So, she had been here around three in the afternoon, knowing that Ash liked to sleep in on his days off work. But as she had walked around the house calling his name, she realized that he wasn’t even home. Had she miscalculated or remembered incorrectly when his days were off? After some time contemplating whether she should just leave or maybe check if her kids were home. She had gone around in his house, realizing just how little time he had had to take care of the place, and without a second thought she had just jumped to the chance and started cleaning and making it look, more homely. Maybe it had been for the fact that her house here on earth was now owned by the kid’s aunt, her former sister-in-law. And this just brought a peace to Eden, walking around taking up housework when she had been a wife and mother. Reminding her, that she was still her, still Eden. Not always the Archangel Zadkiel.
After three hours there was still no sign of Ash, so she had looked in the fridge. “What on earth” she looked at the few beers, and that, was it? No that wouldn’t do.

One hour later.
Eden stood in the kitchen prepping food for the next week, making sure that there was a box for lunch and dinner, making sure that everything was high on all the most important nutrition you needed throughout the day. In the end all she really did, was just making everything as easy for a busy person like Ash was. That he could just grab what ever and reheat it without needing to do much really. When she was done with that, she had been sitting in the couch. He still wasn’t home, and she could hear how rain was starting to pour down outside. She really didn’t feel like going before she had at least said hi to him, hopefully he would be home and not decide to sleep at the hospital. So, slightly tired she walked upstairs pulled out one of his t-shirts putting it on. With a few steps she walked over window and opened it, so she could hear the rain fall outside, while lying in the bed.
Everything smelled like him, and she slowly closed her eyes, thinking for a moment how creepy this could look. But he had told her, that she was always welcome. So, she intended on invoking that statement. If she didn’t see him this time, at least she would feel like she had been somewhat close to him. Eden had no idea at what point she fell asleep.

Over 24 hours. Once again, Ash had worked overtime. He was beyond exhausted, and everything had bothered him at least for the last twelve hours. It didn't help that half the staff seemed to have caught some virus, making his team have to work twice as hard. Then not to mention the coffee machine had went down, and then the rain had started to pour down - so no one wanted to go outside to get coffee. On top of that. So many idiots had crashed doing this shit storm of a cloudburst. Busy day at the ER, very much indeed. If that wasn't even enough, the one day he would actually have liked Nia bringing in muffins. She hadn't, and he was starving, because the reason half the staff was sick was from food poisoning. So, him and Cecilia had been working over hours on empty stomachs, because there was no way they were risking getting sick

Finally, he could go home. And he was thrilled. Looking out at some poor fools that had to walk home, he had laughed a bit. But as he almost got to his house, just a few blocks away really, his car shut down. This whole day was just going fan freaking fantastic. Ash looked out at the rain pouring down and sighed heavily. Then, he got his stuff and got out of the car. Slammed the car door and locked the car. Cursing and mumbling in the rain while walking the next 15 minutes home, soaked, tried and hungry. He looked up noticing his bedroom window was open. Had he forgotten to close it? Had Bash been by? Ash took a deeper breath in and went to the front door, and unlocked the door, then walked in.

The demi-god kept on cursing, taking off the wet clothing as he made his way to the guest bathroom downstairs, taking it off and hanging it to dry. Still cursing, then turning around and by accident kicking his left foot into the wall, making him scream up in annoyance.

It had been such a long time she had slept this well. There was something about the scent that just lulled her right into beautiful dreams. She was suddenly pulled abruptly out of sleep, as she heard someone scream. It took her a moment before she realized that it came from downstairs, in the house.
Without even thinking about it, she threw of the duvet she had almost been sleeping under, because of Ash smell being all over it. And ran downstairs. “Ash!?” she yelled out, clearly thinking the worst about what had happened since he had let out not only such a loud, but also angry scream. She had to fold her lips in as she watched how he jumped around with his foot. Then it didn’t take her long before she realized just what had happened. The last thing she wanted, was to start laughing. But him standing there, looking like a grumpy stray cat. Totally soaked to the bone and just ready to burn down the whole world for being the worst.

“You, okay?” she asked, as a smile formed on her lips, after she let them go from the hold her teeth had in them, to stop herself from laughing at the scenario. She didn’t even think about how weird it must be for him to see her standing there in front of him.

The last thing he had expected today was to look into the mirror and see Eden show up behind him, as if she had run down from upstairs. Ash frowned a bit and turned around. They hadn't seen each other in what felt like forever, a few times over a surgery, but it wasn't like you could really take your personal feelings with you to the ER, and leaving your feelings at the door was something Ash was excellent at. He had placed them in a box and acted like everything was normal, but he would lie if he had said not having seen her hadn't hurt. Now, Ash wasn't a person who put a lot of doubt about himself, and always carried himself with confidence - but even he had to admit that all this had taken a bite of his so called confidence, and he didn't like that at all. Ash knew he had no right to ask anything of her, so he didn't.

You okay?

He raised a brow at her, stopping for a second and just looked at her. "Does this look okay to you?" He moved his hand down gesturing to how soaked he was. Ash didn't even think about the fact of the fact that she was here, right now when all the chaos for the day had taken his attention. He took the wet shirt over his head, still mumbling, cursing over the world he hated so much at this given point. But it was like as he stood there throwing himself a pity party like no other, he realized that she was there and turned his head to her again. "You are here?" He asked in a lower voice, far from filled with hatred and boiled up anger like he had just been swinging around seconds ago. "Is everything okay?"

Eden had to once again, fold her lips together and grab the bottom lip with her teeth not to start laughing. She quite enjoyed that he didn’t really change her behavior much around her. His brutal honesty had always been something that she had adored about him. If you didn’t like that, then you didn’t deserve everything else that Ash was hiding underneath the cloak of sarcasm and anger.
She gave him time to curse and get his wet shirt of his head, before it hit him that she was actually standing there behind him, at this point leaning up against the doorframe, crossed arms, while watching him. Still a very nice sight as he turned around without wearing a shirt.
“Yeah, I’m here” she answered back and watched how some of the armor melted away and back stood the man she had shared a night with two months ago.
A small, pained smile formed on her lips, as he asked her if everything was alright. Making her aware just how long it had been since she had seen him last, where it hadn’t been at the hospital. She had never meant for it to take this long, but with healing Michael’s son. Trying to figure out how she shifted between being Eden and the Archangel of forgiveness. Suddenly time had just passed her, without her even noticing.
“I just, really missed you and I was sure it was your day off” she finally told with a small breath, before letting her dark eyes find his hazel. “So, I actually been here the whole day” she explained licking her lips leaning her head against the doorframe.

She mentioned that she had missed him, making him take a sharper breath in. He wanted to say he had missed her too, because he had. He really had missed her so much, but the words just didn't come out of his mouth - not yet anyways. "I was my day off actually, but we were low on staff - food poisoning, so both me and Cecilia have been working over time since last night," he told with a small shrug, she knew how it was with their line off work. You could have looked forward to your vacation, but when you were specialist in something or an area, sometimes you were just too needed at work. This had been Ash' case with all the trauma's there had been today. "You've been here the whole day?" He asked blinking a little bit, surprised by the fact that she had taken her whole day, and just spend it here. Ash breathed out again and cleared his throat. "I'm sorry then, I can't imagine it having been a quite good day then," he confessed and scratched the back of his head. "I really need to get out of this, I will be right down," he pointed his finger shortly before he headed upstairs to get some clean clothing on. Just a t-shirt and a pair of sweats, that was really all you wanted to wear after a day like this. "I think I'm going to order some food, I haven't eaten the entire day, do you want any?" Ask asked, with his luck it was most likely going to be delayed by hours, but he was starving and knew he didn't have any food in his fridge. Or so he thought.

She nodded as he asked if he had been here the whole day, then she quickly turned it into a slight shake as he apologized because he couldn’t imagine it be a very good day. “Better than yours by the looks of it, it was nice really, I, kind of ended up cleaning” she looked at the train of water that he had taken with him in. Well, at least you could still see that she had cleaned, somewhat. “Yeah, alright” she said with a smile, and could feel she felt a little awkward with the whole situation. Shouldn’t she had come?

Eden slowly walked from the downstairs bath towards the kitchen pulling out stuff for them to eat now that he was home. There was still things to make chicken with a nice salat and some potatoes and it wouldn’t take that long to make it.
She poked her head out of the kitchen towards him as he came down telling her that he was going to order food. “Or, you could wait half an hour and I’m done with some food for you” a soft smile was on her lips “come sit down, I’ll be quick so you can get some sleep” she turned around and walked over to the water that was boiling and put in the potatoes and started making a quick marinade for the chicken breast before she would put them on a heated pan. Then she could start chopping the ingredients for her salat. She had always loved cooking, there was something calming about it.

Ash made a small grimace, he couldn't imagine anyone having a worse day than him. Not today at least, but today had also been awful and a rant was threatening in the nearest future. But she mentioned she had ended up cleaning, he started looking around, noticing all of it little by little. But it was mostly as he was upstairs getting dried up and dressed.

As he came back then his eyes landed on the trail of water, about to curse a little at himself, but had asked about food instead. He didn't mind ordering food and Cecilia had given him a list of places that still took orders at these crazy hours - she would know. Ash frowned a bit looking up from his phone as she mentioned that she could just make him some food. Ash looked like one big question mark, most likely from knowing he didn't own anything in his fridge. "But I don't-" he looked out in the kitchen seeing some of the ingredients on the counter, making him frown even more. So tired and so confused. "O-okay," he let himself fall down into one of the stools in the kitchen looking at her. "Did you go grocery shopping?" Ash asked a few seconds later, really not expecting her to have done that. Bash had once in a while done it, because he knew how burned out Ash was. Also, Ash saw more of Bash only because of the fact that Bash tried to spend more time with his biological father. Which Ash had come to accept by now, mostly because he was just happy that Bash had accepted it, but also that it seemed like Cassian wanted to spend time with Sebastian. Not that Ash really was around to know that, but from looking at Bash things seemed to be going well. "I've missed you," he finally said as he breathed out looking over at Eden.

She had her back to him as she heard how he sat down, clearly not really understanding what she had done today. Maybe the biggest question in his mind, was why. She couldn’t really explain it. Mainly because she wanted to.
“Yeah” Eden looked over her shoulder after she was done slicing the tomatoes and put them in a bowl. Then she cleaned of her hands in the towel she had beside the cutting board a walked over to the fridge opening it, revealing cocked food in glass containers filling the whole thing. “I might have gone a little overboard, but there is food for the next week or so, you just need to reheat it” she explained with a smile and looked towards him. “I used to do it when Cael was working without end on a case, the eldest kids always helped me, and then the kids were sure to have homecooked meals every day, even when I came home later than expected” a soft smile appeared on her lips as she reminisced over that time. At least she had seen all her kids grow up. And she would still be there for the big moments. Even if she couldn’t be there ever day. She took a beer and opened it for him, and leaned over the kitchen island to place it in front of him.

I’ve missed you her brown eyes turned towards him, and she walked around the counter to him, placing a hand against his cheek before leaning down pressing her lips towards his in a chaste kiss. “I’m sorry I couldn’t come sooner” she whispered giving him an apologetic smile before she walked over to the food to make sure nothing burned. “Heavens are in chaos at the moment, I understand every day why the archangel of righteousness was needed to come back” she knew she had to be grateful that she was even alive at this point. And God might not have given her a chance, if she had declined the offer to take on the new responsibility given to her. But it was always funny, how she didn’t quite remember what really had gone on in the past few months. Only those where she had been at the hospital. The night with Ash and when she had comforted Tien. Those stood the strongest in her memory.
“When do you have to go back to the hospital?” she asked and placed the chicken on the hot pan, after she had finished the salad.

Ash blinked a little bit, there was no one that ever did anything like this for him. Or it was a lie. Sebastian time to time tried to, but Ash also knew his son had more than enough on his plate, and kept telling him not to do so. But Eden preparing food for the next week or so, it was a gesture he had no idea how to repay back. Ash didn't know what to say, he even forgot to breath for a moment. Why had she done that for him? He had done nothing to deserve it. But he understood why she had done it in the past, so the kids had food to eat. He had never been a master cook, or claimed to be for that matter. Both Aleks and Bash could make a somewhat good meal, the basics and it had been enough for them to be comfortable cooking when he had a late shifts. "Yeah, night shifts were always a bitch with young kids," he recalled as he took a deeper breath in. It still was a nightmare, but at least he didn't have anyone coming home to that needed him. It was just him and whenever Lexie was home, which she was half of the time. Ash chuckled with a warm smile lighting up on his face as she opened a beer for him and leaned over the kitchen island to place it in front of him. "Thank you," he said, he meant that for everything.

He had missed her. It wasn't a lie. Far from, he was just good at pushing through his emotions and act like everything was fine, which seemed to be a family trait at this time. His hazel eyes watched as she turned around towards him and walking around the counter to approach him, placing her hand on his cheek, feeling the fire in him start. There was no need to apologize, it wasn't why he said it, he just wanted her to know she was missed whenever she wasn't around. Heaven was chaos? He couldn't imagine the holy spoken Heavens being chaos, wasn't is supposed to be the place of all good, and good only? He took a sharper breath in, trying not to be pity about Heaven had taken more of her time than him. But he also wanted nothing more than for her to feel like she belonged somewhere, and if she felt like she belonged in Heaven sorting order there, perhaps it was her fate. Not that he liked it one bit. "I'm on call tomorrow, but its only if I'm needed -" he replied taking a deeper breath in watching her in the kitchen. "How long do you have before you have to go?" He asked back at her with a more tender voice.

She nodded as he told her that he needed to go back tomorrow already. She would be dishonest if she said it was fine, or that she didn’t hope that they wouldn’t call. Because that would be nice, if they could just have a day together, talk and be just them. She looked towards him as he asked of long it was before she had to go. She breathed out and gave him a slight smile. It helped that Eos no longer needed to be a hell’s door. Even though the whole thing with Rebekah and Uriel was taking up a whole lot of recourses. Then there were the massive attacks from demons, and she had no idea where to start if she was being honest. But she had been there for a while now, giving her whole devotion towards the heavens. And now, now she finally felt like it was time for her to do something for herself. “I don’t know to be honest, but I think I have some days before I’m really needed unless something big and horrible happens” she took the pan of the heat and then turned towards him with a smile on her lips “And since a lot of the other archangels are taking time off from time to time, I thought that it was fair if I also took some time to gather my thoughts and saw the people I care and love” She found some plates and then filled them and walked around to place on of them in front of him. Then she walked back and grabbed a fork and knife and then walked back. She sat down. For a moment she forgot that they were actually about to eat. She placed her elbow on her table leaning her head on her hand while taking him in. She really had missed him, so much.

It had been a minute since he ever had thought about getting a break, it wasn't really like he had much to come home to. At least not while Bash and Aleks had moved into their own space and with Lexie working abroad. It was just him, so always being only one call away had seemed ideal for someone who didn't want to admit they were lonely. Yes, of course he talked to people at work, but that was it. The second he went home, there was no one, just him and the four walls, maybe a few phone calls or texts he could reply too. Not that anyone really ever would realize how touch deprived he was. Ash took deeper breath in as she mentioned that she might actually have some days, which made his eyes light up just a little bit. "Seems only fair then," he chuckled a little bit tender. "Maybe I should call for a few days on, call it the summer vacation I never take," he scratched his chin a little bit while considering it.

Eden placed the plates on the table, and he gladly took the fork and the knife as it was given. Starting digging in, since he hadn't eaten all day, he was surprised that he hadn't passed out yet. He moved his hazel eyes up to her while chewing, pressing his brows a little bit together.

She couldn’t help but pull a smile as he theorized that he might call in and take some time off. It wasn’t like Eden was the woman to ever ask anyone to do something for her, but she also knew that Ash was that kind of person that never really took time off. Not now when his children were big enough to be on their own and take themselves on vacation. So, maybe it was a true win, win situation. He could get some well-deserved rest, and she could spend some days with him. Trying to figure out what it was that was going on between them.

She took a few bites, but she wasn’t really that hungry and had only made herself a small portion so he wouldn’t eat alone. Only reminding herself that she had done that so many times before. With a husband that never really got home in time to eat dinner with his family. Eden quickly pushed the memory away, as he turned his eyes towards her. A soft smile formed on her lips as she didn’t really look away. “Sorry, I’m staring” she laughed and finally pulled her head away from her hand and looked down on her food taking a few more bites. “It would be lovely to spend some time with you, if you feel like you can take some days off” she finally said got up as she wanted to take a glass of water for herself.

Ash chuckled a bit, she didn't need to apologize. She really didn't. Ash never really took time to himself, it was only if his sons or Lexie asked him to do something or asked if he could take a day of that he did. Otherwise, he had no reasons not to work, people needed someone to work and help, and perhaps he had grown a slight fear that if he didn't go to work, someone would die because he wasn't there - which was of course a stupid pressure to put on your own shoulder, but it also pushed him to do better. At least in his own head. He chuckled a little bit, "Yeah," he mumbled a bit. Some days off. Perhaps it was the answer to everything, which was sort of terrifying. Changing his ways were always terrifying. His house was rather empty, but right now it felt so full, perhaps it was because Eden was here. His eyes followed her as she got up, and walked over to get a glass of water. Ash took a sip of his beer and took a deeper breath in as he placed it back down on the table. He didn't really know how to feel right now, at least he wasn't grumpy anymore. But today had also just been a special kind of day. Either way seeing Eden here, it made it a whole lot better. "I will take a few days off," he announced as he made the choice, before taking a few more bites. No one really depended on him anymore, the kids could take care of themselves, and they longed to do so - Ash didn't think too much about it either. "You really saved my entire day, you know that right?"
