely wrapped itself around her. Her whisper made him smile as he looked down at her, stroking her scalp gently as he felt calmer than he had been in a long while. The exercises with Kyle were tiresome, even more when the wolf didnt seem to want to connect in that way. It was like it was waiting, keeping Jake locked out till the time would come where it would take over and dictate the body. It wasnt really surprising that Jake didnt want that for himself, but as Nessa had said she wouldnt live to see spring, he knew he had to do something fast. Her question pulled him out of his mind as he looked down at her, making a sad yet not kind smile, “It’s hard with the wolf. He’s like a voice in the back of my head, judging, whispering about everything I do. I just wanted to get it under control before seeing you again,” he explained, thinking he sounded a little silly, but he meant it. “When you look at me, I feel like most times, you see me for something that I’m not,” he added as he looked down at her with a more serious expression, shifting between her eyes. “But I want to be that person that you see me as,” he finally said, frowning a little as he stroked her hair ever so gently.
Leona sat there listening to Buffy explain what had occured to her. It all seemed like a hasty half savored memory, but Leona knew it was what it was like - Hell she barely remembered dying hadnt she felt her own awakening so strongly when she came back to life. Buffy spoke of a demon, which Leona assuned to be the one she intended to marry, quite curious as to why she wasnt saying his name when she had had no problem in introducing Vanessa. But it was also weird to hear her niece speak so fondly of someone who would have been of evil origin, a demon that would go out of it’s way to save a human? Why was that so? The question was intriguing to explore, but Leona would never tread those waters, knowing how well the family had recieved Buffy for her curiousities in the past. Sticking to viewing demons as wholly evil was all that Leona could stick to - For now. She looked at Vanessa as the demon girl was mentioned, frowning a little as Buffy went on, yet she wasnt angry. She nodded as Buffy finished, smiling gratefully at Vanessa, “Even though I dont understand, it’s nice to know that my niece hasnt been all alone in her struggles were I was absent,” she said before she reached her hand out for Vanessa to take, “Thank you,” she said in a sincere tone, which wasnt going to stick around. Vanessa raised her eyebrows at the hand, but took it to give it a solid squeeze. Leona let go after the squeeze, placing her hand on her lap as she looked at Buffy. “I must admit, it’s all very new and odd to me. I have yet to understand,” she admitted, hoping Buffy would understand.
The door opened as Eaden seemed to almost barge in through the door, grabbing the door frame as he was trying to catch his breath. “Buffy... Father told me to....” he stopped as he frowned a little, looking up as he looked at Leona’s hand, feeling the hairs on his neck rise as the holy power underneath the skin wasnt to be mistaken of. “Someone that looked like her,” he mumbled. Leona frowned in confusion, moving her eyes around like she was calculating whether she had to fight or not. |

| Dinah nodded at his question. She knew that it rooted in the lies that Eaden had once told her, but to every lie there had to be something rooted in truth. His explanation did not make sense. Stay idle? Needing answers? She felt like he was speaking more to himself than to her right now. He grabbed her arm, supporting her this time and she leaned her head against him as they walked. His words made her close her eyes, taking a sharp inhale as to calm herself. ”I spent so many years wondering what was wrong wth me; why I was not allowed to be close to my brother,” she said, feeling the sadness in her come to the surface. ”Even after mother’s death and you disappearing from our lives, he wouldn’t even touch me for a good century,” she said, frowning as she looked down, water in her eyes as she thought of that time. Dinah tried calming herself, taking a few deep breaths as she looked ahead at where they were walking. ”You took your frustration out on him and he in turn took that frustration out on me; I’ve never met anyone in more pain and need of love than Eaden,” she said, swallowing at her own owrds. She wanted to give her brother all the love he wanted, give him whatever he craved, because she couldn’t handle seeing him hurt. Dinah loved her brother deeply, and she knew that their love had taken form in something frowned upon even in this time, but to deny themselves their hunger for comfort and love was a crime in her eyes. ”But he’s always been this caring, father, you just turned your blind eye to it,” she said looking at her father with pleading eyes. She did not want to upset him, but she wanted to speak her mind, even if Eaden would not.
Nessa listened to his words, frowning as he spoke of gaining control over the wolf. Perhaps it was easier for her, being more connected to the lamb inside her. His words made sense in a way, she placed her cheek against his chest, listening to his heart beat. ”You are already the person I want you to be,” she said in a soft voice, leaning back to look up at him. ”You don’t have to change, you already are exactly how you are supposed to be,” she said in a serious tone, making her hands run up and down his back, stroking him caringly. Nessa felt the need to just have a little longer with Jake, maybe make him understand what a wonderful person he was in her eyes. ”I wish I could say something, show you something that would make you realise just how much you being you means to me,” she said, looking up at his blue eyes, thinking of how she could tell him. How she could put words to what he meant to her. She moved one of her hands from his back to his cheek, resting her palm against his skin as she closed her eyes. ”Jake,” she said in a vulnerable voice. Could he not feel it? Feel how much she valued him?
Buffy smiled at her aunt. Perhaps it was because Leona looked so much like her mother that she trusted her so dearly. ”You don’t have to understand, auntie, you just have to trust me,” she said with a hopeful glance in her eyes. That was when she heard the door almost being broken open as Eaden stumbled in. Buffy placed her cup of tea on the table, hurrying to Eaden to look at him. ”Eaden, one thing at a time; You’ve seen Baal? Is he alright?” she asked, full of worry. Buffy placed a hand on the demon’s shoulder, trying to calm him down. ”Where is your sister?” she asked worried, feeling more dread float in her system now. Eaden and Dinah never left each other, not since they had made up for the past.

| He had always known that Dinah had blamed herself for him not allowing Eaden near her, but hearing her finally speak of it made him feel like he was right to believe that his decision to keep them apart had done more harm than good. He let her speak, even though he still wasnt too fond of thinking about it in the sense that it was - But he wanted to accept them for what they were, not stay in his old beliefs that he could change them. “I can never mend what’s broken between Eaden and I, never fully at least. He doesnt want my love, and I dont blame him. I wasnt a good father to him, not like I was with you” he said with a sad look in his eyes as he exhaled deeply, “But it seems that he doesnt need me, not like he needs you, Buffy and Nessa. I can live with that,” he said as he made a little sad smile, it wasnt that pleasant to know that Eaden would resent him for all eternity if needed be, but there was some comfort in knowing that he didnt aim it towards anyone else anymore. Dinah’s words were true, so he couldnt blame her for the shame he felt at them. He pushed himself off the wall as he placed Dinah’s arm back around him. “Shouldnt be that far now,” he said as he looked ahead. His mind seemed to wander back into his worries and he scoffed before he chuckled softly, “I hope I havent passed on my tendency to worry,” he said as he looked at his daughter.
Jake scoffed in a emotion-ridden chuckle at her words, he just couldnt really believe that it was so. He didnt feel like the person she seemed to see him as, how could he be? He was just a young, dumb boy who screwed up the garden and had some holy kind of werewolf blood in his veins. How could she look at him with such gentle eyes, make him feel so precious with just the way she was looking at him? “It’s hard to believe. I know who I am. I am most definitely not this guy that you seem to see,” he said, shaking his head as he felt her hand caress him so calmingly. He swallowed hard, wondering why she seemed to make his hands feel a little damp and his heart in some state of out of rhytm? She spoke again and he shifted between her eyes as he listened. Frankly he wished for that too as he found it so hard to understand. She moved her hand and he felt that soft skin to skin contact like a shiver running down his spine. She closed her eyes but he kept his open as he looked at her. “I’ll stop telling you that I’m busy all the time,” he said rather seriously as he placed his hand over hers, stroking the back of her hand with his thumb. He knew he was just making promises now to feel less like he was just taking and taking her comfort and care, but he did mean his words in a way too. “But I cant believe that you can see me for who I am and love that,” he narrowed his eyes, knowing he was speaking lowly of himself, but he had always been that way when it came to his self worth.
Leona smiled at Buffy’s hopeful words, nodding as she looked at her niece, “Of course. I’ll always trust you before anyone else. You are my sister’s daughter and legacy,” she said, feeling her voice sadden a little at her own words about her sister. It was no secret that Leona had always been close with her sister, that the two had been like best friends till Leona had disappeared, only to come back and find out that her sister was no more. It was a wound that simply never would heal fully, but there was some comfort in staying close to Buffy. But as soon as she had spoken, the demon had barged in, making all her inner alerts ring as she felt that dark energy in him. Eaden looked to Buffy as she walked up to him, taking in a few hasty breaths as he searched his mind at an incredible speed, trying to find the answers to her questions, “He’ll manage,” he said, as he swallowed, feeling like his heart could burst from the strain he had gotten from pushing himself like this. “Dinah’s with him. They’re coming here,” he said rather quickly to her next question, but her hand was slowly seeming to calm him down. He turned his eyes to the angel, frowning a little as he kept looking at her hand. He noticed the bandage hidden under her sleeve as he then looked up at her face. “What’s bit you?” He asked with hasty breaths that gradually to a more controlled and calm breathing. Leona glanced down at her arm, “A beast,” she said truthfully as Eaden then frowned. “Thought so,” he said as he ran his hand through his hair, sending Buffy a subtle warning look. Leona’s look seemed rather neutral as she looked at them before she rose from the couch, “I met a demon in the other part of town. He came directly from hell, the evil energy flowing around him like a fog. I was just trying to do my duty,” she said with a stern voice looking at the demon close to Buffy. |

| ”Father, even if he does not want your love, he needs it; He wants to feel like you accept him for who he is,” she said, knowing it was not her fight to fight, however she knew Eaden was too proud to admit it. ”He does need you, he just cannot see it himself,” she breathed out, feeling like she had spoken her truth now. They started walking again, she felt like it was so weak. His words made her scoff softly, looking down as they walked. She did worry, but most of her worries seemed to revolve around Eaden. ”I think I might’ve inherited my mother’s calmness,” she said, feeling sad about talking about her mother. She had just seen her, felt her hand on her cheek and she wanted to regress to a time where she was just a simple child. She wanted to just have her family close, feel safe as she once had, but she also knew it was not possible always. ”Do you still love her?” Dinah asked, maybe asking because she wasn’t sure what the future would bring. ”My mother?” she added, as to not confuse him.
”But I do,” Nessa said, looking into Jake’s eyes he would be able to see nothing but her truthful gaze. As she closed her eyes she felt him still looking at her, but she didn’t mind. His promise made her swallow, slowly opening her eyes to look at him. She really wished for him to keep his promise, because she felt so much more at ease when she had him there. It was not a love based on physical needs, it was based on some otherworldly feeling of belonging. ”Please try and believe,” she said, not liking him selling himself short like this. He was brave and had so many wonderful qualities. ”I think I need to return to my family soon,” she said, knowing she couldn’t stay here with Jake, even if she wanted to. She pressed herself closer to him, resting her ear against his chest again and listened to the sweet heart beat that pounded away under his shirt. What could she say to put him at ease? ”My parents would not want me gone for long, but I have a feeling like leaving you now would not be good for either of us,” she said with her voice almost careful. Upsetting him was not what she was trying to do, she wanted to support him, like he protected her.
Buffy smiled thankfully at Leona, feeling like it was all going to work out. As Eaden tried to explain himself she frowned, not knowing what to answer. The exchange between the demon and her aunt made little sense, but she felt something toss and turn in her stomach. Was she going to throw up? Eaden gave her a warning glance, making her swallow as she shook her head for a while, before turning her head towards Leona. ”Was this demon covered in black ink?” she whispered her question, scared to know if it was true. She felt her heart beat faster, felt her world spin out of control as she leaned against Vanessa as to not fall over. If what her mind was telling her were true, then Baal not arriving yet and Leona’s hurting arm had something in common. As she finished that thought Dinah stepped through the door with her father still holding her by her feet. Buffy hurried to her fiancé, touching his cheek as her eyes inspected his body. ”Belial,” she whispered in a tender voice. She still felt at a loss as to why he had left, but she would need to save those questions. Buffy touched his cheek ever so gently, almost scared if she was going to hurt him, but she soon helped him to their bed, laying him down with a bit of a struggle.
Dinah looked to her brother, sending him an apologetic smile once more as she then turned her attention to Leona. ”I don’t think I need an introduction to know who or what you are,” she said in a stern voice. She was weak right now, but she was not going to let that angel hurt anyone else. ”What did you do to my father?” she commanded to know, clutching her hand to a fist. She didn’t want to fight in this state, but she would if she had to.

| “I’ll try my best. I dont hate your brother, I never have,” he said, feeling like he had to clarify that he hadnt ever harboured ill feelings towards his son. It was true that he might have favored Dinah over him and he wished that he hadnt been so obvious in his selfish acts towards his children. But done was done. He nodded at her words about Eaden needing him. It was hard to believe, but it didnt seem impossible to be true. He chuckled at her words about her mother, nodding as he thought so. “She was the glue that kept the family together,” he said, a little sadder in the tones as he thought about it for a bit. How she had always kept him on track and so delicately kept him from doing things he would come to regret. He frowned a little, feeling like it was a lifetime ago, which it frankly was. Dinah’s question made him sigh as he had given it some thought. “I think I always will, in a way. But not as the love of my life, not anymore. As the mother of my children, as the person that took a part of my life to keep always,” he explained as he looked at Dinah, hoping it made sense, as it did to him. He scratched his neck, giving it some more thought. “I’m enamored by Buffy and her being. It’s hard to describe in any other way,” he said as he shook his head, feeling like words couldnt do what he felt for the hybrid any justice. “It’s similar to what I once felt for you mother, yet completely different, with it’s own set of hardships and complications,” he said as he turned down a street, knowing they were close.
He wanted to believe, truly and wholly he wanted to, but he couldnt. Maybe it was the lingering remains of the heartbreak forcing his mind to think of all sorts of reasons why he wasnt good enough, and he knew the enhancement on his own selfdoubt was a passing thing. He bit the inside of his lower lip as she spoke of going back, wanting to tell her that she wanted her to stay just a little longer. The wolf wasnt shy of demanding, but Jake knew that family was important. She had to go back so they could see her be fine and not like the state she had left them in. She was listening to his heart, pounding a little as he felt the insides of his palms still be a little damp from having her so close. “I probably wouldnt be. But sometimes it has to be that way. We’ll see each other more often now, alright? It’ll work out in the end,” he said with a small smile, trying to be as comforting to her as she had been to him. He had seen his father be comforting to the people he loved and how he seemed to do it with ease, yet Jake didnt find it easy at all - Being neevous he said the wrong thing or something that wasnt quite enough.
Eaden knew Buffy would catch on eventually hadnt Leona started to explain ahead. He frowned a little, not because he didnt think that his father wasnt deserving of a little pain, but because he knew it hurt Buffy more. Her whisper made him clench his jaw but it didnt seem like her aunt caught up on her words as it was just a whisper. Leona saw how Buffy leaned onto Vanessa, frowning a little as she seemed to understand, “I didnt mean to hurt your fiancé, if that’s what you’re thinking Boadicea. You know me,” she said with a serious tone just as the tall demon stepped in with a young looking woman under his arm. Leona stared at him as she lifted her hand to grasp around her bandage. Baal couldnt finish the conversation with Dinah before they walked in, looking at his attacker in a half-surprise half-expectation as he wasnt sure what to say. He sighed in relief as he saw Buffy in front of him, smiling as she inspected his wounds. “It’s alright,” he whispered to her with an assuring voice, not wanting her to worry about it. Eaden went to Dinah, wrapping his arms around her as he held her close to him. “Ahuvati shelli,” he mumbled in her hair as he felt like he had been reunited with his missing piece.
As the dark angel turned her attention to her, Leona just kept her eyes on her in silence as the angel spoke. As soon as she had seen the demon walk in, she knew what they knew. She crossed her arms as she looked at the girl, “I did what I’ve vowed to do my whole life. What good would there be in a demon who’s returning from hell?” She asked with a tone just as stern as the angel’s. She looked to where Buffy had gone, sighing as she ran a hand through her hair, “I acted on behalf of every slayer. Should I had spared him? Trust that his intentions wouldnt be ending innocent lives?” She shook her head with a deep frown. She didnt believe it. “You cant just make a judgement based on assumption,” Eaden scorned her, but she just turned her face with a calm demeanor to greet his angry eyes, “I have to,” she said before she turned to Dinah again. Vanessa just kept a little in the background, seeing how Leona seemed to be clashing with the twins made the young demon turn her face to the bedroom as she was worried what would happen if Buffy were to see this. She had felt like she was on guard ever since the angel arrived, but it was just the way the angel seemed to look at everyone but Buffy, like she wouldnt mind killing them in cold blood right here and now.
Baal smiled a little at Buffy as she laid him down, placing a hand on her cheek as he looked at her face, “You can thank Spot for me being here. I wouldnt have been if he hadnt pulled her away,” he said as he pushed himself up on his elbow, gritting his teeth a little as it hurt, yet he didnt want to just lie down and feel useless. “It was my own fault, I went to hell to talk to my father, trying to figure out what this all means,” he said, not wanting to keep anything hidden from the woman he loved with all his heart. “But I didnt end up in hell at first,” he said as he frowned a little, moving his thumb along her cheekbone, “I met Ivory in limbo. I dont know how I managed to get there, it doesnt make sense to me, but she was there. She told me that she’ll come back to be among the living,” he added as he shifted between her green eyes, knowing it probably wasnt pleasant to hear if she still had her fears. “She knows about you and what you mean to me,” he said before he exhaled deeply and removed his hand from her cheek. |

| Dinah knew her father was trying, but she still felt like she was the problem in some way. Had she been born another species, perhaps he would have not chosen one over the other like this. Hearing her father speak of her mother was strange in so many ways, but it was also nice to finally hear something. Finally him putting words onto what once was. In a way Dinah was perhaps a bit more childish, having a dream of a reunited family, but she also knew she could not force her father to be with her mother. She shook her head as he started talking about Buffy. ”You don’t have to justify your feelings,” she said with a hint of a smile before they moved on.
Nessa felt his heart beat a little faster, listening to the steady music coming from his being and it made her smile. She wished to always hear that sound, feel the warmth of his body, hearing his breath get hasty as she was close. He didn’t need to tell her what she could hear and feel. He didn’t want her to go yet. Nessa smiled at his words, knowing he was finding it hard, but she liked that about him. There was something so human and real about the way Jake acted. It wasn’t sofisticated like her father or overly loving like her mother. It was something different, something that made her feel warm even just thinking of him. ”You could stay with me tonight? I don’t know what my parents will say, but you being there while I sleep always give me such a calm feeling,” she said leaning away to look at him. She just wanted him close, there was no sin in that. Part of her knew that anything further than a kiss was off limits, it was not something that was allowed. At least that was what the lamb kept telling her in a calm tone. She exhaled, feeling conflicted as she really just was a confused girl in a teenager’s body, trying to convince a thousand year old spirit to just let her kiss the guy she liked. It was awfully complicated. ”I think I could convince them, I think I would just have to explain,” she said, looking down as she felt a little ashamed of her need for Jake in that way. She wanted to latch on to him, stay with him until her last day came and never look back, however she could not do that to her family. Her gentle mother would not be able to handle it, and her father would never accept such a thing.
Dinah felt Eaden’s arms surround her, and she hid her face shortly in his chest, holding him close before she turned her attention to the stranger in the apartment. ”How dare you; how dare you think you can pass judgement on death,” Dinah said, her eyes glowing faintly as she looked at the angel. There was a strong power in her, telling her that the angel in front of her thought herself higher than any being. She gritted her teeth, looking intently on Leona, holding Eaden’s hand as if it was the only thing keeping her standing. ”Vanessa, please be careful,” she said in a stern voice, not wanting the demon to get hurt if the angel decided to lash out. Dinah seemed calm, but on the inside she felt like she was burning up. ” I know you, I took you to the afterlife,” she said, narrowing her eyes, wondering why she had been brought back. ”What do you wish to do? Hurt those you seem fit, like a child plucking off the wings of insects just for fun?” she asked in a cold tone. She wanted Eaden to go to safety, but she also needed him by her side. She needed to feel in control, and that was what her brother did to her.
Buffy couldn’t handle listening to her aunt explain herself, her focus was solely on Baal and helping him in to the bedroom. She didn’t like seeing him in this state and she felt so much regret of having one of her family members actually hurting the love of her life. ”It’s not alright,” Buffy mumbled as she looked at him, feeling his hand on her cheek. Baal spoke, but she couldn’t really listen. She took in the information, but there was so many questions now. Why would Baal’s father have to be involved in all of this? Then he spoke of his former love, making her swallow hard, looking down as she placed her hand over his hand as it moved from her cheek. ”Belial, I can’t lose you,” she whispered, feeling weak in this moment. She felt like her past was catching up to her, and perhaps it was. ”I need you in my life, I need to feel your love and know that the two of us are meant to last for eternity,” she said, feeling her voice break a bit at the vulnerable moment she was in right now. ”I … I don’t want to ever become anything you used to love,” she said, moving her eyes to look at her demon, feeling like she needed to say it, or she would never get it out. She loved him deep down, and she wanted him to know that she meant every word. She leaned over him, placing a gentle kiss on his lips, briefly pressing their foreheads together before getting to her feet. She took a deep breath, looking at him with caring eyes. ”Get some rest; I think I’ll need to stop a war in our livingroom,” she said, a sad smile appearing on her lips as she went back to the livingroom. Her fears were right, seeing Dinah clearly upset and her aunt had never looked as stern as she did right now. ”Auntie; Please explain this mess – Did you hurt him?” she asked in a pleading voice, feeling her heart break a little.

| Jake smiled a little at her words, knowing had she been any other girl, he’d think that it wouldnt be just a innocent sleepover. But he liked that about Nessa, how everything was simple and out in the open, so when she said sleepover, it was what it was. He had a hopeful smile on his lips, as his eyes met hers. “I dont think that would be wise,” he then said as he shook his head a little, knowing that even though she was simple, he was still a young man with the mindset of one to match - The wolf might had sped up certain things in his mind, but he wasnt all that changed. And the way his palms felt so sweaty at her being near assured him that his body had another idea. But Nessa just seemed to certain that it could work, how could he not let her have her way and just follow? He swallowed hard as he gave it some thought, as the last thing he wanted was to make her feel rejected or hurt. “I’ll be sleeping on the floor. We can hold hands, but not risk any teenage dumb-foolery,” he said, a necesserity more than a suggestion.
Her words rendered him speechless for a bit, mostly because he hadnt expected her fears to be in that sort of way. He knew she needed to say it, so he waited, letting her say what she needed to say. When she finished, he moved a little on his elbow to get more comfortable as he looked at her face for a bit. “I’ll give you nothing but honesty. I cant tell you what the future may bring, but what I do know is that I would fight for us with all my might,” he said as he felt her lips on his, feeling the tiny tingles in his core at the gentle way her lips moved over his. He closed his eyes as he felt her forehead shortly before she moved away. He laid back down, sighing as he just wanted her to stay and forget the world. Yet it was just his selfish thoughts getting the best of him. He nodded as she left, closing his eyes even though he was sure he couldnt sleep. He closed his eyes and clenched the mark in his hand as he placed his arm over his eyes. The hound lifted it’s head in the livingroom, sitting down as it seemed to idly observe was what going on.
Leona scoffed at Dinah’s words, “I follow the orders I’m given. They point and I oblige,” she said with a frown, feeling like the angel saw her as someone who enjoyed killing. As she kept staring at her, Leona kept her eyes on her as well as if a staredown was happening in this very room. Eaden held Dinah’s hand, pulling a little at it as he felt a worry grow. He was sure Dinah could handle the angel, but if she were to get hurt in even the slightest, he was sure he would lose it. Vanessa nodded at Dinah’s words, stepping a little back as she subtly cut her palm with a sharp nail, feeling the blood slowly form in her hand. She lookef at Leona as she kept her distance, yet her face didnt show any signs of her distrust, but she did feel angry that this angel might have hurt Baal as she considered him a good friend. Leona looked at Dinah with a frown as she seemed to recognize her, only that it didnt seem to faze the blonde angel. But the notion that she had been right in assuming Dinah thought she liked it made her angry. Eaden eyed Leona as he started shaking his head slightly while he begged in his mind for her to keep her mouth shut, like he knew her next words would be pissing him off. “You can think what you want, I dont have to explain myself to you,” she said in a distasteful tone, her dislike for the dark energy in Dinah shining through her words. Eaden sighed deeply as he lifted a hand to freeze Leona’s bones in place, letting go of Dinah as he walked up to her, “If you ever speak of my sister in that tone again,” he said in a low calm tone as he removed a blonde string of hair from her shoulder. He looked back at her, rolling the strand between his fingers, “I’ll make sure you’ll never speak again,” he then said in a serious tone, keeping his hand in control of her bones. He walked back to Dinah, yet Leona didnt seem to mind not having control over her body. “Dont you have your own orders to follow?” She asked with a cold tone. Buffy came back into the room and Leona would have turned her face to look at her, had she been able to. Eaden was grinding his teeth a little as Buffy asked her question, frowning as he let go of her bones to let her move again. Leona looked at Buffy with sad eyes, as she knew she couldnt lie. “Boadicea. You know the code,” she said with sad eyes as she looked at her niece. She sighed deeply, “I hurt him,” she admitted, making Vanessa frown as she felt her blood boil. But instead of doing something rash, she kept her calm, though the blood was still moving around in her hand, ready to solidify at any time. |

| Nessa furrowed her eyes as she looked at him as she didn’t understand what wasn’t wise about it. He made her calm, made her sleep through the whole night and made her feel safe; what wasn’t wise about that? As he said he would be sleeping on the floor she sighed, because she really just liked being close to him, but if it made him feel better she would live with it. ”Teenage dumb-foolery?” she asked, a bit confused, but part of her also knew what he meant. She could feel it pull at her to be closer to Jake, but her mind could not keep up. However she would not deny that them having a bit of distance while at her parent’s house was probably a good idea. ”Let’s go then, we don’t have to hurry back,” she said, smiling at him as if he was the only one in the world that mattered. It was not a lie that he mattered so much, but she cared for other people as well, however Jake had a certain place in her heart that she could not change no matter what she did. She entangled their fingers, stopping shortly as she just seemed to admire his face for a few seconds. ”Do you need to tell your parents you won’t be home tonight?” she asked, leaning her head to the side as she looked at him.
Dinah hated people who saw themselves above all else, and that was how she felt Leona view herself. She might take orders, but who gave these orders? She saw as her brother became more protective of her, using his abilities and keeping the angel still in her movements. Even if he did this, she kept her hand in his, needing him close. ”Orders? I call it instinct, and you better not start comparing the two of us,” Dinah said through gritted teeth. The Buffy came in and Dinah felt like the hybrid should just stay out of it. This was a matter between angels, but then the halfling stepped in between them, making her sigh as she leaned against her brother. She didn’t want to start a fight but she would if the angel would not behave. One thing was hurting their father, another thing was what would happen if she were to hurt Eaden. She would raise hell from it’s depths and crush the angel as if she was a mere mortal. She felt herself shake, scared that she was having this anger and judgement in her still, but having Eaden there kept her under control somehow.
Buffy sighed at Leona’s words and nodded. ”I am a slayer; protector of good and destroyer of evil. With my ability I intend to lay down my life for the mortal realm; may my hunt end with a swift death and the revenge taken by my decendants,” she said. She knew those words by heart, she knew because she had used it to remind herself of who she once was. Buffy took a sharp inhale as Leona said she had hurt him, feeling tears in her eyes appear. She could feel everyone in the room tense, and she knew she had to fix it somehow. ”Auntie, you said he was coming from hell, but did you stop to question him? Did you ask of his intensions? If he had been forced to hell and back against his will?” she asked, feeling like she had seen herself as her aunt once did. Someone who followed orders and ended lives without questioning. ”Well if you had, you would have known how much he cares for your own flesh and blood, you would know he devotes his life to ending evil as well and that he has the most beautiful children this world will ever see,” she said, feeling her tears fall down her cheeks now. ”You would know he is there for every friend he makes, that he never stops if he sets his mind to it, and that despite his demonic appearance, he is an angel on the inside,” she said looking at Eaden then Dinah and finally to Vanessa. ”You would know that he has a family here, that your own blood would end her life if he was never to come back to her,” she said, moving her eyes back to Leona, swallowing as she knew she was telling her truth.

| Nessa's question made him laugh as he looked away for a bit, feeling a bit like he was caught red handed in stealing Kyle's wording, "It's something my father said once. He stopped saying it however, because it would alwas just make my sister and I laugh," he explained as he looked at her. "I'm guessing it's another word for doing it, you know?" he said with a chuckle and a crooked smile. He couldnt lie and say he wasnt attracted to her in that way, his body found that way too easy for him to deny. He nodded at her words, smiling a little as he looked shortly at the sky, "It is turning dark soon, so we'd probably have to pick up a pace if we want to make it before that," he said, pulling out his phone to check the clock. It wasnt that late, but darkness came quicker now when autumn was kicking in for winter to come. He dropped the phone back in his pocket as she entangled their fingers, looking at her in some sort of anticipation for her to say something as she was just looking at his face. Her question made him gasp, he probably should have thought of that. He shook his head and started walking again, as he looked at her, "I'll shoot him a text later. They're not as worried for me as they are for the rest. They know I keep outta trouble," he said as he gave her hand a soft squeeze. He moved his eyes ahead, walking in a pace she could follow as he seemed to be a bit in his own thoughts. "What was that other way?" he asked, not knowing if it was something that required a little more time than the walk back to her parents.
The recitement would have been able to make the angel smile back in the day, the dedication that the hybrid had had was nothing but astonishing. But now it was more a reminder of what could have been and what was lost. "Then you know I had no other choice," she said, not sounding stern like she had with Dinah, more pleading than ever. Buffy's question sparked shame but it also sparked her skepticism. Were she to believe a demon wouldnt have lied it's ass off to keep it's life? It was a hard thing for Leona to believe. A demon that was so caring and good that he could have been an angel. It sounded right as believable as if Buffy had told her that pigs could actually fly. But even if she thought of it as the talk of a madwoman, she reminded herself that it was her niece and the last remaining link to her deceased sister. She sighed deeply as she clenched her hand at Buffy saying she couldnt live without her demon, how had one who once so fiercely fought these evil creatures, suddenly become infatuated with one at such a large scale. She looked at Buffy with sad eyes, like she was trying her hardest to understand but to no avail. “Belial, you called him. There has only been one demon of such name in the old archive,” she said as she sighed and shrugged with both of her shoulders, “I see the love you feel for him. And it hurts me to say this, but I feel like you need to know,” she said as she grabbed her niece’s hands and held them tight. “You were once send to kill this demon. I remember because I was supervising the case,” she looked down for a bit before she looked back up. “Even if he is an angel. He’s the son of the devil. A direct bloodline to the creator of these monsters we kill,” turning her eyes to the others for a second, "No offense," she said before looking at Buffy. "He could be the sweetest man alive, but his blood wont carry that flavour through generations forever," she said as she shifted between Buffy’s eyes. She then glanced at Dinah and Eaden, knowing they were his children. “And he hasnt been an angel always,” she said as she frowned a little, contemplating how much she could say and not get in trouble for telling. “I cant be the one to tell you. But if you want to know. Ask your demon about his life before fatherhood,” she then said as she let go of Buffy’s hands. She could tell by the looks of everyone that she wasnt welcome here anymore. She gave Buffy a light kiss on her forehead before she moved to the door to go out. She stopped before going. “But I am proud to see you protect what you love,” she said as her last words before walking out the door. Eaden scoffed as Leona had left, feeling his jaw shake a little with anger, "What the hell does she know of our blood? Or of us?" he asked in an angry tone, demanding answers in his tone, though he wasnt sure if anyone in this room could give them. Vanessa shook his head at him, "Eaden, it's not gonna help," she reminded him. Eaden just scoffed again and shook his head, ready to say more but he decided against it after repeating Vanessa's words in his mind. "Where is that pizza guy anyway?" he suddenly asked instead, feeling oddly irritable, though he was more worried that Dinah would have to walk home hungry. |

| ”Doing it?” Nessa asked, now even more confused. It was like she had so much knowledge, but the weird slang she knew nothing of. However there was something in her body telling her that it was not something she was meant to know of. The lamb was always calm in it’s voice, always guiding her and telling her stories, but it was like the lamb now went silent. She nodded at his words about it soon getting dark, that it was best to get back before the night fell. They started walking and she felt so happy feeling his hand in hers, leaning her head a bit against his arm. Of course he had not thought of informing his parents, but she was happy to remind him. The other way. She exhaled, looking down as she felt like it would be impossible. ”The other way is not an easy choice,” she said swallowing as she feared what could happen. ”I am going to be the one to break the seals that holds back the end of the world,” she said, looking down as it felt weird to say it out loud like this. ”The world would be able to handle a few seals being broken, but if the fourth seal is broken, everything is lost,” she said taking a deep breath, giving Jake’s hand a soft squeeze. ”Either I am killed, or any of the holders of the four first seals are killed,” she said looking down. She knew who the fourth seal was, and she didn’t like thinking of her own sister dead. ”I don’t know if it would even be posible to do it, I barely know if I would even live long enough for it to happen,” she said in a sad voice. She didn’t like taking things for granted, but she didn’t like dwelling in the future that laid ahead.
”You always have a choice,” Buffy argued, gritting her teeth as she felt like she could cry more and more, looking at her aunt. She started speaking of Baal’s past, and the hybrid simplys hook her head as her aunt spoke. ”I know what he is; I have accepted his past, present and future,” she said in a sad tone, looking at her aunt with begging eyes. She didn’t want her to go, she wanted her to stay, to let them talk this out, but in the end it was clear what road Leona would take. ”People can change!” Buffy argued, yelling at her aunt as she left, feeling her whole body shiver. She felt like she was being torn to pieces, being broken apart slowly as her friends and family was watching. Taking a deep breath she leaned against the wall, covering her mouth with her hand as she felt unable to answer anything.
Dinah felt tired, felt like she could pass out any minute, but the angel that left had made her feel less tired. She was alert, pulling herself closer to Eaden, placing a kiss against his jaw as she heard how upset he was. ”She thinks she knows everything, but she is ignorant,” she mumbled against his skin, closing her eyes. She was hungry, of course she was, but she felt a stronger hunger for letting out her anger. ”Most angels are stuck up, think they are God’s gift to mankind, but they are all blind of what is going to happen,” she whispered, placing a hand on Eaden’s cheek. He changed the subject and she couldn’t help but chuckle a bit as she looked at her brother. Just at that remark there was a faint knock on the door and Dinah moved from her brother’s embrace to the door, opening it with a tired look on her face. ”Sorry for the delay, we were a bit busy, but there’s some free coke with it,” the delivery guy said. Dinah didn’t even answer, taking the pizza and drinks, paying the guy before closing the door. It was warm still, and she placed it on the table. ”You, father and Vanessa probably need some substance as well,” she said, giving Eaden a soft smile only meant for him before she headed for the fridge, grabbing a few vials of liquified soul. It was not wise using so much at once, but it was better than sending them out for a hunt now that the crazed angel raged the streets. She gave one to Vanessa, giving her a thankful look as she looked at the blood in her hand. Then she gave one to Buffy, knowing she would probably pass it on to Baal, and then she went to her brother, giving him the vial.

| "Oh lord, Nessa, I dont think we should be having this talk right before a sleepover," Jake said with a big smile and a laugh as he shook his head. It was better to save that talk for a time where they werent going to spend a night together. "It's um. Something intimate that happens when people are in love," he said, trying not to get into too many details, as he then sighed like he had said something wrong. He rubbed his cheek, "Some people do it even though they're not in love. But it's just.... I dont know what it is," he said, his mind yelling at him to shut up and stop sounding so stupid. He just kept his quiet for a while as they walked. He listened to her answer to his question as they walked, feeling like knots were forming in his chest. It all seemed so complicated, all this talk of seals that he felt like he knew all and nothing about. "Well, from what I know from the wolf in me, I'm supposed to be some sort of holy hand in it all. I suppose the wolf is just waiting to take over, but I'm hoping that I'll be able to talk it into some sort of merge," he said, feeling like he was rambling and yet it made sense to him. He looked at her, "I cant just let you die. I cant," he said as she seemed to think she wouldnt even live that long. "Who are the four seals?" he asked with a raised eyebrow.
Leona wasnt happy about her argument, but she was trying her best not to get angry with Buffy. She just knew she needed to think about all this. Eaden felt himself relax a little as the angel left, turning his head to look at his sister as she spoke to him. Her words made him frown, it seemed all too true. He didnt like the notion of what was to come, so he changed the subject rather fast. Dinah's chuckle was all he needed to feel grounded again, glancing back at the door as a knock was heard. The hound had been sitting observantly at the whole ordeal, almost like a statue, but as soon as Leona had left, it was like the beast came back to life. It stood up on it's feet as it walked calmly over to sit at Buffy's side, nuzzling it's nose against her leg as it looked up at her with it's glowing red eyes, like it was trying to cheer her up.
Eaden took the vial and looked at it before he looked at his sister, "We'll be fine," he said even though it probably was wiser to feast. He wasnt all that fond of these vials that his father had, but they did do the trick. Vanessa looked at the vial, smiling at Dinah before she went over to Buffy to stand at her side, leaning a little to her friend as she sighed deeply, "Give it a rest for tonight," she said like she knew Buffy felt torn at her aunt's behaviour tonight. "Call your daughter and hear how she is, after you should go rest with your fiancé," she said like she had planned it all for Buffy, but she just knew how devastating it could be when family was acting up in a way like this. "Your aunt will come around eventually. My thick-headed uncle did, when he didnt agree with the relationship I had with Ethan," she said, hoping it could spark a little hope for the hybrid. She drank her vial, grabbing Buffy's hand as she felt the soul do it's work. It wasnt often that she consumed souls, she would rather eat blood as it felt more filling. She looked down at the hound for a bit before she raised her eyebrow, "You just dont know how to rest, do you?" she asked it before she leaned back against the wall. |

| Nessa listened to Jake, and part of her understood, the other part found the concept hard to grasp. She gave his hand a squeeze, looking in to his eyes with a calm demeanor. ”Well if we both don’t know what it is, then I guess we’ll have to find out eventually, or?” she said, not knowing fully the extend of what he was trying to explain. If he loved her, would he do what he was referring to? Or was his addition of not needing love to do the certain thing salt in the wound? She couldn’t really tell, but decided not to worry about it further. Walking and talking of such things made her worry, mostly because she felt like Jake would stop at nothing to keep her alive. In a way, she found it reassuring, but on the other hand she also felt like it would disrupt the natura lorder. ”I only know one of the seals; my sister is the fourth,” she said in a calm voice, fearing what might go through his head. She had seen them bickering, but would Jake choose to take her sister’s life to keep her alive? It sounded awful when it was laid out like that. ”But I know all of the seals are supposed to be in direct line with the first fallen angel,” she said, looking at Jake as she felt her stomach turn. Either way, it was someone from her family that would die.
”You’ll be fine,” Dinah replied in a mocking tone, but mostly because he always held her at a higher standard. They had agreed to try and be equal in every way, but perhaps this was one area where they couldn’t hide their bias. She grabbed a piece of the pizza before sitting down on a chair. Her body was exhausted, but she needed to eat something before her and Eaden headed home or she wouldn’t hear the end of it. The pizza was nice, still warm as she tried swallowing it, but she was really just so tired. Leaning back in the chair she kept eating until the piece was gone, sighing as if it had been an uphill battle to get it down. She looked to her brother with a smile, gesturing for him to come over to her. Today she hungered for him to be close, and she couldn’t tell why. Perhaps it was because the day had turned into something crazy, or perhaps it was because she felt bad for canceling their date for this. She took his hand, placing a sweet kiss on the back of his hand, looking at him with half closed eyes. ”We should head back,” she mumbled, but she already knew she wouldn’t be able to sleep alone.
Buffy sighed, rubbing Spot behind his ear as he nuzzled his nose against her, smiling mildly at him. Everything had been so simple when it had just been Baal, her and Spot, but she wouldn’t change a thing. She loved her family, loved having them close to her. Vanessa spoke to her, making her lean her head against her friend, resting her eyes briefly as she tried breathing calmly. Though they were the same age, it sometimes felt like in another world they could have been siblings, if not both of their families had been this crazy. ”I feel like the more I rest, the more I miss out on life,” Buffy mumbled, but she was finding his phone, dialing her daughter as she just leaned against her friend. ”Hi love, are you coming home tonight?” Buffy said when Nessa picked up. She could hear her daughter smile, hear her happiness and it was like it was rubbing off on the otherwise sad hybrid. ”Of course, I’ll make a bed ready for him,” Buffy said, a faint smile on her lips. She knew her aunt would never hurt someone like Nessa walking down the street, but she couldn’t help but worry a bit. ”Hurry back, my little miracle, there’s pizza for both of you,” she said, saying goodbye to her daughter before hanging up. She breathed out, moving to her feet and turning to look at Vanessa. She wrapped her hands around her friend. ”Please tell me someone is coming to pick you up,” she whispered, feeling scared that Vanessa might get attacked. It wasn’t that Buffy questioned her friend’s ability to fight, she just didn’t want to have it on her consious to be related to the one hurting her friends and family.
Nessa had just hung up with her mother, smiling at Jake as she gave his hand a squeeze. ”I hope you’re hungry,” she chuckled before they turned the last corner leading to her home. Though Jake lived in a large mansion, Nessa prefered the close atmosphere of an apartment. She walked up the stairs, stopping a floor before the door, looking Jake in the eye with a smile on her lips. ”Calm your wolf,” she whispered, placing her free hand over his heart. ”And if it get’s too tough, my bedroom is two doors down from the livingroom,” she chuckled before she moved the last few steps and entered the apartment.
Buffy got up as she heard the door opening, smiling at her daughter as she entered with Jake. She barely noticed the two holding hands, mostly just happy to have her home. She went to her daughter, giving her a kiss on her pale hair before she looked at Jake with a grateful look in her eyes. ”There’s pizza in the living room; I think Vanessa, Dinah and Eaden is just about to leave, so just dig in – I’ll need to take some care of your father,” Buffy explained with a sad smile, but she seemed to have gotten herself together, much because of Vanessa being there for her.

| His eyes flew up at her question and he felt like something suddenly made him choke up, small coughs leaving his mouth as he tried to clear his throat from the sudden sensations of knots being made in his throat. He looked at her with his eyebrows raised and a soft yet nervous smile, "Maybe. If it feels right. It has to feel right," he said as he shifted between her eyes, knowing that she had no idea what he was speaking of. It wasnt that he had much experience in the field, and what experience he had, he wasnt so sure he wanted to think about when it had been with Dinah, her sister. He nodded as she said it was Dinah. He frowned a little and looked down as she made it sound like it wasnt a big deal with her calm tone. He wasnt really thinking of killing Dinah, sure they had their clashes since she picked Eaden over him, but it didnt mean that he wanted her dead. He sighed at her last words and lifted his gaze up and forth, a pondering expression in his eyes as the skin around his eyes tightened ever so slightly. "Well, I dont want you to die. And apparently someone has to," he said as he looked at her with serious eyes. He wasnt going to pick Dinah, but if he had to choose, it was going to be someone else than Nessa.
Eaden noticed Dinah struggle with her pizza as he stood by the window to look out on people - Not sure why he felt so on guard, but he hadnt really noticed yet himself that he was behaving this way. He didnt think twice about her gesture, walking over her to sit down on the chair next to her, lifting a foot to place on the stick connecting the legs as it allowed him to lean closer to her. He watched her take his hand and lift it to her lips, tilting his head as he made a sigh of content, "It's gonna suck when I get that new roommate. I prefered the privacy," he said with a suggestive smirk as he leaned a little closer to place a gentle kiss on her cheekbone, letting his lips linger over her soft skin for a while as he inhaled her scent. "When we get back, I'll make sure you'll be ready to sleep in no time," he said in a low tone against her skin with a chuckle, not really suggesting anything particularly sexual as he had gotten a taste for the sensual part of intimacy. "I was thinking maybe a massage," he whispered as he moved his lips off her face. He grabbed her hand before pulling her to her feet with him, walking out to Buffy and Vanessa, seeing Buffy on the phone with Nessa. He motioned with his hands and lips that they were gonna go, before he looked at Buffy, "You'll always be a part of our family," he whispered, feeling like he needed to say it, before he looked at Dinah and let her say her farewell. He couldnt wait to get home and entangle himself with his better half under the covers, finally putting an end to this day of surprise and exhaustion with something he longed for.
"I'm always hungry," he assured her with a chuckle. That was one of the better sides of being a werewolf. But it was just that - A good thing when it was useful. He couldnt imagine what it would be like to have a hunger like his and no means of food available. It was probably why werewolves prefered hunting their meals, as a bought meal didnt quite satisfy the need that there was to keep the muscles in motion. It wasnt just about eating a lot, it was also to keep in motion to avoid restlessness. As she asked him to keep his wolf calm, he drew in a sharp yet long breath, knowing it might be a more difficult thing to do - Control he had all that he wanted, but it didnt stop the wolf from snarling inside his head like a wild beast at the sight of these ungodly species. He nodded at her words before they stepped in, looking at Buffy with apologetic eyes as she approached them. He let her speak to her daughter before he cleared his throat before speaking, "I'm sorry I was so harsh on you before. It's just hard to keep calm when it comes to her," he said as he glanced at Nessa with a small smile. He looked back at Buffy, "It's not my place to judge your soul at all," he said with a sincere tone as he reached his hand forward to her, "I'm Jake. I've been the one Nessa has been visiting," he then introduced himself before he would give her hand a firm squeeze if she choose to take his hand. Vanessa made a few nods as she narrowed her eyes a little, "A wise young man," she said in a chuckle before she looked at Buffy. "I'll be fine, I promise," she promised as she lifted her fingers to cross them. She wasnt worried whether she ran into Leona, as the angel hadnt seemed like she wanted a fight. And she sure wasnt going to start worrying about her safety in this part of town - It was a part of the charm that southside bore with it. "I'll come by soon," she then said as she ruffled up Nessa's hair, gently yet enough to make it a mess - Smiling brightly as she removed her hand, "Stay cute," she told her before she looked at the hound, frowning a little, before she looked at Buffy, "You should tell your fiancé that it isnt very nice to snoop around through his dog," she said with a stern tone, though playful was plastered all over it. She went out towards the door, sending Buffy a peace sign as she disappeared out of sight. She had to explain the whole situation to Ethan when she got home, knowing he was probably more than worried.
It was like Vanessa's words had frozen the hound in place, just for a few seconds, before it came back to reality, this time acting like it was actually a dog rather than the observant state it had had before. Baal moved his arm off his eyes, blinking a few times as he looked at the ceiling. The mark was burning as the unholy power seemed to fight the holy that still lingered in the handmarks, and him using his hound as his eyes and ears hadnt been that good of an idea. He sat up, rubbing the skin over the artifact as he felt a little drowsy. He got up from the bed, just to unwillingly sit down again as he sighed deeply. He gritted his teeth as he shook his head, pushing himself up to stagger a little as he thought he was going to fall. He made it to the window, placing his palm on the frame as he looked at the sky for a bit. No clouds - It was going to be a star filled night. |

| Dinah sighed as she finally felt him close. Ever since they had made up, it had been almost painful for her when they were apart, feeling almost restless. The small kiss on her cheekbone made her smile at him, his words making a bit of color appear in her cheeks. She wasn’t too keen on saying stuff like that aloud, especially when family was close by. He mentioned a massage, and she already knew her body to be tense, so she nodded in agreement. He helped her to her feet, letting their fingers entangle as they headed over to say their goodbye to Buffy. ”Make sure you all get rest,” Dinah said, but she didn’t want to add what she was thinking, because she knew it would be implied. They all needed to rest if what was coming up ahead was to be true. They moved out to the stairs, passing Nessa and Jake, Dinah was too tired to say anything, but her hand graced her little sister and she simply nodded to Jake as a goodnight. The air outside was cold, but she had Eaden to warm herself against. ”What a day,” she said, exhaling and looking up at the sky, faint stars already peeking through the darkness. ”Maybe we should get an apartment,” she said, frowning as she was thinking out loud, but she was tired of sneaking around on campus. She wanted a safe place like her father and Buffy had.
Nessa chuckled at his words about being hungry, smiling at Dinah and Eaden as they passed them and went in to the apartment still holding Jake’s hand. Her mother was there quite fast, but she didn’t mind it. She loved her parents deeply, and that was going to be the hardest part about what was coming up ahead. Nessa was happy to see Jake finally introduce himself properly, and giggled at Vanessa ruffling up her hair. ”I’ll see ya,” she said to the demon, smiling at her. Nessa liked having their strange family, and she hoped that Jake for the time being could feel welcome in their home.
Buffy took Jake’s hand, smiling at him with a genuine look of care in her eyes. ”We all say things when we are upset; don’t worry too much – You took my daughter to safety and I’m grateful for that,” she said as she let go of Jake’s hand to say her goodbye to Vanessa. ”I’ll tell him,” she chuckled, scratching Spot on the head as he seemed to return to his dog-like self. Buffy breathed out as her friend left, looking at the hellhound. ”You should return home, let your master have his rest,” she said to the dog, before her gaze went to Nessa and Jake. ”There’s a spare bed in the room next to Nessa, I hope it’s fine,” Buffy said with a tired gaze in her eyes. She kissed her daughter one last time on her forehead before heading in to the bedroom where she saw Baal standing. She walked to him, wrapping an arm carefully around his waist, kissing his shoulder with tender lips. ”You should be resting, not snooping as Vanessa put it,” she said in a soft voice, not wanting to speak too loud. She knew he wasn’t in a great shape, just the way he was leaning his palms against the frame of the window told enough. ”What is keeping you awake?” she asked, looking at him in the faint light coming from the stars and moon alike.
Nessa pulled Jake with her in to the livingroom, the large pizza had barely been touched and she smiled to the werewolf, gesturing for him to just dig in. The small girl had quite the appetite herself, but she decided to eat at a normal rate, looking at Jake as she chewed on her slice. ”We could move the mattress, if you wanted?” she suggested, looking at the guy she had come to love so much. It was strange, because these emotions seemed so strong, like she had known him before. Of course the lamb had known the wolf before, but not in this way, that was for certain. She looked down, chuckling a bit to herself. ”I don’t think I’ve ever been this happy,” she said, looking at him with a warmness in her eyes.

| Eaden gave Jake a long look before he managed to make a small smile as he knew Nessa would otherwise notice. His smile turned brighter as he looked at his little sister, waving as he continued to walk with Dinah instead of stopping to say hello. He just wanted to get home and he was sure that the talk could wait till everything had calmed down. When they got outside, he placed his arm around Dinah to keep her close to him. He chuckled at her words and made a deep sigh as he couldnt really agree more, "Yeah," he said in a lowered tone as he kept his eyes ahead. He hadnt expected that their change of plans had brought so many new discoveries and reunions with it, even now when he was away from it, he still had a hard time processing the whole ordeal. "An apartment would be great. We wouldnt have to worry about roommates or keeping our privacy," he said in a pondering tone as he glanced at her, "But do we have an economy for it?" he asked her with a more serious tone. He wasnt even going to think about getting money from their father, even though he wouldnt mind using his advantage of their father wanting to make ammends for his childhood - He just didnt want to feel like he would be in any sort of debt.
Jake felt grateful for Buffy's understanding as to why he had acted as he did, but he still couldnt help but feel a little lingering regret. He smiled at her regardless with a hopeful smile, "I intend to keep her safe at any cost," he said as if he was almost reassuring her that he wasnt going to disappoint. The hound looked at Buffy with it's big red eyes as she told it to return, a small whimper leaving it's mouth before it walked to the wall, just to disappear through it like it hadnt ever been there. Jake watched it disappear with a confused expression before looking at Buffy as she instructed him of where he could sleep. He nodded, "It's perfect," he said before he looked at Nessa. He wondered just how awkward the situation would turn once he met the tall demon that he had once seen as a friend. He just stood there looking at the sky as he heard the door open. He drew in some deep yet silent breaths as he closed his eyes for a bit, to keep the pain at bay. She wrapped her arm around him and he turned his head to look at her as she kissed his shoulder so tenderly. Her words made him smile as he looked down as a small scoff left his lips, "Well it seems that my cover has been blown," he said with a soft smile as he leaned over to kiss her temple gently. He felt more than tired but it was like his mind just wouldnt let him drift off or rest. Too much had happened and he felt greatly at unease about it all. "My worries," he answered her question before he pushed his hand off the frame to get back to bed. He sat down as he supressed a groan that would have give away that he was still hurting. He looked at her, "How are you feeling?" he asked as he didnt want it to be all about him. He had seen how she looked when he came back, heard her hurt and feel weak. He reached out for her to pull her closer so he could wrap his arms around her hips to feel her comfort.
Jake didnt think twice as she gestured him towards the pizza, grabbing a slice that he seemed to almost devour in one go. He made a partly beastly growl in satisfaction at the taste before he froze for a bit, realizing he probably should behave a little more well mannered. He grabbed the next slice at a slower pace and actually took the time to bite and chew this time as he looked at Nessa. Her suggestion made him nod as he finished chewing a bite so he could talk, "That would help with the whole sleeping on the floor thing," he said with a smile before he took another bite. He looked at the pizza, inspecting the toppings as he chewed slowly, feeling the savoury flavour fill him with delight. "Good. I wouldnt want you not to be happy around me," he said with a small smirk, even though the warmness in her eyes made him feel tingles run down his spine. He finished a couple of slices before he looked at the rest of the pizza, exhaling deeply as he was debating whether to continue or not. "Isnt your mom going to be hungry?" he asked with a raised eyebrow, knowing that Dinah was probably the one who had had that one slice that was missing. |

| Dinah knew it would mean they would have to find the money for it, but she wondered if she could handle working, studying and handling everything else. ”I don’t think I would be very good at any job,” she admitted, a small chuckle escaping her lips as she looked up at him. She knew all she had to do was ask for money from either their father or their grandfather turned grandmother, but she didn’t know what they would ask in return. She shook her head, looking down as she knew it was silly to think like this, however she wished to have a place with Eaden. ”But the thought is nice,” she said, breathing out as she looked at the road ahead. She was considering so many solutions, but it was like they had to sacrifice something either way they turned it. If she stopped at the academy, she might be able to turn something out. ”If I were to stop studying, I could get a job and we could perhaps ask father for a small loan?” she said, putting some words on her thoughts. It wasn’t bulletproof, but she really just longed for a place where she didn’t have to worry about roommates or teachers snooping around. But with many other things in the world, it wasn’t fair.
Buffy sighed at Baal’s words, wanting to comfort him. Even though he was trying to hide it, she could see he was in pain, but she decided not to comment on it, placing the vial with the liquified soul on the nightstand. She felt his arms around her hips, pulling her closer to him and she leaned down, kissing his soft curls. ”I’m feeling better now that you are here, now that Nessa is home under our roof,” she said against his hair. She breathed in his scent, felt herself relax a bit more from the eventful day. ”But I also feel like I am to blame for you hurting now,” she whispered, holding him closer, her arms resting on his shoulders. She kissed his hair again, kissing it a few times just to feel him close and feel the comfort of his arms around her. Buffy felt like they had been apart longer than they had, but maybe that was just showing her how much she truly needed him. How deeply she cared for the one and only love she had ever had. ”My aunt spoke of your life before being a father,” she said, swallowing as she didn’t want to ruin the mood. She more wanted to hug him close, lay in bed for the next long hours and just hold him in her arms, but her curiosity had always been strong. ”I know you have told me of your former days briefly, but why does she look to you as if you were horrible?” she asked, feeling her heart sink at the question. She had long told him that she did not care for his past, and she didn’t, but she also needed to know now that everything was unraveling.
Nessa chuckled as she looked at him eat; it was strange but it felt so naturally seeing him just eat like this. She liked it, liked seeing that he really just acted on instinct. His words about her being happy made her giggle, looking down at her slice of pizza, touching a piece of the topping with her free hand. She was always happy around him, she just couldn’t help but smile when she even thought of him. There was part of her that told her to keep her distance, keep the relationship platonic, but the other part beckoned her to move closer to him. Touch his lips with her lips and press herself close to him. His question about her mother made her frown as she looked at Jake, feeling like she had been a little lost in her thoughts. ”Let’s save a slice for her, just in case,” she said, finishing her slice and leaning back against the couch. Nessa could feel her skin cold, frowning as she moved her hands up to rub her upper arms, getting some heat into her system. Then she stopped, shaking her head and feeling stupid. She moved closer to Jake, leaning against him and instantly feeling the heat radiating off of him. She sighed in content, relaxed as she sat up against him. The last thing she wanted to do was interrupt him eating, but there was a need for warmth in her. A need for him was maybe more accurate. ”The stars outside are going to show a lot tonight; if you’re not too tired, I’d like to stay up a bit and watch them,” she said looking up at him. Her hand moved to his lips, her thumb wiping away a bit of grease at the corner of his mouth before popping her finger in her mouth.

| "You're selling yourself short," he said as he looked at her with a little smile. He refused to think that she wouldnt be working her hardest to do her part, as she did with school. He thought about it for a little while longer as they walked, puckering his lips a little as she spoke, "It would be all I needed," he said with a sweet smile on his lips, which he wasnt usually. He could just already imagining waking up next to her without having to sneak out so the other students wouldnt notice. Her suggestion of dropping out made him frown a little as he started shaking his head in disagreement, "Definitely a no. You like going to school, I wouldnt take that away from you," he said as he looked at her. He stroked her shoulder gently with his thumb, thinking about it for a bit before he wrinkled his nose, "Besides, I dont think that father would settle with a small loan. He'd end up buying the whole thing for us," he said like he knew. He scoffed and looked at the sky before he made a little annoyed groan, "I dont want to rely on our father, but on the other hand I just want to be with you," he said in a conflicted tone as he made a small smile that was just as conflicted as his tone.
As soon as she mentioned her aunt talking about his life before parenthood, he felt himself freeze for just a second as he stared into the fabric of her clothes. He blinked a few times as he made a deep exhale. She had every right to be curious, so it wasnt that he was angry at her for asking about it. Her addition made him feel a little shameful as he pulled his face away from her, lifting his hands to grab hers and guide her to sit down next to him. He looked at their hands as he felt like his throat had become a lot drier, which made him swallow to get some moisture. He looked up at her with a small frown as he entangled his fingers with hers, "She knows about my past..." he said with a gloomy tone as he ran his thumb over hers, his eyes a little distant as his frown deepened on his brow. "I was quite horrible back then, before my soul merged with the artifact. I couldnt control the evil power that resided in the amulet, so my soul became tainted with cruelty and a hunger for power," he explained in a sort of dark tone as he just looked at their hands, clearly not feeling proud of what he once was. "I aided my father in the destruction of villages, filling hell with fresh souls so he could make his demons," he said as he felt a bitter taste in his mouth. He hadnt really spoken to his father of free will since he merged with the artifact, so to suddenly do so on this day made him feel odd in a way. "I killed a lot of innocent people because the artifact told me to. And to this day, it still craves that power, the chaos that ruined lives and tore villages apart to the very last stone," he said in a tormented tone as he looked up at her with worried eyes, because he did worry. Worry that she thought he had fooled her all this time by keeping his past a secret. He moved his eyes away in case she did. "I know it's far from the person I told you I was when we met. I cant run from what I've done, but I vowed to keep the mortals safe to my best ability, in the hopes that some day I'll have made some sort of ammends for my crimes," he then said, looking down at the floorboards, holding her hands a little tightly.
Jake liked sitting here with Nessa, eating pizza and just not think about the heavy topics that they had cracked open not even an hour ago. This seemed far more simple, even relaxing. He nodded as she said they should save a slice, agreeing that it was probably the wisest. He noticed her rub her arms, smiling a little curiously as he didnt exactly find it that cold in here. But with his body temperature, it would be a wonder or a bad omen if he ever were to freeze. He let her move closer to him, wrapping his arm around her to stroke some heat into her pale arms. He finished his slice with his free hand, licking his lips to remove any residue that might had stuck. He looked down at her, nodding at her words, "I'm pretty sure I saw a balcony earlier. Let's get some blankets and watch the stars then," he said as her hand moved up to remove some leftovers that he had forgotten. He smiled a bit at her as he leaned down to nuzzle his nose against hers, right before he would let her move so they could get the stuff they needed. After making sure that the blanket was thick enough to keep her warm, he went to the balcony door. He opened it to lead her out, placing the blanket around her shoulders. He closed the door before sitting down on the bench, just to pull her into his arms, making sure she'd stay warm in the cold. "Do you know any constellations?" he asked her. |

| Dinah liked that he saw what made her happy, and of course he did, because she saw what made him happy. However she wouldn’t mind giving up something that made her happy in exchange for something that would make her even more happy. Not having to hide, having a place where the two of them could do whatever they wanted, decorate it to their wishes and live as they pleased. ”Even if he ended up buying it, we would have to pay him back; he owes me quite a lot in babysitting money from handling Nessa,” she chuckled in a teasing tone. She could understand where Eaden was coming from, she didn’t want to use their father’s money to have a place for themselves, but they could make it work. ”We could work out a plan to pay him back, that way we would be paying off what we owe, right?” she said with a pondering expression. She leaned up, placing a sweet kiss on his cheek, smiling at him. ”It doesn’t have to be expensive or big – If we only had one room I would love it,” she said.
Buffy noticed his mood changing, saw how his eyes seemed full of remorse. It almost hurt seeing him like this, but she moved with him, sitting down by his side and letting him hold her hand as he spoke. She felt a little taken aback by his words, mostly because she couldn’t imagine the kind hearted demon be a stone cold killer. Not wanting to interrupt him opening up, she just sat still, feeling his hands on her hands as if he was trying to calm her. She wasn’t angry or disgusted. If anything it had proven how much someone could change and turn their life around. Of course she didn’t like thinking of the innocent lives that he had taken, but could she be the one to judge him for his past? He looked down as he finished speaking, and she shook her head, placing her hand over his cheek to move his face back to face her. ”My feelings won’t change because of what has happened long before me,” she said in a gentle tone. Perhaps it had been better to know everything before they had this family together, but she didn’t feel lied to or betrayed. Mostly she felt sad that he had not confided in her with his past. ”Belial, I am not the one who can forgive you for whatever you have done in the past, but I know the loving man that is sitting next to me,” she said, looking in to his eyes if he let her. She exhaled, stroking his cheek with her thumb as she just looked at his face. ”I love you, I have accepted your past before knowing it fully, and seeing how you mourn everything proves me that I am loving the one that deserves it,” she said, placing a soft kiss over his lips. It was brief but she just wanted him to have the comfort if he let her. ”I see how you are with Dinah and Eaden, I see how you are with Nessa and fatherhood have changed you for the better,” she said looking at him with saddened eyes. Buffy had felt brainwashed when she took the distance to her family. Their values and words still lingering deep within her, but she couldn’t see Baal as anyone but who she had experienced. The only time he had hurt her physically had been when she had aggravated his demon, but even then he had apologised. She knew that it hadn’t been healthy to forgive him that easily, but on the other hand she had felt guilty for pressuring him to such a degree. Never had he touched Nessa, only to give her the fatherly love that she deserved. “I don’t see you as what you have been, I see you as you are now and who you will become when our family will start growing,” she said in a gentle tone. She could partly understand the internalised struggle he felt, but she also couldn’t imagine how his life had been.
Jake was always warm, he was like the warmth of a summer day, filling her body with heat and her heart with rest. When she sat with him like this, all she thought about was him. How simple their lives could’ve been if not for the lamb and the wolf. She was happy that he wanted to watch the stars as well, nodding as they both got up. Outside it was a bit chilly, however sitting close to Jake under some blankets didn’t seem like it was autumn. Her blue eyes looked to the sky, wondering if the stars above was looking at them the way she was at them. Under the blanket she entangled their fingers, not really knowing why she felt the need for his closeness besides loving him. “I don’t know a lot of them, but Dinah and dad have told me a lot,” she said, keeping her eyes at the sky. “I know Orion’s Belt and there’s that other one,” she said, but she didn’t really know where they were placed. She leaned her cheek against Jake’s shoulder, looking up at him now instead of the sky. “I like this, it’s so simple yet it feels like it has so much more meaning,” she said with a faint smile on her lips. Right now she just wanted to be the girl Nessa, sitting under the star with the boy Jake. |

| Eaden liked the sound of that, not having to owe their father anything, not money or some sort of gratitude if he were to buy the house for them - It would be a simple loan and Eaden wasnt going to be obligated to repay with kindness or whatever his father would want for his gesture. He felt his frustrations dimminish as she spoke - Her addition about the babysitting made him chuckle as he looked at her. "He better pay you good for your work," he said with his corner of his mouth lifted to a crooked smirk, even though as he knew his father, there definitely wouldnt be much to worry about on that front. Like Dinah had lost any of the shine that she seemed to bear in his eyes. He nodded at her ponder and gave it a little thought - Maybe it was better to be thinking about these things after a good nights sleep. Her kiss made him exhale through his nose with content as her words filled his mind with small dream scenarios. "A one-room apartment furbished with cozy furniture?" he asked as he looked down at her. He wet his lips, biting down softly on his lower lip as he kept thinking of the possibilities. "We could search up some apartments and see if there is any cheap ones that we'd like," he said before he looked at her, rubbing her arm gently with his hand to make sure she wouldnt get cold as they walked.
He was gonna keep looking away but she wasnt letting him, pulling at his face to make him look at her. He looked at her with vulnerable eyes as he felt like opening about the monster that he had once been, just made him feel like he could easily slip into those bad habits. Her words were comforting, but he knew he should have mentioned it before someone else were to drag it into the light. It wasnt that he was trying to hide it, he just hadnt given it that much of a thought since she had come into his life, making him think of other stuff that pondering on the happenings of the past. He knew she couldnt bring him the forgiveness he sought, but her next words made him feel like he had succeeded in straying from the monster the artifact was trying to make him. He looked into her eyes as she looked at his, placing his hand over hers at the stroke of his cheek. He felt his eyes water as she spoke, blinking a few times as he just listened to her. He returned the kiss with a neediness from his own, craving comfort like crazy. It wasnt that he hadnt had his struggling with the artifact, even to this day, he was still in a everlasting struggle between resisting the temptation or give in. It was just easier with Buffy and the family they had formed together, reminding him that it wasnt worth destroying for the satisfaction of being let alone by the amulet in his body. But he wasnt sure of how he had ever become deserving of the love that Boadicea seemed to give him, all he could hope was that his love would be enough for her as well. She may have thought that she could be someone that he had once loved, but he was bearing those very same fears towards her. He looked down at her last words as he took in a deep breath, holding her hand on his cheek, "I dont know how long I can keep winning these fights with the amulet in my body," he said as he made a quiet gulp. "I just know the burden feels lighter when I'm with you, and our family," he said as he moved her hand from his cheek, to place a soft kiss on the back of it. He looked at the ring on her finger and touched it gently, as he was clearly thinking about something with his expression being ponderous. "Even though my past is what it is, I do hope to become your husband one day and be by your side for as long as you let me," he said before he looked at her. He sighed and let go of her hand.
He gave her hand a soft squeeze as their fingers were entangled, looking at her with a soft smile as he watched her look at the sky. He could have sworn that the light of the night sky was making her shine, or maybe he was just captivated by her beauty in the right moment. He turned his eyes to the sky as she spoke of the one she knew and that other one that he would guess to be either cassiopeia or the plough - As everyone knew how and where to find the plough on the sky. He moved his eyes around the sky as he felt her eyes on him, looking down at her with a hint of a smile on his lips from the simple joy of sitting out here to look at stars. "I like it too Nessa," he agreed with her. He looked up at the sky, sighing deeply with content, "My dad told me that this was how date's used to be in his time. Looking at the stars, no devices or disturbances. Just stargazing and living in the moment," he explained with a soft spoken tone as he moved his eyes down to meet hers again. "But I dont really know any stars," he said with a small shrug before he looked up at the sky again. He didnt have to know any stars to look at them, couldnt he just make up his own constellations? He pointed after a bit and moved so his finger would work as an arrow, drawing an outline of a bunch of stars shaped in a heart, "Do you see that?" he asked as he narrowed his eyes to make sure he wasnt just making things up. |

| Dinah chuckled at her comment, but she was sure her father was not going to withhold any payment. She hadn’t really asked for any money, she did it more of free will than anything. Spending time with Nessa was like helping herself in a way, mending the hurt she had gone through as a young girl. The insecure part of herself was mostly gone, replaced with love and it had all started with Eaden finally giving in to her back in the day. Just the thought of it made her core tingle a bit as she felt a rush of blood to her cheeks for even thinking that way. ”I would like anything if I knew I could wake up to you every day,” she said in a truthful tone, looking at the way he wet his lips. What was he thinking about? She felt herself blush a bit more, nodding at his suggestion before looking on ahead. Why did she feel so shy all of a sudden? This was Eaden, her brother, her love, they knew everything about each other, so why did she feel so nervous. His hand warmed her arm up, making her smile as she bit her lower lip. ”I feel like I can’t wait,” she chuckled under her breath, feeling like this was exciting in some way. It was really just a place for them to live, but it would be different. Living together, sleeping together, eating together. It was mundane and boring to some, but the prospect of them spending more time together made her happy. Of course she liked going to the academy, having learned so much already about this world, but without Eaden she wouldn’t enjoy it as much. ”I’ve decided I really want that massage,” she said after a while, looking up at him with tender eyes gleaming in the moonlight. ”Afterwards I just want to lay with you, because the both of us need to relax and get some good sleep,” she said. She wanted to feel his hands on her body, wanted to feel him close and know that things would work out. She still had a certain amount of sadness in her heart from seeing their mother, from feeling those angry feelings and from seeing Nessa like she had.
Buffy could feel how he craved her close, needing the comfort she could provide him with, but she wanted to finish speaking. She wanted this conversation to end on a happy note, and giving in to his lips wouldn’t be what was nescessary to help them along with that. He spoke again, his words seeming like a doom was above their heads, but his addition made her smile at him. He took her hand from his cheek, kissing it and inspecting it, and she felt her heart at ease for a moment. His words following made her heart beat faster, her body moving closer to him as he let go of her hand. She leaned her face closer to his, letting her lips hover above his as she felt her heart beat faster just by being close to him. ”I want you by my side until the earth unravels and the sky falls – and even after that,” she whispered softly, finally placing her lips against his. She didn’t want to push him too far, knowing he still had healing to do, but just as he craved her comfort, she craved the love he gave her. Buffy’s lips moved gently against his, like she was afraid to hurt him in the state he was in. That was until she felt her stomach rumble, breaking their lips apart in a bit of a surprise as she sighed against his lips. ”I should get something to eat; drink your vial; when I come back I’ll help you with getting ready for the night,” she said in a caring voice. She opened her eyes, her green colored ones searching his for a while before she placed a light kiss on his cheek and moved to her feet. She didn’t know if there was even any pizza left, knowing about the hunger that could reside in a werewolf, but moving in to the living room she couldn’t help but smile. A single slice was left for her, she could see that, and she picked it up, taking a bite as she started to clean up the apartment. It didn’t take long, but she managed to eat her slice while she was at it. Then she moved to the bathroom, sighing as she looked at herself. It was so obvious to her that she had been crying, her hair seemed to have a life of it’s own, and she felt a little disgusted with the pizza breath she now had. She took a deep breath as if to prepare herself for the rutine she was about to parttake in. She started with brushing her teeth, looking herself in the mirror with tired eyes, but she just kept brushing until the taste disappeared. Then she moved on, brushing her hair and setting it up in a loose bun to keep it out of her face. When all that was done she got undressed, slipping in to one of her nightly outfits; a pair of short shorts and a large t-shirt, then moving to the bedroom. She looked at her fiancé in the dark, feeling like she wanted to protect him, even if she knew it to be almost impossible. If she could, she would have shared the burden of the amulet in his chest. Moving closer she placed a kiss on his bare chest, feeling her heart rate go crazy once more. ”You need rest my love,” she said, looking up at him.
Nessa felt her cheeks hurting from smiling so much. It was like he could just draw it out of her, even when he wasn’t saying anything. Hearing about his father’s time made her sigh, chuckling a bit to herself as he spoke of it. He turned his gaze down to her, and she shrugged at the notion he didn’t know any. To her it didn’t matter, because she barely knew any stars herself. She giggled a bit, looking at the sky once more. ”It is hard knowing all of the stars, but I bet my father knows them all; However, not knowing them, means you can get to make up your own names for them, and that’s way more fun,” she said, nuzzling her head against his shoulder, feeling his warmth spread in her body. As he pointed she followed his finger’s movement, widening her eyes as she could see it, nodding in excitement. ”I do,” she said smiling at the stars he had just pointed out. She felt herself relax, sitting here was a bit cold, but with Jake it wasn’t too bad. She snuggled up to him, placing his arm around her as to warm her more, feeling so content in this moment. ”Do you ever plan on going back?” she asked, knowing it might come out of left field, but she was actually just curious. She knew he wasn’t from this time, but they had never really spoken about it, beside him saying it wasn’t the best.
