Iconic duo

In the massive storm of thoughts and emotions, one voice could break through. Maybe it was because Levi helped her the first time she lost control, and had been helping her times before as well. Maya didn't have a family that looked after her like that. Simon was everywhere but close by, and Tidus - what the hell was he up to. The hand on her shoulder made her breathe out almost like she was defeated. Maya closed her eyes even harder, feeling the tears just running out to get away. She took a deep breath in, and almost had a hard time letting herself breathe out again - but eventually she let the air slip out between her lips. Maya tried to focus on something good, and ended up taking herself back to fighting lessons with Simon in the woods in what seemed like ages ago - which it was. She felt her abilities just loosing up a bit and forced herself up to standing. Maya opened her eyes and looked at the damged she had done. New tears ran down her cheeks, she wasn't usually the type of person to cry -but right now it was all she felt like doing. Maya was so angry at herself for losing control. She turned around and looked up at Levi.
"I'm sorry.. I failed." She just leaned in and wrapped her arms around Levi. Just needing to cry a little. Despite it all, Maya was relieved that Levi had been quick enough to stop her. Ricky was still alive. Or she hoped he was okay. Maya loosened the grip of Levis shirt a little bit, but was still holding on to it. She turned her devastated blue eyes over to Ricky, looking at the blood still running from his head. "I'm so sorry Ric.. I didn't.. I didn't mean to."

Ricky barely registered the other presence. Not until he felt something that made it a little easier for him to breathe. He was still gasping for air.
Finally he was able to breathe. He coughed violently until his breathing were back to normal. He stayed on the ground a while before he finally sat up. He was not angry at Maya, rather he blamed himself for pushing her to this. ”It’s okay,” he said hoarsely. His gaze moved to Leviticus. ”Sir,” he said still with a raspy voice. He was used to addressing people this way. Every teacher was called sir or ma’am. That was practically the only thing his father had taught him. Everything else was his mother’s influence. ”I am to blame for this,” he added. He didn’t know the principal all the well, but if was one who punished students for using magic or abilities at the school, he didn’t want Maya to be blamed.

Maya let go of Levi right before he walked over to Ricky. She softly wrapped her arms around herself. Even if she stopped, she still started something that caused a lot of damged, and it could have ended most worst. Maya wanted to run away from the situation, but she couldn't - even if she did, where would she run to? Maya looked at them, and gave Levi a little nod when he said he wanted to see them both later. Maya was a girl who followed her own rules, and some teachers might find her unreasonable and way to much of a handful. However she always respected Levi and right now - he was all she got. Maya looked at Ricky, and even through he said he didn't blame her it didn't matter as long as she blamed herself. She knew she couldn't handle it, and she did it anyway.
"Come on Ricky boy, lets get you stitched up," she tried to say in her most Maya-ish way with a little sad smile. The young shapeshifter took a deep breath in before taking the first few steps in the direction of the infirmary.

Ricky was feeling a little lightheaded and didn’t hear what the two were saying. Not until Leviticus moved toward him. He held his hand against the fabric to stop the bleeding as good he could. He swallowed when he and Maya were both asked to come to his office after visiting the infirmary. He was a little nervous what the consequences would be. He had been in trouble before and being sent to the office rarely meant something good. Although Leviticus did sound calm, he was not convinced they weren’t going to get in trouble.
He looked at Maya when she suggested they got him stitched up. ”Ricky boy,” he just said with a soft scoff. He went into the infirmary with Maya. Both got attention right away by two different women. Ricky was not planning on saying anything that had happened. He didn’t want Maya to be in trouble. He just used the age-old excuse; he walked into a door. Really hard. She gave him a few stitches, but luckily without removing any of his hair. He honestly couldn’t handle that on top of everything. When he was done, he looked towards Maya. ”Ready to go?” He just wanted to get it all over with.

Maya wasn't hurt by the outburst of her abilities the way that Ricky was. She maybe had a few scratches on her knees from the wall to the ground, and on her arms from a few sticks. But it wasn't anything she payed much attention to it. Her scratches were despite it cleaned and looked at. After she sat in the waiting room and waited for Ricky to be done.
"Almost," she said and lifted a hand up, "There is something I need to get first," she grabbed Rickys hand before heading to the cafeteria. Maya removed her hand from his before walking over to the fridge to get a platter of cut pineapples. She walked back to Ricky. "What?" She looked confused at Ricky before taking the lead to walk over to the office. Maya knocked a little before using her elbow to open the door.
"Heeeey we are back," she said with a little innocent smile. Maya was effected by the harm she had cost her friend, but growing up in the military - it was about pushing on. Her adoptive parents had been all about that. Maya put the platter on his desk and grabbed a keyring from her back pocket. It was a pineapple with the words: Best headmaster.  
Then she sat down on one of the chairs and breathed a little out just looking at Levi.

Ricky furrowed his brows when she said she had to get something first. He followed her hand in hand to the cafeteria. The cafeteria? He stood back when she was getting pineapples. What was happening right now? She was collecting pineapple before she was going to, most likely, get a punishment. He was confused, so her what was warranted. ”I’m not even going to ask,” he just set and followed her to the office. He looked at the keychain Maya got up from her pocket, after placing the pineapple in front of Leviticus. Did he have pineapple as a weakness or something?
He sat down when Leviticus asked him to. He was not that nervous. He was used to getting in trouble, so unless he was being expelled, he was fine with it. He suddenly understood why Maya had gotten the pineapple things. Bribery and flattery. Should he take it personally that he addressed Maya by the first name and himself in a more formal matter. Or maybe it was because his relationship with Maya were more profound than just headmaster and student. ”We will get right on it,” he promised and stood up. He was not happy about having to pay for the damages, as he barely had any money to himself from his job at the cinema, but it was only fair. He took the paper and threw a quick glance at it, before folding it two times and putting it away in his pocket. ”Will detention start from this Monday?” He just wanted to be sure when the real punishment started. He could handle cleaning – something happened. The worst punishment for him was when nothing happened, when he was forced to be bored for a while. He absolutely hated to be bored.

"For the lord of pineapples," she mumbled to herself. Maya was way to good at cursing, but Levi had corrected her way to many times to do it around him - so she had made up her own little sayings when she was cursing around him. Maya widened her eyes when he said they would have a month detention.
"A month?" she blinked a bit blankly. "Is this because of the thing in Chemistry? Because I promise you, Ramiel.. I mean mr. West really need to put some labels on those chemicals," she added, an possibly outed herself a little. Maya took the list and made a little face by all of it, but by reading it she had already memorized it. Maya had never cared much about her grades, it was first after she had been in Ramsays care, that her brain had worked to her grades linking.
"Fiine, we will get on with it," she said, sounded a little more like a dissatisfied teenage daughter that disgagred with her father, than an actual student. She looked over at Ricky as he asked when detention started from.

Was Maya in family with him or something? It almost seemed like it, the way he spoke of and to him. Not to mention the other teachers. He didn’t know anyone personally like that. To him they were all just authority figures. He slowly lowered himself back into the chair when he was asked to. He just wanted to get at it as quick as possible, but that apparently wasn’t good enough. He didn’t make any remarks to show his confusion and slight arrogance about how it was handled. He would never have gotten away with talking to a teacher like Maya did. He had to ask her what her secret was when they were alone.
Okay, attention from the first day of school. Neat. He had some time to figure out how to use the time in detention practically then. He just nodded when he ‘urged’ them to clean up the mess they had made. Who even used the word urged anymore? ”Thank you sir,” he said and stood up after making sure he was allowed to leave. He looked at Maya when they were alone again. ”You like playing with fire, don’t you?” He still believed he would be punished even worse when if he communicated with a staff member like that. Even the janitor would probably give him detention if he disrespected them.

"I'm sorry," she whispered to Levi before leaving the room. She knew she was quick to talking way over the line, and especially when she trusted people. Maya trusted Levi, which was beyond the only reason she was so loose when he was around. then there was Ramiel, but he was also quite nice - other teachers who were more strict in the way they taught lessons reminded her of her time at the military - which made her either annoyed or silent. Maybe it was the act of freedom the last few years, that made her feel like she just needed to do what ever she wanted. She walked out and closed the door behind her.
"Nah, fire isn't really my thing.. but I like playing with earthquakes," she teased back a little with a small smile. "Shaking things up a bit," a little cheeky half smirk lifted up on her face.
"I'm still sorry for the events of the day.. I might have a friend we can call for a little help with the garden," she suggested and walked towards it. She looked around before taking her phone up. "Aaron is most likely just being bored anyways," she added with a convincing smile. She texted him about the event and if he wanted to hang out - maybe pitch a little in. Not that he needed to, however it was also an excuse to see him again.

Ricky made a sound that was somewhere between a scoff and a chuckle. ”Oh, that’s funny.” He said slightly sarcastic. He walked towards the garden with her, wondering who this friend was who could help. ”Yeah, okay.” He didn’t understood why anyone would want to help with something as boring as cleaning up, but to each their own. He watched her as she sent the text. ”Friend, huh?” He was not completely convinced that was all he was to her, but maybe he put too much into the situation. As they waited for this Aaron, he went away to find some garbage bags they could gather the things in.

Aaron was just playing some guitar when he got the text. He didn’t notice it a first, before he accidentally pushed the phone to the floor and now noticed the blinking light. He put his guitar away and checked the message. He smiled shortly before going. He was not dressed very impressively. Then again, he rarely was. He left the room and went to the garden to meet up with Maya to help her. He had nothing better to do, and this way he got to spend some time with her. He liked her, she was funny and nice and so strong. ”Hi,” he said with a large smile. ”I’m here for my duty,” he said and made a fake salute; probably a bad one too. He frowned slightly went another boy with too big hair came to join them.

”Thanks for the help,” Ricky said and handed Aaron a plastic bag. He began moving around the garden to pick up the mess. He was curious what had happened, but he would probably just ask Maya when they were alone at some point.

It was weird for her to place Aaron time to time, not because of there was any complications with him. It was with her. Finding herself with these new abilities and life. Going back to the Red Warriors was an option. But she didn't want to just live to fight, and that was the way Tatia lived. Maya wanted more. However the second Aaron showed up, a huge smile appeared on her face.
"Hey," she walked over to him and shook her head when he made a fake salute. Then she walked over and hugged him.
"Ricky this is Aaron.. Aaron this is Ricky," she looked at both of them. Maya was a lot shorter than both of them, but she had accepted her height a long time ago, so she didn't mind. Mayas head was tired but however she didn't want to give up now. She wanted to sleep, but also knew if she fell asleep now - she would be sleep the next twelve hours if not more.

Aaron put his arm around Maya in a gentle embrace. His smile simmered down a little when she introduced him to Ricky. She was not jealous, not really. He was just afraid he was too ordinary for Maya and she would prefer someone more interesting. Then again, Ricky was human. There was nothing much more ordinary than that. ”Nice to meet you,” he said with a slight smile. He looked back at Maya who didn’t look her best. Ricky too seemed to have suffered some injuries. ”It’s okay Maya, you can sit down a while. I’ll take care of it,” he said and turned to Ricky. ”You too.” He grabbed a plastic bag and began picking things up. He would be okay with cleaning up while they just focused on getting better.

Ricky gave Aaron a short nod when Maya introduced them. ”You too,” he said with a short smile. He turned to Maya when Aaron started to clean up. ”We can’t just let him do it alone, can we?” He was not happy about letting someone else clean up his mess, but he was feeling a little dizzy, so maybe it would be best if he took it slow.

It was typical for Aaron to pitch in and take over the job. However she didn't just want him to clean up her mess. It was her who had lost control, not Aaron or Ricky. Maya took a deep breath in, but didn't move to sit down. Aaron asked Ricky to join her, and of course they both agreed Aaron shouldn't be doing this by himself or for them. "We can," she sighed, "but we won't," she added before taking a hairtie up from her pocket to put her long blond hair into a ponytail. "I can relax when we are done. It will be done faster if we work together. I'm not gonna slack this," she added and scratched shortly behind her ear before starting moving some of the larger pieces from the trees and rocks.
"Who knew my mind could make a mess like this," she mumbled to herself in a sigh.

Aaron didn’t mind doing it all. They were hurt, so he thought it was better if they rested. But of course, Maya wasn’t going to let him. He continued to pick up things and putting them into bags but was a little more careful with the broken things. He was in no rush to draw blood. He wished he had an ability that could help work through it quicker. He just had the ability to jump high and feel what others did. He made sure to never do so against people’s will, but sometimes an emotion was too strong for him to ignore it. From Ricky he just felt confusion, over what Aaron wasn’t sure. Maya was too tough to read. He had learned it was impossible for him to do so even if he tried, so he doesn’t.

Ricky agreed with Maya and started to clean up. He mostly just stayed in his own thoughts. He was a pretty straight forward guy and liked things to be that way as well. Lately, they haven’t been. He had enjoyed spending time with Ash, but he had no idea what she needed or wanted him to be. He mostly rolled with it, but he knew at some point, he would need some clarification. He needed to know what could and couldn’t happen. Friends were always nice to have, so he would be okay with being just that with her. When Maya posed a question, both Ricky and Aaron raised their hands. Ricky looked at Maya with a smirk. ”Two against one,” he said, a playful look in his eyes.

She hated this. Being this out of control, however she had to learn how to use her powers.
"Oh thank you guys," she rolled her eyes in a tease as they reacted to her question. Maya took a deep breath in. If she isolated them and didn't use them, she knew it wouldn't be better - it would get worse.
"Lets get started then," she dared with a smirk on her lips. She was still a bit dizzy from the use of her powers, but she knew it was mostly because she hadn't listened to herself. She focused on a few objects and moved them to the bin. Maya took it pretty easy, and walked over to a tree. She closed her eyes and focused on getting it back in its original shape. Maya was much better using her abilities on her terms than when people wanted to see them. And she learned pretty quick what not to do. Maya clapped her hands a little and turned to the boys.
"How is it going?" She asked mostly just to them cleaning up.
