its 1 pm somewhere in the world

Being somewhere new was exhausting. She had no friends, and as usual it wasn’t that easy to get them. Her father had tried to make up for the changes by buying her new clothing, jewelry and make illusions of her old friends. But it just wasn’t the same. It didn’t cheer her up. So, she had been staring at the ceiling for hours in her bed, thinking and when the clock reached three, she chose to get up, care for her grandma and then go for a walk. A long one. Some would almost say she was going hiking.
She had just gotten to the north side of Southside. The streets were pretty empty which was why she got quite observant when she could smell the presence of another being. She looked over her shoulder continuously, but no one were there. She could feel how she was getting nervous, which was why she grabbed her phone. She then looked over her shoulder again, seeing a man looking quite mysterious. She immediately jumped and started to run. She knew she shouldn’t have hacked that mysterious server the other day and deleted any backup. She hadn’t been careful enough, and it had just lead people to her. Fucking shit. She then dialed the police while she was running.
Please be patient. You’re number five in the queue.
She hung up. This was bad, really, really bad. She then thought through her acquaintances who had some kind of relationship to the police, so she ended up dialing Aurelia, a crime photographer. It was quickly picked up. “Aurelia, help!” she panted, “Someone is chasing me,” she continued.
“Where are you, Jane?”
“Southside, north border,” she replied, looking over her shoulder once, before she turned on a corner. Hopefully, she could shake this dude off in the alleys. She ran as fast as she could, sprinting. “Dark hair, leather jacket, light shirt and jeans” she tried to explain the man’s outfit. Then the man tried to fire after her, which made her squeal, “He has a gun!” she yelped and ducked a bit.
“I’ll be right there,” the crime photographer said, hoping that she could get there in time. They hung up. After a while he shot towards Mary-Jane again, making her jump. She now looked after anyone who could help her in any way.


Aurelia was quick to call up Alazul, knowing that the police probably was quite busy. As soon as the phone was picked up she said: “I need your help. A friend of mine is in danger at the north side of Southside. There’s a gun involved” she said. “Meet me there.”

Note Jane is 163cm and Mary is 178cm.


Mary-Jane did everything she could to continue running. Luckily, she was connected to a fox, making her fast and agile. She quickly turned around a corner, and yet another corner bumping into a guy. She fell onto the ground hitting her elbows. She hissed a little before she looked up – he didn’t seem like one who worked with the other guy. He was tall, broad shouldered and seemed quite handsome, even though she didn’t have time to look too much. “Please help me,” she begged, as she got to her feet and looked over her shoulder. Her voice had a thick Scottish accent. “Don’t let him get me,” she said, before she hurried behind the tall man. She tried to silence herself as much as possible by putting a hand on top of her lips so she wouldn’t be panting when the darkhaired man would come running. As soon as she could smell the man come closer, she decided to change. She got taller, curvier, bigger muscles, changed clothes, and got a  sweeter scent almost resembling an angel. Her voice was more mature and with a British accent. She didn’t want to appear just yet, but hopefully the tall man wouldn’t feel weird when she appeared in another form, not smelling, or looking the same.


Aurelia parked her car on the side of the road. It was still the same old car as the first time she had met Alazul. She stood there, waiting for a moment, trying to sniff up any people outside. Luckily, Aurelia knew Mary-Jane quite well, in both of her most normal forms, which was why she quickly detected that she had company by a werewolf and another thunderbird was getting closer to them. Even without her great sense of smell, she could feel Mary-Janes fear from afar. Darn wild thunderbirds. As soon as Alazul parked nearby, she looked in his direction, “Come on,” she called before she started to run in the direction of the three people. Thunder started to rumble and her eyes started to get a more blue color. Aurelia was the type of person who cared a lot for the younger generation – and most people were the younger generation to her.

Oh, how the man lied to the man who had just agreed to help her. Clearly, the big man had heard the gunshut and was more than ready to help her. Which was nice – except she hadn’t thought that the man who had chased her would start to fire at innocent people. Luckily, the man she had chosen to get help from, was able to create a shield which made the bullets run off like drops on a window. The man suddenly started to throw the shield, making her follower drop the gun. Suddenly the two men ran towards each other and ended up in a fistfight. Men.

So, she took of her cardigan with a swift movement and with light steps, she maneuvered behind the man who had been chasing the younger looking version of herself, threw her cardigan around him, only to try and lock it around his neck, so she could pull him away. Hold him, so the big dude could throw some punches and hopefully knock him out.

Aurelia continued to run towards the fight and the thunder followed them as they approached. It didn’t take long, before she could see how the thunderbird and werewolf stood fighting like cavemen, and Mary had tried to interfere with holding back the thunderbird. God damnit, Mary. The thunder road loudly and wind started to pick up. She had no darn weapons on her, and she was quite sure she wouldn’t be able to use thunder, lightning nor wind to part them – so hopefully Alazul had a better idea.

Mary kept on holding the guy which had been chasing her and tried to either pull him down or away from the guy who had tried to keep her little self safe. While the big guy got some better punches in, it really didn’t seem like it had much effect on the guy who had been chasing her. Therefore, she started to try and kick the guy. She aimed for his ribs, hoping that he either would run out of air or feel the immense pain that it caused to be hit by the ribs. She could smell that Aurelia was approaching with someone else, but she didn’t give them any attention. She was busy in getting this guy down.
They guy Aurelia had brought with her stirred up a wind and made the men fall back, making Mary almost lose her balance having not been prepared for this. Aurelia kept a wide eye open for what was happening. She was just a mere crime photographer, who didn’t really fight no more.
