The lamb and the wolf

As the wolf had taken off with the miracle girl, it's steps were long and fast, like it was leaping instead of running. Despite never having someone on it's back before, it knew how to move it's body in the fast movements to not just sling off the passenger. Smalls growls and snarls escaped it's jaws as it barked at anyone in it's way, though it didnt matter to it if they werent out of it's way in time, tearing up a line in the street as it pleased. Soon the city shortened out and the place it was going was the only one it knew. The safe haven. As soon as it got to the place, it turned it's head to the side, watching the girl with one eye as it barred it's teeth, a slight foam from the exhaustion in the corner of it's mouth. It couldnt understand why it felt this need to keep her safe, it didnt understand why it could suddenly differentiate in good or bad. It let out a threatning bark at her, but was unable to reach her if it wanted to act out on the threat, though it was never an option.
Instead it just did what it could, barking in frustration as it circled around, the silver side eye never leaving the girl's face.

Nessa held on tight, pressing her body against the warm fur like it was all she had done for her whole excistence. And it almost was. As they got into the clearing she got off the wolf, her blue eyes looking at the silver with a certain wonder behind them. She could hardly speak herself, only knowing the words that seemed to appear at random from some far off memory. It circled her, but all she could do was chuckle as she looked at the giant beast. Before she moved closer to the wolf, stroking his fur to calm him down. ”Nessa,” she said, almost in a bark back to him and smiled big. She nuzzled her nose against his wet and let out a sweet giggle. *Hello wolf,* her sweet voice rang in his head as she looked at him. She giggled a bit to herself once more, before she sat down in the grass. She looked around, so much wonder as she noticed all of the small details. *Speak, I can hear,* she said in his head.

*I can’t read your thoughts, don’t worry my wolf,* her voice sounded as she sat in the ground. She didn’t even look at the wolf as her eyes drifted around to look at this place. She heard the other voice and her blue eyes had shifted to green because she was using one of her abilities. *Eaden is alive, you have no sin on your soul my wolf,* her sweet voice told the beast. Her hand moved down and touched the grass. *Something in me remembers this speech, remember the feeling of grass underneath my body, yet I this is my first day alive,* her voice told the wolf as her eyes looked at the grass. She got to her feet, stumbling a bit as she was still trying to get used to it. She popped her head to the side before she puffed herself up to her toes and moved her arms out as if she was trying to appear bigger than she was. She breathed out a small chuckle before she fell down to the soles of her bare feet. *I feel like I know you,* her voice sounded as she smiled at him.

She said she couldnt read minds but the wolf didnt believe her. It could just be a ruse, a trick to make it feel some sort of false safety. It was a cautious being, lest knowing that she could talk to it in it's mind, the paranoia from being read like an open book was there. The wolf shook it's head as she said Eaden was alive, "Even so, he still died first," Jake replied in a sorrowful tone. The beast sat down as it watched her move her hand in the grass, listening to her words. It didnt understand what she meant, it didnt really make sense at all.
It barred it's teeth as she got to her feet, but it didnt move. It just observed her, puffing herself to something bigger than she was. It made a sharp exhale like it was snorting. "You're telling lies," the wolf snared, tilting it's head as it was trying to figure out what she meant. "Know me?" Jake asked as the wolf just stared at her. "We've never met," Jake added, sounding fairly confused. The wolf turned it's head, "Must kill the evil beings," the wolf suddenly said as it pushed itself to it's feet. "Dont let me go there," Jake begged.

*Not one without the other,* her voice answered. It was true. There was no life without death and not one thing without the counterpart. As the wolf said she was lying she couldn’t help but chuckle and she shook her head, however the other voice sounded again and she nodded. *Never met you, that is true, but I still have this feeling,* her voice replied. Then the wolf moved again to it’s feet, talking about killing evil beings and she walked to the wolf and wrapped her arms around it’s neck. *Evil is as evil does – would killing someone not make you just as evil as those you kill?* she asked gently and hid her face in the wolf’s fur. She felt safe here. Even if the wolf snarled at her, she felt safe and happy, like she just knew that it wouldn’t hurt her. *I want to know how you look like,* her voice said. She knew this wasn’t his only form, she could sense something in him.

"Well from what I know, I'm now this holy creature ready to fight the good fight," Jake said in a confused tone. The wolf wasnt very happy as she wrapped her arms around it's neck, growling softly with it's ears lowered. Small snorts of annoyance leaving it's snout at her question. "I was made for this. God has called for me to remove the evil beings of this world, leaving his creation to safety," it replied in a husky tone as it slowly tried to waggle out of her arms, though it was to no avail. The beast puffed and accepted that she just wasnt going to let go. Jake made a sigh at her words, "It wont let me," he said a bit frustrated, the dog moving it's head to look at her with one eye. "You'll have to convince it," Jake then added, sounding pretty defeated.
The wolf moved it's head away and looked out on the water, lifting it's ears to listen to the small vibrations from the wind that moved along the surface of the water. "We're not connected yet. Not since the change happened," Jake explained.

Nessa kept on holding on to the wolf’s neck as it tried moving out of her embrace. She nuzzled her head against the soft fur, sighing at the sensation and smell of him. *You have to connect with it,* she replied, smiling at the eye that looked so intently at her. Nessa moved her hands up to the wolf’s head, scratching it behind it’s ears and looking at the big silver eye staring at her. *I think my name is Nessa – what’s yours?* she asked. One of her hands moved down, touching the snout of the wolf, stroking it back and forth to calm the animal. She didn’t know if it would work, but she didn’t know much at this point. Her eyes followed the wolf’s, watching the water with wonder in her eye again. It was weird. This whole world seemed so big and magical.

"Connect with it?" Jake asked but he knew what she meant. It just wasnt that easy, seeing that the wolf was all on it's determination to rid the world of evil, which Jake wasnt sure if he wanted. The wolf seemed more calm at her touch, but it's nose still twitched with caution. It kept it's eyes on her as she moved her other hand, sighing deeply as it moved it's eyes ahead. "Jacob Grimm," Jake replied the wolf tilted it's head as it heard Jake's introduction. "One who doesnt acknowledge his calling, deserves no control," it hissed in it's mind as it watched the water. "I dont even know what the calling is!" Jake sounded pretty frustrated as the wolf snarled. "Then you shall not assume to control us," it said. It looked to Nessa and made a short puff, "What thoughts do you have on this?"

Nessa could hear both sides of the story. She felt pity for the wolf, knowing nothing but to eliminate and follow it’s target, yet she felt for Jacob as well. She was a bit surprised to be asked about her opinion, but she felt like she just had to tell the truth. *I think you both need to remember you are not two people; you are one and the same,* her voice said with a gentle tone to it, as she scratched the wolf behind it’s ears. *Have you tried listening to yourself?* she asked innocently. She knew nothing bad nor good. She just knew what she saw right now, and she knew that she knew this wolf in some way she couldn’t explain. *You need to know what your calling is to understand it, right?* she asked with a smile on her pale lips.

"We may be the same, but I am different. I bear the knowledge of Angus Grimm, the first werewolf to ever tread ground on this earth," the wolf said. Jake made a frustrated noise. "Get out of here with that bullshit," he told the wolf and the wolf barred it's teeth in anger. It didnt answer him but it was clear that it wasnt happy with his snappy attitude. Jake had tried to listen to it, try to understand, but it was way too much of a burden to put on the shoulders of an 18 year old kid that spend most days in his parents' past.
"I am not some fighter for the holy war," he said in a frustrated tone as he sighed, "I'm just a normal kid trying to make his parents proud," he added, seeming a bit more calm, yet somehow defeated. The wolf scoffed and made an angry sneeze, "God made us who we are," - "Why should I be concerned with something that happened over a thousand years ago? I'm 18," - "You were chosen," - "What if I dont want to be chosen?" Jake hissed. The wolf snarled and looked to Nessa. "He will never understand his purpose. He is too young and too stubborn to let me become a part of him, fearing that he will change," the wolf told her before it looked up at the crowns of the trees.

Nessa listened, because right now that was all she could do. Everything in this world was still so new, yet she felt like she knew everything already. The wolf and Jacob started their conversation, but it was clear that both sides didn’t want to come to an agreement easily. She wanted to comfort in this, but maybe that was not what the situation called for. She was lucky to be able to see both sides like she could, the wolf spoke to her as it looked at her. *He doesn’t need to understand yet, young and stubborn is good as well,* she argued and kept her eyes on the wolf. She let go of it, taking a step back to look at it. *He just need to accept that none of us ever get a choice sometimes,* she added in a rather sad tone. She placed a hand over her heart, it beating so strongly made her eyebrows furrow. Why was her heart beating so intensely and what was this feeling that warmed her down to her toes? *I feel dizzy,* she remarked as she felt her stomach rumble. Everything seemed to hit at once, as she felt so overwhelmed by what her human body needed.

"Young and stubborn will aid no good to our purpose," the wolf hissed as it looked at her after her addition. It flared it's nostrils in confusion as she placed her hand over her chest, seeming to be affected by something. The wolf stood as she spoke pressing it's snout onto her shoulder as it then looked at her, "Mount," it commanded, not ready to take a no for a no. It lowered it's body to let her get on before it started walking towards the mansion. Jake sighed deeply, "You heard her stomach, she's hungry," he said, the wolf sneezed in annoyance and growled. "We will find something for her to eat," - "At the mansion?" - "Yes." - "My dad is gonna kill me," Jake said in a frustrated tone, if he could slap his forehead, he would have. The wolf barred it's teeth as it arrived at the mansion, Kyle looking down at them with confusion before he looked at Jake. "Everything alright?" he asked, as the wolf just stared at him with his silvery eyes. Kyle got up from the lawn chair and frowned a bit at Jake before he stepped down to them. As the wolf stepped back, Kyle walked faster, grabbing the fur on top of the wolf's head as he forced the beast to look at him, his deep sea blue eyes was replaced by a silvery glow as he stared into the beast's, "Calm down," he ordered in a calm tone as the beast seemed to react to the order, barring it's teeth, which made Kyle fasten his grip on the fur, "Jake, stop this," Kyle demanded, his eyes glowing more intensive now. The beast let out a angry snarl but eventually calmed down. Kyle looked up at the girl, confusion written all over his face. "Why is he turned?" he asked her, seeming quite worried now as his eyes slowly turned back to his regular blue.

Nessa knew what the wolf meant with his words, but could he not see the advantage of having a certain amount of youth to it? As she said she felt dizzy, she quickly felt it’s snout against her shoulder and she followed it’s demand with little question. They moved towards a big building, and she spotted the male werewolf running to them. She felt a bit timid at his demanding words. Could he just control Jacob like this? She crawled off the beast, stumbling over to the werewolf, still not quite sure on her feet. Nessa opened her mouth, but it was like her mind couldn’t control her mouth. ”Agnus Grimm,” was all she could say with a rather weird pronounciation. She scrunched her face as she couldn’t get her thoughts through to his mind and made a frustated look back at the wolf. She went to it, looking into it’s silver eyes as she tried to understand everything. *I can’t speak to him like I can to you,* her voice sounded in Jacob’s mind, making her look over to the big werewolf again. ”Hungry,” she mumbled, the world feeling so strange in her mounth.

Kyle looked confused at her as she said a name that sounded familiar, yet he hadnt really heard anyone mention it before. He had been told stories of his ancestors, but it wasnt really a known story to the world. "I wish I could help you," Jake replied and sighed deeply. Kyle nodded at her words and placed a hand on her shoulder rather carefully, "We'll get you something to eat," he said. The wolf growled at him as he had touched Nessa and Kyle turned his eyes back to it. "I just told you to be calm Jake," he said in a tired tone as he grabbed the wolf's ears, and seemed to do a motion with them. "Come back to me, my boy," he said in a low calm tone as he closed his eyes. The wolf snarled and showed it's teeth, but soon it started to calm down and sit. It closed it's eyes as the fur started falling off. Slowly the change happened and Kyle took a moment to get up and go back in the house. When he came back he wrapped a blanket over his naked son that looked up at him with scared eyes. "I dont know..." - "It's alright Jake," Kyle interrupted him like he knew what had been going on. He ruffled up Jake's hair and then looked at Nessa. "Whenever his wolf goes off, grab his ears and move them in circles. It'll calm him down enough to make him change back when the moon isnt here," he explained as he then helped Jake to his feet, but Jake felt a bit too wobbly to move on his own, having been long in the wolf form without the moon being present. Kyle nodded towards the house and helped Jake inside, looking at Nessa. "Do you have a sister?" he asked with narrowed eyes, not sure if he was just seeing some similar features to Dinah that had been Jake's friend, but oddly hadnt been here in a while. Jake felt awfully tired. "I'm going to need to rest," he mumbled as he looked to Nessa. "But you need food first," he then said looking up at his father that nodded. They moved to the kitchen were Jake was seated at a table, slouching down on the chair, pulling the blanket tighter around himself. "Should I just make something for you?" Kyle asked Nessa with a little smile. "She cant talk to you," Jake mumbled tiredly. Kyle looked at Jake, "Can she talk to you then?" - "Yes" - "Then let me know what she says,"

Nessa was a bit surprised as grown up werewolf touched her shoulder, and she heard the wolf growl. She wanted to comfort it, make it calm down, but his father, or at least who she pressumed was his father, made the wolf calm down again. She looked with big eyes as the wolf went to it’s human form, popping her head to the side as she looked at the fur surrounding Jake. Nessa watched the parent werewolf leaving shortly, coming back with something to cover up the naked young male. She couldn’t do much right now, but listened to Jake’s father speak, moving her fingertips against each other as she tried imagining it, nodding when she had understood. She moved with the two werewolves, silent as she still didn’t feel comfortable speaking much at all. Sister? She think she did, but she barely knew her relations at this point however she nodded, yet you could see the hesitation in her eyes. Like she wasn’t sure. Nessa opened the doors for them, still a bit unsure of her steps. As they got into the kitchen she looked around with big eyes, how could all of this be something that existed? It seemed like so many things in one room, yet it fit together. Jake’s father spoke to her, and she was a bit startled, looking to Jake for some answers. *I don’t know his name?* she said in Jake’s mind, furrowing her brows as she looked to the big werewolf, however she turned her face to Jake again, studying his face and body. He looked so different in this form, yet she liked looking at him in either form. *And I haven’t had food before, I just know I’m hungry,* she added. How long had she been alive in this body? Maybe a couple of hours, and she still found it hard to move around. *Just something that isn’t too much of a hassle to him,* she said with a smile. She felt an immense need to touch Jake and so she did, reaching her hand out to touch his hand.

Kyle noticed her surprise at the heavily furnished kitchen and smiled a bit. "My wife and I have quite a lot of money at our disposal. Wanted to make this a nice home for everyone that's going to live here in the future," he explained. Jake frowned a bit and shook his head, "They're still here," - "Well, you guys are going back to the future at some point," Kyle pointed out. Jake shrugged and was placed in the chair, "I can go home whenever I like,"
"Kyle. His name is Kyle," Jake replied vocally, his mind being too tired to differ between what was telepathy and what was spoken. "Kyle Grimm-Mikaelson. It's only proper that she knows my lastname as well," Kyle raised his eyebrow with wonder as he then looked at the girl and nodded to what Jake said. He couldnt understand why Jake was saying it like he had been asked to tell, but he didnt ask any questions. He went to the fridge and opened it, looking a bit around as he had asked his question. Jake turned tired eyes to Nessa and listened to her, closing his eyes for a bit. "She'd like anything," - "Alright, but why isnt she saying that herself?" - "Havent you heard her speak? It's hard for her," - "You're so grumpy when you're tired, son," - "I know.. Sorry, dad" Jake and Kyle exchanged, Kyle nodding as he picked out a few things, some fruits, a bit of vegetables and some meat. He placed it on the table and washed his hands as he started preparing the food. "Then I shall not force her to talk," he said with a smile as he looked at the girl. "But I would like to know your name," he said, finding the necessary tools as he started cutting the meat into proper portions. He was making the food for both Jake and her, so it might have seemed like a lot. Jake opened his eyes and looked at Nessa again. "He's very talkative," he warned her with a tired smile. Kyle scoffed and placed the meat on a pan as he glaned at Jake. "I am just a curious person. Especially when it regards friends of my children," he said in a warm caring tone.

Nessa nodded, understanding Kyle, but the way language sounded when someone spoke it differed from how it seemed to sound in her head. In her head, it was like the language went through a filter, and she thought she was speaking Hebrew when she was speaking English to Jake. It felt easier. Kyle Grimm-Mikaelson. What an odd name, she thought, but the Grimm she recognized. English sounded at bit like all the sentences were mixed together in to one word, however she nodded. Kyle was his name as Jake had taught her. The two started speaking, and she furrowed her brows as they seemed to speak a bit fast. She could understand, but it was like catching up to a fast runner. She felt curious, walking closer to the kitchen counter as she watched Kyle slice and dice the food. Nessa wasn’t really shy, standing and watching rather closely, however she was still closer to Jake than to Kyle. Maybe it was because she felt safe near the young werewolf and was still a bit weary of the mature one. ”Nessa,” she said as he asked for her name. She was greatful for being named something in Hebrew. It was so easy to pronounce and didn’t feel like a mumbled up mess coming from her tongue. She wanted to converse with Kyle, speak with him and tell him what Jake and the wolf had told her, yet she wasn’t sure what to do. ”Ani lo midaberet anglit, ata midaber ivrit?” (I don’t speak English, but do you speak Hebrew) she asked in her sweet voice. Her Hebrew almost sounded like singing, but she was also unsure of wether or not any of them could understand. She shook her head. *I don’t really know how to speak your language yet,* her voice said in Jake’s head, walking over to him, and touching his hair. What was this need inside her to just be close to him? Like she was safer when he was there. *You’re tired, my wolf,* she said in a caring voice, looking into his blue eyes she could see his struggle to keep awake.

"Nice to meet you Nessa," Kyle said with a smile as he was slicing up the different vegetables for them to eat.
Jake's eyes widened as she spoke in a different language, confused to why he understood every word of what she was saying. He looked to Kyle, who was looking at him with narrowed eyes at his reaction. Kyle looked back at Nessa and exhaled deeply. "I know Hebrew, but I cant speak in it," he told her as he looked at Jake once again. He was slowly figuring out what was happening, but he wasnt sure if it was what he thought it was. He continued cooking their food, and went quiet as he was indulging in his thoughts. Jake looked to Nessa again and felt her touching his hair, "I dont understand," he mumbled as he looked up at her. Why did it seem like she needed to be close to him and touch his hair? He was still figuring out how to feel about Dinah, and meeting Nessa made it more complicated. He looked up at her and raised his eyebrows at her words in his head, "Why do you call me that?" he asked with tired eyes, trying to understand everything that was going on.
Kyle looked up at them and sliced the last vegetables that he placed on two plates. He took the meat off the heat and assorted it in fair sizes before he took the plates and placed them on the table, "I made some for you too Jake," he said as he looked at his son. Jake groaned and looked at the plate, "I'm not that hungry," he mumbled, but Kyle just shook his head, going back to the counters to grab two forks and knives that he placed next to the plates, "You should still eat after your transformation," he told him. He crossed his arms, looking at Jake, till Jake sat up and grabbed a fork. "I'll leave you two to it. But we should talk about what happened out there at some point," Kyle said with a warm smile before he left the kitchen, leaving them alone.

Nessa smiled at Kyle and nodded at his greeting. It was a bit comforting to know that Kyle could understand her, but even then she felt like it would be odd for her to explain everything at once. There was so much she still couldn’t understand about this new world. As she went to Jake she felt how he hesitated a bit, making her unwillingly step away. She couldn’t understand either. She just felt so gravitated towards him and not knowing made her afraid that she was doing something wrong. She shook her head taking a handfull of her own hair in her fist as she tried to make sense of everything. Her breath became a bit unstable again as she couldn’t answer. She just knew that he was her wolf, how could she describe it. She opened her mouth, but nothing came out. Luckily Kyle seemed to save the day, and as he served the food she sat down in silence. Her heart beating fast still, because she started to question everything. Why didn’t she remember anything but waking up in this body? Why did she just know things that didn’t make sense. She looked down at the plate, feeling her stomach rumble as she, like a child, reached for the food with her fingers. Kyle placed some utinsils at her disposal, but she looked at them a bit confused. Waiting to see how Jake would handle them before picking the fork up herself. She started eating as Kyle left the room and just took her time getting used to using the fork. It felt weird, but she did manage to eat a bit.

*I don’t know,* she finally replied to his question. She ate for a bit, feeling her hunger get deminished and her fullness increase, yet the taste was too good to not finish the whole plate. *My mind just tells me that it’s what I’m supposed to call you,* her voice sounded sad in his head. She couldn’t understand, but she wanted to. She placed a hand over her chest, furrowing her brows, swallowing as she felt her body shake a bit. ”Jake,” she said his name out loud for the first time and it felt weird. It felt like she wasn’t allowed to feel like this, and it made her sad. She took a sharp inhale, trying to focus on some word or sentence that could explain it all. Her body was tired, having already done more than she ever had in her so short life. *Do you want me to leave?* she asked, retreating to a place where she could communicate safely. She didn’t know how to get back to her father. She barely knew how to walk without stumbling at this point.

Kyle noticed how Nessa was about to eat the food with her hands, frowning a bit confused yet he smiled as he brought them their tools. Jake grabbed the fork and dug it into the meat, before he grabbed the knife and cut out a fine piece that he placed in his mouth. He noticed how Nessa was watching him and tilted his head a bit tiredly.
He ate slowly, chewing in lazy movements as he just tried to stay awake. He moved his eyes to her as she spoke, finally answering his question from before. He couldnt say the answer was clearing any confusion and he swallowed the meat that he had spent quite long on chewing to pieces. He nodded at her words and sighed deeply. "I get it," he said as he looked at his plate as he couldnt shake off the sadness of her tone. It didnt seem like it was something she voluntarily wanted and now he felt bad for being so blunt about it. He stuck a pice of carrot in his mouth as she said his name and he swore he had heard someone else say it the way she did. He looked at her with confused eyes as he blinked a bit tiredly. Her question made him shake his head as he looked at his plate and pushed it a bit away, feeling too tired to even try and finish it. "No, I dont, and I'm sorry for being so rude" he said as he scratched his neck and leaned back to close his eyes, "I'm just trying to understand everything that's happening," he explained as he got up from the chair. His legs still felt a bit wobbly but he managed to get to the coffee machine, taking out the pot with fairly fresh brewed coffee that he poured into a mug. He drank it in no time, before he turned to her again and leaned a bit back against the table, holding the blanket tight around him. "Whats your story?" he asked, clearly interested in knowing.

He got it? If he understood, then Nessa couldn’t understand why he had asked her. Everything seemed to confuse her right now, maybe it was because she was finally realising what this world was and meant. It was like something inside her was feeding her information about the world, and her brain could hardly keep up with it all. She saw his reaction when she said his name, making her swallow and feeling like she had done something wrong yet again. Nessa shook her head, feeling like she should just stop everything. She kept sitting at the table as Jake got up, eating her food in silence before her plate was empty. *You’re not rude, I guess we are both a bit confused,* she answered a bit sad still. It mostly came from the fact that she still felt confused. Her gaze following him as he drank the dark liquid. Her story? *It’s only just begun today – what about you?* she said.

Nessa still didn’t know how to explain everything. To her, she had just woken up in this body today, and she somehow knew some things and not other things. She could see he was still confused and looked down at her empty plate. From the future he said, as if it was a normal sentence. She looked back at him, frowning a bit as she tried understanding what he said. He explained why they had gotten to this time and she got up from her seat, taking their plates and moving them to the sink. *So you have yet to be born, and you want to stop something that hasn’t happened yet, however not knowing how to do it?* she asked with a smile on her lips. She wasn’t trying to simplify, just understand. *I think Eaden and Dinah are my siblings,* she said, the information still a bit fuzzy to her.
