Kian was standing at the front of the café, waiting for his order. It had been a little troublesome getting the order right, but hopefully the barista understood what he wanted. He looked around and saw all the people just enjoying the weather. It was nice to see. He felt happier, when people around him were happy. He got distracted and didn't see the barista calling for him. An older woman got his attention. He moved up to the counter to get the drink. On his way back, he offered the woman a kind smile.

He found a place to sit. He imagined Persephone would be coming soon. He hadn't seen her for some time, but he had missed her. He hoped she was doing good. He took a sip of his ice coffee and enjoyed how it cooled him down. He was not a big coffee drinker, but in the summer he nearly drank ice coffees every day. In the colder weather, he prefered drinks such as hot chocolate or tea. He found his phone and started looking through it. He sometimes still searched for his old friends. He knew he could never see them, as they likely didn't know the supernatural existed, so he couldn't explain why he wasn't dead. He missed them, but it was how it had to be.

He put his phone away again and looked around, hoping to spot Persephone soon. He was getting a little impatient, but only because he looked forward to seeing her again. They had not gotten super close at the academy, but he had still enjoyed her company. If she hadn't gone away, they probably would have become friends. He hoped that could be possibility now.

Kian was appreciative, whenever someone would try to learn sign language to communicate with him. However, he would never expect it of anyone. He could read lips and had other ways of communicating with people, who wouldn’t understand sign language. It was a bit tiring to him, but he didn’t mind. It was just easier for him to be friends with someone he could communicate freely with.
Kian tried his best to be friendly with everyone. He was not a person to seek out conflicts with people. He knew well, that conflicts were inevitable, but if they did occur, he would try to solve them at any costs. He was really just a guy, who tried and wanted to get along with everyone. He looked up when he saw movement near the table. A smile appeared on his face, the instant he saw Persephone. You too, he signed. He nodded towards the seat across from him, to offer her to sit down.
It was not everyone who would care so much for his well-being, as Persephone had. It was admirable and made him sure they could become friends. He surely wanted to. Sometimes there were people you just clicked with, no matter how much time passed and what happened. He believed Persephone to be such a person to him. But he wouldn’t know for sure, until they spent some more time together.
