Vengeance

Atlas made a gentle movement with her hand for Lucille and Orion to follow her upstairs as Veronica made her way through. Not that Atlas minded it, her sister could do things how she wanted. Then she herself bounced upstairs followed by Orion who with a small exhausted sigh followed, heart torn and completely out of it - the former demon had no idea how to be in this body right now, all the emotions and fragile skin. He felt so weak that he could nothing but just walk upstairs. They didn't have time for this. Kailani was missing and he hated that they weren't out searching for her, but was going to play their own version of Russian roulette back here.

"I don't like this," he whispered close to Lucille and breathed out, not taking his eyes of Atlas as she entered the office. His voice even in a whisper held onto the sorrow that spread out in his chest, no matter how hard he tried to push it down it kept on fighting its way back in. Even so, Orion had always been way better at this side of life than his father, he was the main reason why his beloved dad didn't just run a normal casino and why the criminal world never slept. Entering his father's office his eyes didn't pull away from Rogue, he more so just exhaled a little bit. "Rogue, to what do I owe the pleasure," he asked after having cleared his throat leaving the sorrow by the door. There was no time for such thing right now.

Lucille had to agree with Orion; she didn’t like any of it; why tonight of all nights? What was going on, and how had Atlas and Rogue already known about the kidnapping of Kailani? There were so many questions that were roaming around in her head, which made her only nod in agreement with Orion’s statement.
For a moment, she wondered if she could place a hand on his shoulder but thought against it, as she didn’t want Rogue to get any of her funny ideas. You never really knew where you had the woman, always playing on every string, ear to the ground. It seemed like she knew everything that was worth knowing in the world.

Rogue looked up from the chair she was sitting in, giving Orion a soft smile as he asked what he owed her the pleasure; she clicked her tongue and tilted her head, taking in the new form that the former demon was walking around in. Partly her fault, but sometimes you had to crack a few eggs to make an omelette.
“Seems like you need my help tonight,” Rogue said as she looked down at the glass in her hand; Veronica rolled her eyes as she walked over to the chair her father usually sat in. “Right, and we’re to think that you had nothing to do with this,” she growled, having a hard time believing that Rogue didn’t have some part in her mother's death and the fact that Kailani was now in the hands of Acacia.
“You can think what you like”, Rogue stated, taking a small sip of her drink. “But no matter what, you’ll still need my help, which means are we going to talk about it or are we to bicker about whose fault it is what transpired today; we need Kailani back from Acacia before she is there too long, that is all I can say unless you, of course, want a new person ruling Gaia and before long Athena” she leaned back, placing one leg over the other, Veronica blinked a little taken aback before she looked up at Orion, letting him conduct the rest of the talk, she was too emotional and too angry to make any use of this.

Orion took a sharper breath in, narrowing his eyes a little bit. He had to stand his ground on this one, now was not the time to lose face despite the chaos around him. But he had always been fairly good at that, keeping himself grounded even if the world was crashing underneath him, it was one of many reasons why Orion was good at what he did. "I've trouble believing you will help just simply by the goodness of your heart, so why don't we cut to the case and tell us what you want in return for your help?" He raised a brow a little, his voice dried from all emotions that could be used against him, Orion was even known to be better at things like this than his father, both Veronica and their father were rather emotional, far more than they cared to admit. Not to say Orion couldn't be emotional, he just had different skillsets in the act of pushing his soul down.

He didn't like the fact that Kailani was held against her will by someone, yet also knowing Kailani's powers could be her win or downfall in this. If some maniac who wanted to take over the world showed up, grabbing onto a good luck charm was the best weapon possible. Orion also knew Kailani would rather die than have anyone control her, and with Bast betray - he was worried about what Kailani actually do in a situation like this. He knew for a fact not to underestimate a woman with a broken heart, they could do a massive damage.

She lifted her brow, even though it was true that she wanted something in return; Rogue never did anything for free—but she was never unfair, at least she thought so herself. What others might think, well, it wasn’t really her concern now, was it.  
“I only ask that you remember me when you decide to take this to your grandfather—right now, I don’t have anything to ask from you, but like everything else, it is a dept that I will come and collect”, she lifted her brow, besides she didn’t want Acacia to succeed with her foolish plan, and when it came down to it, it wasn’t like Rogue would just sit back and see the world burn down, at least not when it wasn’t her doing.

Veronica let out a small sigh, letting her fingers pinch the bridge of her nose, and then she turned and looked at Orion. “Listen, I don’t like it any more than you do, but we need help, especially after everything else that happened” she lowered her voice, even though she knew that both Atlas and Rogue would be able to hear it—“you saw father, there is no way he is in any condition to help us, he’ll start a revenge act on his own, trying to make it sound like he's trying to protect us, we—you and me, we have to take care of this, okay?” she narrowed her eyes before turning them back to Rogue “So, what will it be? Shall I go and get Kailani myself, or do I do it for you, and you’ll get her back safe and sound?”
