An nearly innocent bafflement waves over her face and even showed in her eyes, her brows raised to further elaborate on how his little observation had come like somewhat of a surprise to her. “They probably have. But truthfully, I rarely notice it myself anymore.” If she had really ever been attentive to that aspect of her personality. “Does it bother you?” she asked, lowering her brows and letting her expression smooth out again. Smooth into something more curious, only strengthened by a tilt of the head. There was not actual way of telling whether or not she would change depending on his answer, though. It had been built heavily on a trait to get to the point and not skip around with questions, which she for the most part already knew the answers of. But he had pointed it out so of course she then had become more aware of it. He had pointed it out, so maybe it really did bother him. Was she a bother?.. It was never her intentions. The angel was then suddenly very close to catching her off guard one more time in the very small time frame when asking about her night, however she compelled herself to not let it show.
She dropped her gaze from him and found focus the table beside her, glancing over the untouched stationary made available for her as a guest of the hotel. “I did. More than I had planned for since I fell asleep amidst my research. Regardless my night was…” She reached out to grab a provided ball pen with the hotel’s name engraved - not simply printed - on it. The hotel most have reeled in quite the profit. “…uneventful,” she lied effortlessly and finally looked back up at him with another reassuring perk in her posture. It had been some night. Some arrival day in whole.

Saga’s attention automatically fell on the knife he brought forth and placed, quickly analysing it from what she could see without having to hold it. She couldn’t help but wonder just how many hidden weapons like that he was carrying. Not just this afternoon but in general. She bore none as of everyday. Her strongest weapons running in her veins or perhaps floating in the air around her. She brought a breath of air deep into her lunges and firstly took a step back before walking away from the table. And from Michael. Letting him undress without her only a few steps away from him. “Considering we’ll be going together, the spell I’ll be attaching to you apart from the one hiding your scent it’s one that’ll make it possible for me to upkeep your glamour for as long as necessary, so there’s no actual say in how long exactly,” she explained as she reached the big see-through siding doors to a sweet little balcony which with a swift moments covered up with the curtains. “All you’d have to be concerned with is not to damage the spells or the magic will disappear.” She momentarily twisted her body to look at him over her shoulder, to check if he was following what she was saying. It wasn’t hard to understand, so surely. As long as she had the energy and the proper deport and as long as he didn’t get the weaving slashed and broken, he’d not have to worry about his disguise fading.

“Ah.” She looked back down at the table and then turned properly around again. “I believe I found something interesting regarding those. Sit.” Casually she gestured for him to sit down on the edge of the bed, it being the best spot for her to get to work on the spells on him. Saga herself moved to the table to grab - or rather reach out and have a document from under the laptop float to her hand, which she walked over and handed Michael. “Two of the addresses are heavily warded. Professionally. Witch magic. They were difficult to pinpoint of this but they should be in the vicinity of Vinãles here on the island. This one..” She pointed to one of the addresses. “… I suspect to be the beach house I overheard about last night. And this last one.” She looked into the angels eyes. “Is partially faked. It’s one of the only ones with a post code, but it’s not in the US as written. It’s in Gaia. The rest are minor places owned by Mr. Zamora”

His smile slowly faded as she hadn’t realized he’d meant it in fun. Instead, she seemed to have taken it seriously, even asking if it bothered him. So, he adapted his own expression to match her mien. “No,” he clarified. He'd not intended for her to get that idea. If anything, he preferred her directness. But there was no denying that he’d found humor in her telling him to strip first thing after he'd stepped through her door. But perhaps it was better to see things in a strictly professional light and focus on the mission ahead. He lifted his chin slightly at her response regarding her night. Uneventful wasn’t exactly how he’d categorize the night as a whole, but he was happy to hear that she’d felt well once he’d left. It was all he needed to hear. And despite wanting to ask about the kiss, he deemed it better to wait for a more appropriate time, not having a way of telling how she'd react if he initiated such conversation.

He had thought there was a chance that she wouldn’t be able to upkeep the glamour, and in all truth, he felt bad for her having to continuously give up blood or whatever the necessary price for her magic throughout their trip. After all, she wasn’t getting paid for any of it. Quite the contrary. She put herself at risk for coming along. Especially on the mission tonight. It could end very badly if they made the smallest mistake. However, if she was willing to do this, it meant that he needn’t worry about them discovering his identity. And he'd started to grow fond of that idea. Because it meant that the ones around him wouldn't be victims of another plot of revenge. And if he could minimize the risk of that by any amount, then it was worth it to him. His gaze caught hers as she looked over her shoulder. “I understand,” he replied, not thinking it’d be a problem to avoid an attack on his upper back.

He arched an inquisitive brow as she said she’d found something interesting. He then walked closer to the edge of the bed to sit down. He took the document into his hand and scanned it as she filled him in on what she’d found. He was frankly surprised to hear she’d deduced two of the addresses to be warded with magic, glancing briefly up at this, wondering how she’d figured that out. He looked back down as she pointed to an address by the shoreline. His mind already contemplating an approach regarding this because there was a good chance of finding Zamora there. He raised his gaze to her as she continued, stating that the last address was partially faked. Located in Gaia of all places. “Where in Gaia?” he asked, thinking that he might know what it could be. If not, he’d send someone to check it out in the meantime, but he needed something more specific first.

Observing the angel’s visage Saga noticed small signs of ponder, at first thinking to herself what kind of thought that ran through his head, half expecting him to speak up about them, but it remained thoughts which he seemingly didn’t deem important enough to share with her. And by that she had to deem them as such as well. She trusted him to trust her enough to not bottle or keep things from her. At least not things that would have anything to do with what they were doing in Havana. Specifically the incoming evening. Where? “Just outside of Southside in the direction of Oakheart,” she further explained, leaving him with the document to look over and stepped round the corner of the bed. “I noticed the address when you first showed them too me and originally I anticipating it to be in the southwestern parts where those abandoned warehouses are but the address is to a smaller storage area farther outside the outskirts.” She calmly crawled onto the bed, making the soft mattress slant slightly to the shifting of the weight as she, on her knees, walked closer to Michael, ultimately settling down on her calves behind him, her eyes scouting the exposed part of his upper back, neck and shoulder for a preferable placement for the spells she was about to attach to him.

One last time, she scooched a little  closer and rose straight-back to properly stand on her knees instead, finding that height much better. She reached a hand out and gently pulled the shirt just a tad bit more down, running a finger around the edges to one side to so it didn’t hook on the curves of his defined shoulder. “How was your night then? Did you perhaps return to the casino after saying goodnight?” she asked as she glided her hand up from the back of his neck and up into his hairline to push it, as well as his head, slightly back to stretch out the skin some more, her thumbing smoothing over a spot near the nape of his neck, feeling the very faint vibrations of the powerful and holy being which Michael in and of himself was. There was no doubt. She remembered having sensed the same thing back when she had worked on the markings on his chest.
Then twisting the soft grip of the pen, she had taken from the work desk, with one hand to bring out the pen part itself she leaned even more in. Her torso just about not touching his back while she drew the first, experiences strokes. These symbols, circles, runes or what had she didn’t have to be drawn with blood. Or specialized ink. It was what she preferred and she was in possession of both but it wasn’t always the optimal choice. Quality pen ink should do the job just as they needed it to.

The first symbol was a circled sigil, not larger than a quarter however with the thin point of the pen she had been able to draw quite the details. The other symbol was much more simple and had been drawn on top of the upper part of his spine. None of them looked like much and they weren’t much. Yet. She placed the pen behind an ear to have both hands free as she started the weaving. There was possibly easier and quicker ways for a similar result but by having him come by as early as he had, it gave her time to be more thorough and to create more stable spells. That’s where the weaving came to place. It was a method wide spread in the European regions. Closely related to the same magic which Michael’s tattoo was composed of, actually. The angel would be able to feel a warmth and had he been able to see behind his back he’d have been able to see the strings of glow which she pulled between the two symbols. Both symbols seemed to get more attached to his skin and the details and lines became more sharp as if they hadn’t been drawn by hand. However, the warmth wasn’t necessarily a pleasant one. It would be very local to where the symbols were placed and where the magic was directed. Instead of a warm blanket it was like the prickling of ice cold hands under running water from the warm tap. Still, it was nothing compared to being continuously being stabbed with a hollowed and inked-filled needle

Michael certainly hoped that the address in Gaia didn't mean that the drug had reached Europe, but rather that it was regarding something else. Nevertheless, it had to be checked out for that slight possibility that it was connected to the operation. He reached for a phone in his front pocket and took a photograph of the address. He then wrote a message and sent it to one of the angels who'd been in Cuba the preceding week. “You’d think it’d be an address to another country in America, but Gaia… Maybe their operation is wider spread than we thought,” he said as he placed the phone back. It was far more common to distribute such things to closer markets first. But he was still fairly certain that this was where the main operation was situated, and hence that if they took this down, it would break the link to everything else. His thumb ran across the last address of the list. He wasn’t all that invested in drug trafficking, although he disapproved highly of it. But this drug was a particularly dangerous one. And knowing Zamora, he undoubtedly had ambitions to corrupt as many humans as possible with these sins. Expanding his business to the rest of the world if no one stopped him.

He looked up from the document when she asked him a question, focusing his gaze on the wall ahead as not to move too much. “No. I went to my room to research the findings from the office. I don’t think I’d found much better information by asking around in the casino,” he replied, then lowering his head as her hand pushed it forward. “There wasn’t anything in the documents that hinted to be regarding the drug specifically. However, I did notice that they’ve exchanged many transactions with a rum distillery in Louisiana.” It was odd considering that Cuba already had plenty of sugar cane farms and distilleries they could work with. “I found that they were connected to a production facility on the island. I believe this to be one of the heavily warded addresses. I've also reason to believe that today’s shipment will lead us to it. According to the shipment slip, they’re receiving components for a machine.” Even though there was a slim chance of it leading them towards something else, their findings so far were certainly on the right track. And regardless, they’d made an impressive amount of progress already, so with any luck they'd be over and done with it before the weekend.
It was first when she was done drawing the symbols, and started her magic, that he tensed his muscles. The first sensation of the weaving felt surprisingly warm. Almost as if she was burning or stabbing the lines of the symbol into his skin, but it wasn’t particularly painful. He stayed silent like her, mostly because she wasn't telling him anything regarding what she was doing, so he figured it was better not to distract her focus from the magic.

It was by purely reflex that she glanced over his shoulder to get a glimpse of his phone, checking to see what kind of model he was using rather than spying on his text, which she didn’t even take note of.
“It certainly worried me when I made the discovery. However it won’t surprise me,” Saga, pretty calmly commented. Something she for certain had come to know since she had arrived and settled in the country was how quite a lot of supernatural crime was pulling threads towards Gaia in some way or another. And this drug being very much along those lines it was almost a given. “Remember how I believed I’d come across something similar last year. Back then I only heard of it that one time, from a close friend, and then… nothing. The area of the address isn’t big enough for larger shipments or distribution. Yet. But big enough for a discreet and small testing.” It was for the same reason that she somewhat doubted that that specific time had anything to do with the same drug, they were looking into at the moment. The active period had been so short. But there were few parts that matched up.

When he mentioned how he had stayed in his room, she could do nothing but agree to his assumptions. Her time in the casino on her own hadn’t given her the impression that it was a place for collecting any more information than they already had. Zamora wasn’t present at the hotel, as far as she had found out and then even if he was, what would the chances be that he’d hang out in the casino? She had searched him up, trying to find small snippets about the demon online to little luck - personal information like this wasn’t exactly public even for those knowing where to look, no, to get to know the man one would have to hear about it through talking mouth like how the little witch usually got her hand on what she knew about people in the underground scene - he’d seemed like the kind of man who’d play private games for the enjoyment while the people getting pulled to the casino was those seeking to win the big prizes.
“Hm?” She shortly stopped the weaving, looking up from it while keeping her hands still to not disturb the threads of magic. Of course, all she could look at was the back of his head and not find answers in his face. “Rum? The island of Cuba is known for their own rum production so why would they need to cooperate with distilleries in the United States? Can it have something to do with distribution as well?” she asked as she tilted her head from shoulder to shoulder to loosen up a knot in her neck and then returned to the weaving. A thin thought ran through her head at the time, not being allowed a presence in the foreground do to her needing to still concentrate on the spell but… she could somehow still sense a phantom taste of the sweet cherry and diluted rum from the night before.

As Saga came closer and closer to be able to tie the ends of the spells, the glamour also began to make its appearance. It was the same effect of had she given him some enchanted item to hold - it being a more risky approach considering how the archangel  probably would be moving around quite a lot. It wasn’t anything that physically morphed his body. It was a veil of magical deception. In some way it was an illusion. A projector screen covering him skintight, projecting another image. The image slowly, but surely started showing a man of similar height, but his skin was very sun-kissed like the many long term tourists she had seen by the beach the other day. His captivating valley green eyes were now muddy, though still as expressive and while the jawline was still sharp his face in whole now looked much longer and slimmer to other people looking at him. He looked less and less like himself. His clothing remain the same as his actual attire. That way the cloaking wouldn’t seem odd when he’d reach into pockets or the likes.

He frowned briefly, wondering what about it that she deemed similar. It puzzled him to think she’d in any way know that it was a sin-inducing drug and not just another substance. Or simply the wicked behavior of the many unholy creatures living in Gaia. But then again, who knew who her friend was. Or what the person had said exactly. He didn't take Saga for the type to be a frequent nightclub-goer or even to have any interest in the drug business, however, so the little snippet of knowledge surprised him. However, he figured it was best to question her about it once they'd actually confirmed what the address in Gaia was about. Perhaps this friend could aid them should it turn out to be anything related to the demons.
It's certainly a possibility.” From the glances he'd taken of their transactions, it seemed that the distillery helped them with more than just a simple supply to the hotel. And if they helped with the distribution of drugs, it could very well be in multiple countries by now.

Once the burning sensation faded away, he placed the documents beside him on the bed, waiting for a few moments to make sure that she was done. But as he felt her moving behind him, he rose to his feet and pulled the shirt back over his shoulders. He started buttoning it, noticing the tan he’d gotten on the back of his hands. He then walked towards the full-length mirror near the entrance to get a better look at his new appearance. He grabbed his tie on the way, placing it around his neck and slowly tying it as he stared at himself, a man so unrecognizable that he could’ve probably fooled anyone if they weren’t familiar with his voice. “All right. Mr. James Buchanan.” He leaned slightly closer to his reflection, running a hand down his cheek. Looking into those foreign eyes. It was strange to see yourself look like someone else. He’d tried a few glamours in the past, but she’d hit the nail on a rich, well-traveled businessman. He then straightened himself and turned to face Saga. “It looks great. Those demons are not going to know what hit them.” The corner of his mouth turned briefly upwards. He couldn't wait to see their reactions.

He glanced down her attire and stopped at her bare legs. “You should probably get changed before we head out.” He assumed she'd already planned to do this, but it was more of a cue for her to do it soon. Now that the spells were in order, nothing was keeping them from moving forward with tonight's agenda. And he hoped to get a bit of time to scope out the place in case of something unforeseen. It would be a shame to see the demons drive off into the distance before they'd gotten a hold of them. He looked at his wristwatch before he reached the desk to pick up his blade and put it back. He'd given her a weapon as well wasn't it for the fact that magic would be her best bet in most scenarios.

Saga enjoyed the sensation of active magic running through her fingers and further up her arms and all out through her body so much that she easily could’ve continued to weave and perfect the glamour without thinking much of it. As if she had fallen into the flow of it. The conversation they kept having, however, did a good job at holding her present to the time and the act at hand. His glamour didn’t need to be more foolproof than it already was and she didn’t need to invest more energy or magic in it than was necessary. So, she knotted the spell, carefully and tightly so to not risk any kind of complications. Breaking the connecting threads between the two spells wouldn’t end the effects of either of the spells but it would potentially throw the her focus and concentration of up-keeping the glamour off.
As she finished, there were no threads of any kind visible. Only his bare, imperfection-free skin between the two symbols. And she pulled her hands away and let herself fall calmly back down on her calves as he rose from the bed. “While the spell will disappear if the symbol is being broken in any way, damaging the space between the two spells won’t do anything. The connection is not physical in any way,” she decided to explain, as she watch him get dressed and watched him appreciate the glamour she had chosen for him. A success. But she hadn’t been worried about that, since he trusted in her so really, would he have had any excuse to complain? She crawled over to instead sit on the edge of the bed.
“Hopefully not.” It wasn’t much but the smirk he presented to her as she turned his front back towards her after admiring his new appearance did rub off on her, making her lips pull a smile. A proud one. A self-assured one. It was fascinating; how he looked completely different from his usual self, his featured should even be moving slightly differently due to the illusion of a different bone structure and still she could just about recognize his signature expressions. That smirk and that glimmer in the eye - however muddy now.

What? The surprise swept over her face and her eyes automatically followed his gaze down to her legs, only it didn’t give her much more clarity. Wasn’t she already dressed probably? Was it a problem for her legs to be bare like that? Subconsciously, she lifted one leg up and stretched it out while examining it. Her attire was probably not something that completely matched the attire that he was sporting. Him, standing there as the very image of a businessman in his suit while she tilted more towards someone on vacation, someone dressed more casual. But it was perfectly movable. More than a dress or dress pants would.
She let down her leg again and stood from the bed in a connected movement and she let out a slight sigh as well. “Is there something wrong with what I’m wearing at the moment?” she then asked, resting her eyes upon him for a little while as she walked to her suitcase and squatted down, focusing her gaze on the content of the case instead of the archangel. Quickly pushing a lock of hair behind her ear so it didn’t fall to tickle her face, she rummaged through the top layer of clothing. There wasn’t much. But someone who could alter her wardrobe by the flick of her finger if it came to be crucial, she didn’t actually need much.

He kept his eyes fixed at her leg as she stretched it out, anticipating her to agree with him. Instead, she asked him what was wrong with her current outfit, having his eyes dart up to meet hers. He hadn’t meant to offend her, but there was plenty of reason why her current outfit was inappropriate for the mission ahead. Firstly, the light colors and the casual style would attract unwanted attention. She’d either need to wear business attire or the outfit of a harbor-worker to oppose that. Secondly, the bare skin posed a greater risk of injuries and just overall felt too revealing to him. He glanced down her outfit once more. It plainly wasn't practical. He followed her movements to the suitcase, tilting his head slightly to the side. “I’d preferred it if you wore something a bit more... disguised.” She'd undoubtedly stand out in her current outfit, but as most things went, he had a tendency to overthink them. In reality, this probably made little of a difference. With his own disguise, people might not even pay much attention to them. Something he simply wasn't used to. “But don't bother.” He stepped closer to her, preferring them to get going since she hadn't already intended to change outfits. “I'm sure it'll be fine.” He stopped within an arm's length of her, and once she turned towards him, he placed a hand on her shoulder and closed his eyes, teleporting them to Havana's industry harbor.

Michael let go of his grip around her shoulder as he opened his eyes. They'd arrived in the shadows of two brick buildings with nothing but dumpsters and broken asphalt between them. He started to walk towards the end of it, the maze of containers appearing in front of him. He looked up at one of the cranes to locate where they were. The container was said to be ready for transport at lot five which meant they had to walk much closer to the water. He looked to the side to check for people, but before he went out into the open he glanced to Saga, making sure that she was with him. “Stay close to me.” He walked straight ahead in a narrow row between containers before eventually turning left, guiding the way through the container maze as to avoid the main roads. In the meantime he listened in for surrounding conversations, both to ensure that nobody suspected them of trespassing and to see if he could hear anything related to the shipment.

Recibiste tu bonificación por el trabajo de anoche?
Si, no es así? Le dije al jefe que ibas a ser mi conductor. Debe haberlo olvidado.
Michael stopped as he reached the sight of a demon and a human, quickly leaning against the nearest container to remain out of sight. The space in front of them was vastly more open, leaving them to discover them the moment they stepped out. He then heard a woman approaching them, saying that the truck was ready to be loaded. Another demon. Michael gave Saga a brief look, another way of saying that he was going in. Only expecting her to join him once she deemed it necessary. He stepped out and approached the three demons. “Not so quickly.” The two guys who'd walked towards the container turned around, one of them reaching for his gun to aim it at Michael. “Quién eres tú?” The guy asked as he eyed the angel. It wasn't so obvious from his looks who he was. And had he belonged to a rivaling cartel, he'd most likely not worn a suit. Not unless he was higher up in the hierarchy. He smirked as he looked from the demon to the gun in his hand. However, it quickly vanished as he looked at the female demon nearing him. Wanting her to keep her distance. “I just want to talk.” Now, truly, that was his intention. But he also knew well of people in their line of work. And that the chances of them spilling any information were slim. However, it was always worth a shot. He stepped closer to the demon as he noticed he'd lowered his gun slightly. “Give me the address to the factory you're taking those goods to,” he pointed at the door to the container they had been about to open, then returning his attention to the guys scoffing at his request. “That's not going to happen,” the demon said. Michael raised his hand and yanked the gun out of his hand with a gust of wind, then walking up to push him against the harsh metal of the container. His lower arm holding him in place. “Déjame preguntarte de nuevo. Donde esta la direccion?” he asked in an accent much closer to that of Spain, giving the guy a second chance to be cooperative.

‘Something a bit more disguised’ was a very broad as well as vague explanation to have her work with, so it was with not only surprise but also a sliver of relief, when he waved it off shortly thereafter. She could still hear a sense of the held-back preference in his voice, how if he hadn’t somehow let his train of through convince him otherwise, he’d had wanted to perfect the scenario and probably had her dress differently. Men like Michael was quite meticulous, she had come to realize over the years and she had a strong suspicion that the archangel was, in fact, a part of said group of people already before they had had the pleasure of meeting. She stopped going through her suitcase and instead look up at him, finding him not even a full step away from her and she gently closed the case again before standing up with a affirming gesture of sorts. Not quite a full nod, more a feeling in the air around her.
However, she hadn’t expected them to be on their way as quickly as it turned out. The little witch had barely turned her attention back towards him, when she felt his hand on her shoulder and… they were off.

While she should be - and in a way also was more used to his way of teleportation than she had been when they had first travelled from Oakheart the day before, the suddenness of it caught her in a staggering when they arrived by the harbour. He moved his hand but in a reflective reaction, she had reached out and grabbed it in a way to steady herself for just a moment. She greatly favoured teleportation the way she herself had mastered. And who would have thought that there’d even be such a difference? Luckily, it didn’t take her more than that moment to have collected herself and as soon as she let go of him again, there were no signs of any other dizziness or discomfort had even happened. Instead, she followed his gaze upwards, trying to figure out what he might be scanning for. The sky was orange and slowly turning more and more purple as the Cuban burning sun was on its way down from peaking those few hours earlier. She noticed the crane, but didn’t take the same note of it, so her eyes returned to Michael shortly after to study his concentrated face. And to catch his gaze the moment it came back down to her. And after a faint nod, she did just that; followed close behind him. Stealing a fleeting glance behind her just before venturing the labyrinth.

Abruptly they stopped. And while Saga didn’t have the same view of the people, she could hear them talking. Not that it helped much other than informing her of their presence, since she didn’t understand a word of what was said. She had just been about to lean to get a look at who they were dealing with, when she noticed Michael looking at her, making her halt her movement just as he moved in. This had her push her back right back up against the cold, hollow metal of the container. Staying in the shadow. Her attire might be easier spotted than had she been dressed in darker blues to match the shade, but her small frame did a lot for her to not to stand out. Her head was turned as far to the side, as her neck allowed it, so she could watch along. Again, she didn’t have the best over view but she could listen. And listen she did.
Talk? It truly occurred to her, how little she knew of the plan of action that she’d guess the archangel had stored and planned in his head. She had simply gone with him on a whim. She saw a gun fly a short distance and then slide over the ground and then she heard the sound of a body colliding with another container which had her suck her stomach tighter. Not letting any unnecessary sound out. It was at the same time, where she sense a very soft disturbance in the air near her and she looked up. Smoke-like tails were just about visible from her view point, revealing the location of… someone. It wasn’t smoke, she saw. It was manipulated shadow. Non-physical matter than turned solid, and she would skim the upper outline of a person’s head. Someone who had materialised on top of the container, she used as a cover. But it quickly turned out to be the less of her worries, when she, out of the corner of her eye, saw the other of the two demons pull something from the ground.

The gun. The moment she turned to look back to the scene of the disguised Michael and three - now four - enemies, her eyes landed on the female having picked up the dis-armed gun and held it in the direction of Michael’s back. There wasn’t any real hesitation in that moment. In a shift movement, the little witch had squatted down, back still up against the container, and she placed both of palms flat onto the ground. Pulling blood would be a risk. The scent would be caught to reveal her eventually. Broesis…She pushed her palms down as strain tensed her body. Magic wasn’t impossible without the symbols or the blood, it just required less energy. But surely she had plenty of that to work with for now. ..intdium. Qubeo caeleyodnia, she continued, whispered the chanting as silently as she could to not attract unwanted attention. And her intense eye were darted directly at the area behind the female demon, who at that point had her finger right on the trigger.
It must have felt like out of nowhere for the demon, when the gravity suddenly changed around her. With an immense force, the demon was pulled down onto her knees, with such a strength that might have been able to crack the knee-caps on the hard concrete had she been less robustly built. The demon groaned horribly and by sheer reflex, her finger had pulled the trigger of the gun but with the gravity having pulled her outstretched arms down as well, the shot went completely off. Hitting the container, where Michael held the other demon pressed up against, but far too much to the side and far too low to even be close to hitting its original target.

The demon groaned in pain at the initial impact of the uneven metal against his back, writhing to get free of the hold, but stopped when the resistance only made the man push him harder into the container. Michael lowered his head, patiently waiting for his response. He knew that he’d get to the location no matter the actions of these people but it was always easier and less painful for them if they cooperated. In the corner of his eye he sensed the human approach him, prompting Michael to raise his hand to stop the incoming knife attack. He quickly grabbed his wrist, the blade cutting a small gash into Michael's forearm, then slowly turning his head to face the human. He tightened his grip before twisting his arm into an unnatural position. A scream of pain echoed at this, but instead of letting him go, he moved his hand up to his head and smashed it into the container, making the human fall unconscious to the ground. “I—I don’t know what you’ve heard or who you think you are.” The guy took in a shaky breath, wavering from the eyes of the stranger to Maria, the female demon, noticing that she’d picked up his gun. “But we’re just delivering components to the factory,” he returned his eyes to the stranger. In truth, there was something far more valuable in the container. “I don’t know what information you seek to find there, but our boss has his office elsewhere, and he’s on the island, so maybe we can come to some agreement where I arrange a meeting for you two… and then you can settle whatever dispute it is that you have,” he stalled, anticipating Maria to shoot any moment, not having the intention of helping the man with anything. But to his surprise, Maria swiftly got forced to her knees by an unnatural force. The fear of this encounter settling more and more in. The next second a bullet was fired, however, it hit the shipping container, doing little to help weaken the stranger.

Michael didn’t flinch at the gunshot, having already considered the possibility of getting shot. But what had him turn his attention, was that it stemmed from Saga’s interference. Intending to check on her. And that’s when he noticed the third demon on top of the container. But as far as he could tell, they hadn’t discovered Saga, so he decided to presume the confrontation with the first demon. “Hm, so you can plan an ambush on me?” he commented on his initial proposal, even if it might've been a lie. But Michael wasn’t an idiot. He wouldn't agree to something like that. Not with the number of demons working under Lorenzo Zamora. “Now, answer my question. Or I’ll simply break open that container and ruin the goods. And your boss will know you screwed up, but giving me the address won't. It isn't like I'm going to tell on him.” A faint smirk appeared on his lips. He knew the demon, and he’d most definitely punish them for failing him in this manner. Giving him the address couldn't be directly tied to them, however. They could have gotten that information from others.

The shadow demon jumped down from the container to approach the stranger but stopped when he sensed something. Someone. He turned his head to the shadows between two containers, seeing a dark-haired woman. He'd initially thought the man had been responsible for what had happened to Maria, but this made much more sense. There was only about a second of eye contact before the shadows surrounding her came to life and threw her into the open area in front of him. Not wanting her to have gotten the first chance of an attack. “Mira a quien tenemos aqui.” A smile showed on his face as he looked at her, not thinking the two of them stood a chance against three demons. Before she got to stand he kicked her further along the ground, scratching those bare legs of hers severely. The direction of the kick getting her closer to the edge of the harbor and the deep blue water.

Saga wanted the demon all the way down into the dirt. All the way down on her stomach. But she was much stronger than she looked and the struggle was in of itself rather impressive. How she more or less stayed on knees and hands like a tensed-back feline on all four. However, it demanded her concentration to keep the spell going and more so, had she decided to force more into it. She could easily make the spell stronger.

The shadowy figure jumped from his vantage point, pulling flurries of smoky cloud like mist with him. She looked up from the direction of the kneeling demon, expecting to be met with the backside of a at least halfway solidified person. Instead she met with his eyes, looking straight at her. A hidden and mostly silent gasp came over her immediately as she realised that she had been spotted. In reality this had only been a question of when and not if, but still this seemed like it happened too soon. And yet she didn’t sway from the gravity spell. Not until she caught unexpected movement from beside her. There was very little, if any at all, that she wouldn’t been able to do before the shadows closed in around her and she felt herself getting thrown through the air. The landing was hard, but not nearly enough to overwhelm her. Albeit the spell she had held to keep the female demon from moving much, had been dispersed. But it was also the only active spell that did that. The glamour was still intact! And currently, that might be the most important thing for her to not falter on. "James!"
She didn’t get to look probably up before the demon came at her again, although she did get to sense his movement towards her as she instead caught a quick glance towards Michael. It was a bit of a mix of reflexes and calculated motion when she, just in time for the kick, lifted her arms just high enough for his foot to land on the block rather than make a direct hit against her body. He was still awfully strong, though, and she grimaced painfully as she slid over the gritty ground. “Arh hhg..” Breathing sharply out when she finally came to a stop and finally looked up to meet with the demons eyes once again. Not giving the closeness of the ocean much thought. She wasn’t afraid of being near it, after all.

Both her shins were scraped and raw - one more than the other. One having been scraped deep enough for blood to run down her leg. There was very little hesitation before she had moved a hand down and whipped the blood up with a thumb, which then got dragged in a long line up through the underside of her opposite arm, all the way down from the centre of her palm. Her lips were moving faintly but no actually sound came from them. That was then the moment where she held the hand towards the demon and.. snapped her fingers.
Flames ignited from the exact same place, where his foot had made contact with her and with the roaring of fire it spread further up his leg. The little witch, like her opponent, didn’t waste time with groaning over the stinging sensation in her legs, all the wounds were mere surface ones and in no way made her immobilised, so within seconds she had stood up and simply started running straight towards the demon, hopefully still, on fire. And she jumped him. She didn’t weigh a ton but with the missing balance of being partially on fire and the momentum should make him fall over. All she needed was to get to his neck. Or his forehead. And she’d be superior even without any of the physical strength.

The demon widened his eyes in horror at the mention of him destroying the goods. “No, please.” His mind quickly tried to search for some truth that’d let him be satisfied without revealing too much. Michael gave him a look of impatience before he gripped his neck and raised his body off the concrete, increasing his stress and discomfort. The demon gasped and attempted to fight against the grip by grabbing both his hands around the stranger’s wrist, but to no use. This meant he was either an angel or a vampire, if not just someone with extraordinary strength. “All right. I’ll tell you. If you’ll just let us load the truck, we won’t stop you from following us,” he said in a compromised voice due to the blockage of his airways. At the factory, there’d be others like them. And then they’d be able to kill them both. Besides, he’d seen enough of this man to know that he’d not hesitate to do as threatened. So, he figured this was the best he could offer.

James!
Michael averted his gaze from the demon to look towards Saga on the ground. But before he could do anything about it, he was jumped by the female demon she’d kept under control just moments prior. He groaned loudly as she stabbed a knife into his side and eventually he let go of the demon and took a few steps back between the two containers to distance himself from his attackers. “Woah now. We were just getting somewhere.” He held up a hand while the other grabbed the shaft of the knife to pull it out. The pain quickly diminishing as the wound healed. “I agree to your terms,” he said, his gaze staying primarily at the male demon who’d offered it. But all he was met with was a smirk from both of them. And despite how easy it'd be for him to knock them out, it wouldn't help the slightest in what he tried to accomplish, so he kept backing up, trying to think of a better approach.

The shadow demon looked down at his foot as it was ignited with fire. “Hijo de puta!” He shook his leg but it just seemed to make the fire worse so he looked to the side, relying on the support of his shadows, but when he looked back at the witch she was right there. He fell back to the ground at her attack and tried to hook his burning leg around her to make her feel the fire as well, fighting off her hands from touching him as he didn't want another spell to be cast. He glanced to the ocean behind her and it had never looked more tempting. So, he used his shadows to throw them both into it. And once the water hit him, and his leg cooled down, he sighed in relief and swam towards the edge to climb back up on the surface to help his fellow demons. Because once the other guy was down, they'd easily handle the witch.

“Ay pobrecita, the tanorexic don’t seem like he understand the situation he’s in,” was the first words that left the female demon beside the pained groaned Saga had managed to force out of her a few moment ago. The hand that had held and stabbed the knife into Michael had traces of his red blood, which she whipped off in her shirt without really taking her eyes off of him, much like her demonic partner at her side. It was barely noticeable, since she made a great effort to hide it, but she wasn’t supporting probably on one of her legs. The one knee having taken a bigger hit than the other one when gravity had thrown her to the hard ground. But it was nothing. She couldn’t even feel it. Lie. But as the commotion from the other part of the harbour area became to heighten, the demon couldn’t contain her curiosity and looked to what was giving their forth partner so much trouble..
And she saw the dark-haired witch jump him. What?! That little girl?! And even more attention got pulled away from the largest threat standing right in front of them. Backed up, yes, but the man had taken the knife as if it was nothing.

With her hands planted onto the soul demons shoulders as well as a bended leg and knee upon his chest, Saga exploited his compromised centre of balance and landed firmly on top of him, much to the displeasure of the demon himself. She could see it in his face. The scrunched expression. And the strain which also appeared on her own face as he didn’t give her any openings to make contact. Her brows were furrowed in laboured concentration. It was all she needed. She could make it quick. She could feel the burning sensation of the fire against the back of her upper thigh and she wished to scream. She almost did if it hadn’t been for the sudden change. Change of scenery. Change of atmosphere. Change of visibility.

It was really rather particular. Her body reacted to the submerging instantly although the mind didn’t quite register what was happening for the first couple of seconds. Water shallowed her. Surround her head with absolutely no warning. Whatever she was holding onto - herself, the demon.. - she let go. Even the slightest bit of magic. In less than a blink of the eye, she lost every little thread she was holding onto and on the surface the glamour that had kept Michael disguised faded away like it had glimmered and taken form when she first had placed the spell.
Then as the mind caught up the panic sat in. And it was far from merciful to her. Fear, pure and unveiled and almost child-like fear dominated her face and it surged all through to her fingertips and toes. It weighed her down and no matter how much her arms and legs began to wave and paddle, she only sank lower and lower toward the ocean bottom. She couldn’t breathe! She had lost all air in her lunges the exact moment she had fallen under water so where there would’ve been splashes hadn’t she been too far from the surface from the beginning, there was only bubbles emerging. The only sign of where she was. And those bubbles quickly became less and less as water filled her lunges instead. She had tried, she really had, to not breath in, even grabbed her throat as if choking herself would stop it from happening. But she was nothing under water.
The worst part was, however, how she could still somewhat see the surface. She could see the afternoon sunlight, but she kept getting farther and farther away from it. All the while her mind was a blur of what it used to be. The demon had left her focus like everything else.

The demon’s demeanor changed the instant he was released, but when Maria added the comment about the situation, it was clear to see that he still considered the offer. There was a hesitation in his movements and a concern in his eyes. Something that stemmed from the fact that there would be consequences of not complying. Besides, there was no way to predict how this would go. Or what else their foe was capable of. However, with Maria pointing the gun at him, he figured they’d be able to cripple him enough to trap him, and then they'd be able to secure the goods and bring them to the factory. As was their task. With a supernatural speed, surpassing that of a vampire, he tackled him to the ground and into a container behind him. And within milliseconds he again stood beside Maria, making James’ attempt to grab him futile.

Michael hadn’t expected the lightning speed from the demon, mostly because it meant he'd been lucky to get a grip of him the first time around. His fingers had barely grazed his shirt before he’d disappeared. He hadn't even been able to make another move before his chest got pierced by two .45 ACP bullets, making him wince in pain. The loud shots ringing in his ears. He straightened his back against the metal as a shield of light surrounded him. It wasn't in time to deflect the third bullet to his shoulder, but it did protect him against the following shot. Once the shield was established, he placed a hand against his chest where blood had soaked his white shirt. And that’s when he noticed that he'd lost the tan. He raised his gaze to meet the demons, both of them looking near paralyzed at the sight of his changed appearance. But he was far more concerned as to why this had happened. In the background, he noticed the shadow demon, dripping wet and limping on one leg as he approached the others. Michael teleported to the open area at this, the shield now surrounding all three demons so they wouldn't be able to reach him. He frantically scanned the land for any sign of Saga but found none.

His gaze lastly stopped at the ocean, noticing a small area where bubbles emerged to the surface. With no hesitation, he ran the remaining distance to the edge and dove in. The shield fading away at the same moment. He used his water manipulation to reach her faster, feeling guilty for not having registered that she’d fallen in and for leaving her out of his sight for as long as he had. Once he'd reached her, he wrapped his arms around her unconscious body and held her close to him. Simultaneously manifesting a strong stream underneath them to get them back to the surface. He inhaled a deep breath when they broke through, adjusting his arm around her neck to make sure her head was kept above water while he swam towards the edge. He climbed up, relieved to see that the demons were gone, so he laid her gently on the ground, knowing that he could focus his full attention on helping her. He placed two fingers against her neck to feel for her pulse. It wasn’t strong but there, which was all he could've hoped for. He then leaned down to her face and listened for her breathing. When he didn't register it, he placed a hand on her forehead, tilting her head back while using his fingers to carefully lift her chin upward. He then moved the hand from her forehead to her nose to pinch her nostrils before he covered her mouth with his, gently breathing into her mouth. He then pulled back and looked up, trying to see if anyone had neared the scene, but just as before there was no one. The demons had fled and the only activity he could sense was by a terminal further away. After five seconds had passed, he leaned in to give her a second breath, praying to God that she'd wake up once a few of these were given. Most people did, but he'd also seen cases where they didn't. It all depended on how quickly someone had come to their rescue. And frankly, the unsettling feeling inside of him only got worse every passing second of her not breathing.

She was so scared. Even in the utter chaos that was surrounding her together with the water, she was hyperaware of that one fact; that she was scared. And it was the kind of scared that she has absolutely no control over which only frightened her more. It was the kind of scared that made so sense when spoken about. It was the irrational kind. The choking and incapacitating kind. She felt the fear all the way until her brain shot off and left her to sink further in unconsciousness. She even sank fast after the desperate flailing had stopped and her body just seemed to hover in the salty ocean, however she was still descending to the bottom. A place she never actually reached before strong arms caught her and soon thereafter, had she still been just a little bit awake, she’d have felt the artificial current in her loose hair as she was brought back up with the speed of a hydro-fuelled motor. But sadly, she felt or noticed nothing.
She was limp, especially after breaking the surface and Michael getting them both completely out of the water and up on dry land. Her eyes were closed and her lips slightly parted and she might as well have been sleeping. Peaceful. If not for the diminishing colour in her already naturally pale face.

Lying unconscious and nearly non-breathing, the little witch didn’t have any way of opposing to what followed. Not that she would have, had she somehow been aware. He was saving her! By the first blow of air, made her humble chest area raise noticeably, but she remained still. The second one did the same. Chest raising up and down as her lunges got filled. Again with the third time, but suddenly, only just as he had started pulling back from her, did the limp body spasmed as water finally found its way out of her lunges and immediately after she started coughing and moving around as consciousness returned.
Instinctively, Saga started to sit up as soon as this happened, to not get even more choked. She got up halfway before twisting her upper body in the direction of Michael where she continued coughing horribly and heaving for air, not actually noticing that he was there. No. Turning toward his side was, her body taking over her mind in the weakened state and searched for whatever comfort that was nearby. It was the same part of her that also reached out towards him and tightly grabbed the soaked fabric of his shirt. Or suit jacket. She couldn’t tell and frankly, she didn’t care. She simply needed that anchor, that support, and even though she was far from the strongest, her grip in that moment was indeed strong and persistent. And it shook ever so faint. Just like the rest of her body.

It took awhile but eventually the coughing calmed down, as well as her breathing turning into deeper inhales and exhales. And finally, she lifted her head to look up at the angel. She already know how the fright would still be very apparent in her face and in her eyes and yet she didn’t chose to hide it away from him. She felt the fright far less now that she was out of the water but the aftereffect was still there. Both on the outer side of her, but also on the inner. She shallowed. Then spoke. “The demons…?” she questioned with a bit meeker voice. She had been screaming, just under water. Carefully she turned her head more around to look around the now very… empty harbour only to turn back to Michael. Had they gotten away? Had he eliminated them? What about the soul demon? Had he drowned like she nearly had? He was dripping wet. Salty drops keep dripping from his chin and blonde hair, that now looked a tone darker. Her gaze fell further over him till she came to the hand that was still crampingly holding on to him and she… then leaned forward. Planning her forehead against his chest just above where she held firmly. Almost curling up into a ball. She had been so scared..

A rush of relief washed over him the moment her body moved. He removed his hands from her body and leaned slightly back, observing her as she returned to consciousness. He didn’t move much apart from that, and even if he’d intended to, he didn't get a chance before she grasped a hold of his shirt, despite how much the soaked fabric clung to his body. “It’s okay, I’m right here.” He placed a hand above the one that had grabbed him, hoping his aura and warmth would help calm her. His fingers gently wrapped around her hand, feeling how much it was shaking. He had never seen her like this, and frankly, he didn’t even know what had happened. He could only presume that she’d been knocked unconscious and thrown in by the demon, but that didn’t explain why he had been soaked as well. Not that the circumstances mattered much. All that mattered was that he had saved her, knowing that he wouldn't have been able to forgive himself if he hadn't.

He shook his head lightly at her first words being about the demons. It was the last thing she should worry about right now. “They escaped.” He couldn’t quite hide the defeated tone in his voice, even though he tried not to think about that detail. He looked over his shoulder, towards the container that the goods had been in. “And they recognized me once the glamour faded away,” he added as he returned his gaze to her. “So, we will need to find some other place to stay from now on.” Naturally, this was a bad turn of events. From what he’d seen, there were far more demons than the number his angels had given him. And they’d no longer be as safe walking around the island. Not when every one of Zamora’s men would be looking for them. But he couldn’t really focus his mind on that now. Not until Saga felt better. Besides, he didn’t believe it was detrimental to their mission. He still had faith that they’d destroy their business despite the change of approach.

He slowly let go of her hand as she leaned in, placing it against her back as he wrapped both arms around her. The gunshot wounds hurt slightly as she pressed against them, reminding him of a pain that he’d been numb to the last minutes. And by now they had healed. However, they would not be able to heal completely until he removed the bullets. And the pain was nothing in comparison to his wish to be there for her. He gently caressed her back as he held her, warming the air around them slightly. They sat like that for a few moments before he pulled back to look at her, thinking that they had to get going. Every moment they stayed there; they’d only be that much more likely to be found by whatever reinforcements the demons had called for. He then adjusted his grip around her to lift her up into his arms and stand up, allowing her to cling on to his body, as he felt how strongly she still did despite him having pulled back. His priority being to get them to safety. “I’m going to take us to your room.” He mostly said this so she was prepared for the teleportation. He figured that was the safest considering that she mentioned the first name of his alias. And they’d need to pack up some of their stuff before finding another location. Besides, could always teleport them away if the demons found them.
Once they appeared in her room, he walked the last few steps to the bed and laid her in it. He then knelt down by her side as he looked at her. His hand finding hers to hold. The warmth he’d provided had helped dry them just a little, but they'd still need to change clothes in order to warm up completely. However, he wasn't going to as much as leave her side until he was assured that she felt better. “How are you feeling?

Saga hadn’t even had her thoughts travel long enough to figure out that if she did like she did - curled up towards him - that he would then automatically embrace her. All she had needed in that moment with the slight contact and closeness she got from learning into him and it had been all she had thought she would get. But then she felt his arms wrap around her drenched body and… and she didn’t hate it. Her stress-tensed body sort of just inflated after the first bodily heat found its way through not only hers, but also his wet clothing. Shoulders fell and relaxed gradually together with air seeping carefully out of her stomach and lungs. She didn’t move any further herself and he allowed her those few moment she truly needed. Moments to just breath and to calm… and to manage the disappointment.
Compared to him and how he probably wasn’t too happy about the outcome she was instead disappointed in herself and didn’t actually think much about the continuing setback. Michael glamour had disappeared; she hadn’t been able to upkeep her magic. The surrounding water had rendered her completely…

He pulled back, and she had no concept of just how long they had sat like that. She did, however, notice how she still refused to remove herself form him. Not even when he started to move around some more, somehow getting his arms under her and lifted her up from the ground, did she raise her chin. And her hand didn’t let go of him, only lightened the iron grip… slightly. But with the nature of how he held her, her head did move from his chest to lay nearer the nape of his neck and collarbone. Her legs, although they dangled rather loosely, both her feet’s insteps were stretched and her toes curled. He… He smelled like warmth. Like green grass on a sunny day. Of course, the smell of the harbour hang over him as much as it did her and as much as it was stuck in her nose from having breathed in all that water. But behind that smell he carried a scent she would be inclined to refer to as ‘comfort’.

She barely took note of the teleport this time around. There was a possibility that it brought the same prickling nausea as the other times but she was just too locked in the state the submersion had left her in. Then being put down, she was still not much for it, but from the out it wouldn’t look like that, since her hand gently let go of his shirt in the same time as he moved to simply be beside her. Maybe it was because a hidden sense had known he would take her hand in his instead only a couple of seconds later.
But the little witch didn’t stay laying down for long. She had only just felt the mattress under her back, Michael’s concerning question having just left his tongue, before she slowly started to sit up again. And the first thing she did was breathe deeply in. Slowly and controlled. Yet the rest of her demeanour was clearly still affected. All her movements was weighted and fatigued, however not weak per se. “I’m fine,” she replied before pausing for a tick of time and then finally turned her head to look at him again and added: “Thank you.” Her initial answer wasn’t truthful but the following appreciating was as rawfully honest as it would get. Her eyes then wandered down over herself. She pulled her knees a little up, gliding her feet along the duvet, and taking in the damaged one to her shins. The water had cleaned the scrapes but now being above, fresh red had started peeping through again. And then there was the burn by her back thigh which she luckily wouldn’t feel much of now with the quick cool down…
“Your knife,” she then uttered where after she started moving herself to instead sit on the edge of the bed instead of feeling helpless laying in it. She was fine. Like she said. Fine meaning she could manage just fine. “I need you do cut the spell behind my ear. It’ll heal me. It should be able to still do it.” She let her hand slide free from his to tug it under her soaking wet hair and carefully moved it back and up to make room for him to do as she wished of him. And as she said; there it was. The same tattoo-looking symbol as she had shown him once before. Placed pretty much the same with the slight sway of it not being the exact same as the one back in august and that it had to be manually drawn on every time. But just as she was about to instruct him in how deep a cut would be necessary her observing eye caught something else and her arm holding the hair back, drifted down again. “You’re bleeding.” Like her own wounds’ bleeding had been hidden by the water thinning the blood out, it had one the same with the bullet wounds and it was only then she began to see the fresh blood colour his white shirt. She didn’t really think when she instinctively reached a hand out. And then she noticed the other holes in his suit. One… two… three..

His worries dimmed as she quickly moved from her lying position. It wasn’t something he’d expect of someone who’d stayed unconscious for a long time, especially when you added the teleportation to what her body had gone through. It was a very good sign. However, concern and compassion were still evident in his eyes as he awaited her reply, thinking that she had to feel unwell despite this. A situation like the one she’d been through wasn’t easily overcome and he didn't know if her damages were worse than the ones visible to her legs. I’m fine. He parted his lips, hesitating as he knew he’d uttered the same line a million times before. But Saga had no reason to undermine the situation. “That’s not true,” he said, tilting his head slightly as he looked into her eyes. He understood that she meant she was fine under the circumstances, and he wasn’t going to pressure her to tell him how she felt if she didn’t want to, but she hadn't appeared the slightest fine back at the harbor.
Her gratitude would under normal circumstances be appreciated. But in this case, he felt to blame for the incident. He had never meant for her to get hurt, and although she knew the risk of that going in, he couldn’t help but think that if he’d stayed by her side or prioritized protecting her, it would have never happened. His gaze followed hers to her shins, assessing her injuries. It looked bad, but the wounds weren't that deep, so he deemed they'd heal quickly on their own. However, the burn on her back thigh was a different story.

Your knife.
His eyes returned to hers, wondering what she’d need his knife for. But when she explained, he gave her a nod and reached his hand to unsheathe it. As she let go of his hand, he rose from his kneeling position to instead stand on the side where the spell was located. And then she let go of her hair, covering up the symbol she'd asked him to cut. “What—You’re bleeding. He lowered his eyes to his shirt, surprised that she hadn’t noticed the wounds before now, but equally at the fresh blood that had appeared. “Yeah, the bullets must have pierced pretty deep, otherwise my healing would have rid my body of them by now.” Or he’d simply removed them himself, let his body heal, and continued on. However, he hadn't had the time for that. “Don’t worry about it. I’ll remove them later,” he added as he looked back at her, dismissing her concern. It was nothing in comparison to what she’d been through and he was so used to enduring far worse pain, that he really couldn't be fazed by three gunshot wounds. He raised his hand to pull her hair back, revealing the spell behind her ear once more. “How deep do I need to cut?” he asked, reverting her attention back to what she’d asked of him, wanting her body to heal as soon as possible.

He said it so nonchalantly that it easily could make one think that he was shot like that on a daily basis. And maybe that was actually the case. The sword fighting of the olden time had long since been switched out with fire arms as a much more convenient weapon of choice. More fool proof as a long distance measure than the art of archery. Anyone could take one in their hand, point and then shoot. She raised her eyes back up from his casual injuries and found his eyes instead while her outreached hand got lowered down to cup the soft edge of the soft bed. Then the corners of her mouth curved into a delicate little smile. Slightly waiving. “You’re an extraordinary people, you angels. Archangels,” she gently spoke. “To shake off having been shot just like that. As if it was simply an irritable itch rather than a painful penetration of metal into your flesh.” In a way it was admirable. If not the way it brought him no threat to his life like it would hers then at the very least how unbothered he seemed about it. She’d still wrench a pained grimace if she moved her flossed legs around too much for air to get to the open scrapes and him… He was still breathing, his chest was still moving up and down as it should and yet… Fascinating.

The little witch automatically tilted her head a little bit to one side as well as turned it for a better angle, as he stroked her wet hair back to re-reveal the small symbol. Even his grazing fingertips gave off that comforting warmth which she so illiberally had been clinging to by the harbor and while his hair and his clothes were as drenched as hers, she had an inkling that his skin was already completely dry. “Just deep enough to draw blood,” she explained and then fell silent again. Licking her lips and tasting the salt on them from the sea water. But then she parted her lips and found her voice again. “The spell already has the magic needed attached. All it needs is the price. And with blood being the closest to life without being life it’s the best payment. The most stable kind too. Especially if it’s my own.”
Saga would just as easily have left it at how deep he’d need to cut. And originally she had wanted it just like that. It was the only thing he’d need to know to do his part. It wasn’t like when she had had to explain the procedure to him when he had been a customer. But she had felt a tuck to say more. Let him know a little bit more. Not because she expected him to want to know more. No. Because she had wanted him to know. It was a very strange feeling for her to have and she could probably blame it upon her current state. She was out of the water, yes. And she was, as she had said, fine. However she wasn’t entirely back to herself. "It's not blood magic." You're not anticipating in such acts by helping.

There wasn’t really any need for her to brace herself to the stinging of the cut of the knife. She still felt the cuts on her body but she was so used to them by now. She had slit sharp blades and slicing magic over her moonpale skin for longer than the whole of a human’s life. It was nothing more than a necessity. Although, she did breathe more honed in as the knife made its cut. And as it did the blackened symbol would start to glow up in a golden light. A rather faint light, far from strong enough to brighten any darkness, but just strong enough to be a noticeable change. Saga’s body tensed up by the activation of the spell as well and a faint groan escaped her throat within the first second.
She decided to close her eyes due to the sensation of the magical healing. It wasn’t anything like what the heavenly kind was like. It wasn’t horrible in any sense, though. It was just more natural. It brought both relief and discomfort as the broken tissue all over her body started to repair itself. The scraped on her legs and other smaller scratches closed up without any traces of scars or discolouration. The skin was like new. Matching the rest of her body. The cut over the symbol disappeared too. And so did the symbol. The magic was used up. This was what she had meant by her tattoos not being actual tattoo back when Michael had asked whether or not she had any. Her markings weren’t anything like the one he carried.
As the magic had done its job and faded off, it was like her body nearly collapsed as it could relax. Shoulders sinking low and her bag slouching. A big sigh left through her rose coloured lips.

Michael disliked it when people compared him to other angels or people in general. In Heaven’s hierarchy he was exalted, often viewed as higher than some of the younger archangels because of his accomplishments. But more so, they all carried different abilities and so it wasn’t fair to compare his immediate healing to that of his siblings. Nor the way they each would react to pain or various injuries. The ones who weren’t soldiers wouldn’t be as used to it as him. In fact, she’d most likely not meet an angel who’d fought in as many wars as him and been harmed in the ways that he had. At the same time, there was no denying that angels were extraordinary beings. But so were the ones gifted with magic. The fact that she had a healing spell attached to her was proof alone. “Be careful with such generalizations. If you see an angel who’s hurt, archangel or not, chances are they’ll need your help.” He felt that this was important to point out in case she thought all angels would be as unfazed as him or survive similar wounds.

Michael listened to her as she explained the spell, although he might not have needed the information, it was still nice to hear that she felt well enough to talk. He raised the blade to the symbol but paused his movement as she added something else. He naturally disproved of all forms of dark magic, but he’d also lie if he said he hadn’t used it before. In fact, that had been his last resort to finding Malachi. The only thing that had worked. “Okay,” he responded as he brought the tip of the blade to the spot behind her ear, carefully cutting into the outline of the symbol until a trickle of blood appeared. “I thought witches couldn’t perform blood magic unless they’d turned dark?” he queried simultaneously with the initial cut, hoping it would create a small distraction. At least, he knew that it was a lot easier for dark witches, not exactly sure how it was for witches who weren't. He watched as the symbol glowed, revealing that the cut had worked before he removed the blade from her skin.
Still keeping her hair swept away from the symbol, he placed the knife back and found a white handkerchief in his jacket. He placed the wet and chill cloth against the cut to dry off the little blood that had shed from it. “How is that?” he asked, removing the handkerchief to check that the wound had healed before he let go of her hair and looked at her face again. His gaze then moved to her legs to ensure that they were healing as well, and once he confirmed this, he felt more at ease. He also trusted that she’d tell him if she’d need anything else. But apart from getting changed, she’d probably just need to rest.

I’ll go take care of this and take a shower,” he said with a small gesture towards his chest. His lips curved up in a faint reassuring smile before he kicked off his shoes and placed them on the tiles near the entrance. Afterward, he stepped into the bathroom and shut the door behind him. He undressed his soaked jacket and shirt, looking at the gunshot wounds in the mirror before he stepped closer to the sink, that way the blood would drip into that rather than the floor. He placed one hand against the marble countertop while he reached his fingers into the first wound to remove the bullet. He gritted his teeth at the pain, placing the golden, bloody bullet on the countertop before he proceeded with the last two. It was something he’d often done. Especially since he usually worked alone. Once the bullets were out, the wounds healed up and the pain vanished with it. He washed the blood off his hands in the sink before he undressed and took a shower, using the hotel’s shampoo and body wash to clean himself off. He turned off the water and wrapped a towel around his waist to dry off his clothes with his ability and get dressed in his boxers, socks, and pants. The only thing about him remaining wet being his hair that he kept in place by running a hand through it. He then opened the door on a small crack, listening for any footsteps just in case she was changing. He figured she’d had plenty of time to do so by now, but wanted to be safe. Once he deemed that she wasn’t alarmed by him being done, he walked out with the bullets and the shirt, throwing them out in a trash can by the desk to discard later. “Are you still feeling fine?” he asked as he stepped closer to her.

”There might be something to that but I’ve come to understand that maybe it’s looked upon as more of a taboo than a criteria. Some aspect of magic tends to demand payment in which it feeds off a witch’s sanity. Especially if the witch didn’t possess the correct understanding of the price of the spell because magic won’t simply stand back as a worker on strike. Magic takes what it deems the price which I’m positive you can imagine the complications of,” she replied and even if the little witch was as aloof and neutral it stills shouldn’t be too difficult to catch on to those tiny and seemingly insignificant tropes to her voice, her voice of words as well as her entire bodily display, that she was speaking of something which had clear interest for her. Not too surprising; a witch interested in magic. Yet for her it wasn’t just that. “I don’t believe that it’s inherently bad. Or dark.” In the end it probably didn’t really answer his question. The overwhelming and uncontrollable panic had taken its toll on her mind and made it easier for her to trail off topic. She claimed to be fine and yet she had somehow turned slightly more meek, something she instead had been disguising as calm reservations.
There had been countless times where she had felt the craving of turning to look to him as she had talked but with his hand still lingering by her neck to keep the curtain of her dripping hair away from the symbol even after he had cut it as instructed, she didn’t feel that she could and instead she had kept her head tilted at the turned-away angle. She could even feel his eyes laying upon the symbol, not expressing any kind of sign that this was any new experience to him. Surely, he had come across that of healing spells such as this one many times before. The moistened chill of the soft fabric, however, took her by a faint surprise and for just a second the lines of her sleek neck tended up again and then relaxed as he wiped the blood and finally gave her room to turn her head towards him. A partially unconscious hand moving up to where the handkerchief had touched. “Better,” she softly responded. At the very least had the spell taken care of her physical injuries. And his concern was discreet healing what was left.

Like her eyes were actually locked upon him, they followed Michael in a precise line the moment he stood up, announcing his next actions. Saga stayed, sitting on the bed, just observing the archangel as he conquered the distance to the bathroom within large determent steps. She had not been quick enough to react to him leaving her to herself. She hadn’t allowed her to do that. He had pointed out her lie and still she had to act on what she had told him.
Eventually she heard the water from the shower being turned on and the slashing of water being pushed through volumes of hair and she turned her attention to her lap before interfering with the line of sight, moving one of her hands in, focusing on that instead. She was still shaking. She didn’t need to actually see it to know it. She could feel it. Deep into her bones. She despised that feeling. It was something completely involuntary, how could she compete with that? She sighed again – this time of content annoyance – before she carefully stood up from the bed to get out of her cold and clammy clothes. And pulling the shirt over her head she simply dropped it with a tired motion onto the bed. Part of her didn’t feel the need for the bath in which she probably could benefit from. If not to wash the sea water off her skin and out of her hair then for the warmth so instead of waiting her turn she simply got dressed in dry clothes.

The door to the bathroom opened up just as Saga pulled a larger white T-shirt – many sizes too big for her frame – over her stripped body where it reached just far enough to cover her like a short dress. Covering what it needed and hanged very comfortably on her. It was an old thing which really only had made the soft material softer from continuing washing. She automatically turned to look towards Michael as he stepped out. This wasn’t the first time she had seen him shirtless like that – although the slicked-back wet hair and over-all freshly cleaned aroma was a first – but she hadn’t expected him like that. Last time she had been the one to orchestrate it. Her eyes unapologetically wandered to his chest, to the markings and then back to his face as he himself came closer to her. Are you still feeling fine? “No,” she said after a bit of time where she contemplated keeping up the half-truth. “Not quite.” Her eyes glided from him to the side where she then picked of the wet shirt she had discarded there and took a couple of steps away from him, turning his back slightly to him as she laid the shirt over the back of the desk chair to dry, not minding putting it over other clothes she had left there. And still not turned towards him or anything she kept going: “I’m aquaphobic. I believe you should probably know at least as much.” She picked at the shirt as if it would make any difference how it laid. “However, it really only alleges itself when I get my head under water. I’d be lying again if I claimed that it didn’t linger some time afterwards.” She finally turned back to look at him, watching him. Confidently. Because if she was to say anything she wasn’t someone to seem unsure of doing so. Never regret anything.
And still she didn’t hold on to the topic for long before she pushed attention to somewhere else.  “Do you need a shirt? One not piled with wholes and in the garbage?” she asked, glancing back down at his naked chest for a bit. He had healed perfectly just how she had attempted to compliment him and failed when he had thought it a generalization of his people. Then she looked over herself and hooked a finger gently in the neckline of her own humble attire. “This might be able to fit you.” She looked back up with an awaiting expression.

I don’t believe that it’s inherently bad. Or dark.
Michael took that in for a moment. He realized that he might have up this imagery of her not being like all witches. That she was better than most he'd met. But in her core, she had the same darkness in her as they all did. There was no such thing as a good witch and he knew this was God’s way of reminding him of that. In Heaven blood magic was dark. It was as simple as that. His judgment had been clouded by emotion the few times he’d used it and he’d repented for those times. It wasn’t a topic they’d ever agree on. Nevertheless, it was always interesting to hear people's perspectives and make them elaborate on their views. And as it happened, he was already very interested to learn more about her. “So, taking away a witch’s sanity isn’t bad?” The effects something like that had on a witch and how dangerous it made them to the rest of the world, was a clear evil to him. But if she considered otherwise, he was curious to hear why.

Once he’d stepped out of the bathroom, he could tell that she wasn’t fine. Nor did he think she had been earlier. But now that their injuries were taking care of, he wanted to give her a second chance to answer his question. And this time she answered truthfully. He didn’t say anything at first, only giving her a subtle nod before he sat down on the edge of the bed, watching her as she folded her shirt over the chair. Her revelation made sense to the reaction he's seen from her, and everyone had fears - irrational or not. It wasn’t something you had much control over. Although he liked to think that he had tamed his own, they never vanished completely. No matter how much he’d pushed them down, they were always going to be a part of his subconscious He appreciated her telling him about it. He understood that it wasn’t easy to confide others with such things. Even if he’d seen the manifested fear with his own eyes, it still wasn’t the same as admitting to having it. At this point, they weren’t exactly strangers anymore, but he wouldn’t consider them close either, so he was only happy to know she felt comfortable enough to talk to him about it. “I’m terribly sorry that it happened.” This was most of all because he knew he could have prevented it. Spared her the trauma and pain. Instead, he had been more focused on his mission than keeping her safe and since he'd been unknowing of this fear, he hadn’t tried to keep her away from the danger of falling into the harbor. “I should have protected you.” He looked towards the windows, thinking how much more danger she was in now that they’d been found out. And although it happened often on these kinds of missions, he had not meant for her to get hurt. Nor to be dragged into his mission to this extent.

Michael followed her glance to his chest when she pulled his attention to it. Then realizing how uncouth it was of him to be shirtless. At least, he thought this earthly standard was the reason she’d pointed it out. He supposed he’d just thought it wasn’t much different from the time she’d worked on his tattoo. He raised himself from the bed as it suddenly felt wrong of him to sit in it. “I’m sorry,” he apologized before he considered whether it’d be safe enough to sneak into his room to fetch a shirt. He didn’t like the idea of leaving her alone, but he didn’t want her to feel uncomfortable either. It seemed that there frequently were people passing the hallway outside, and he couldn’t help but think that one of them had to be looking for him. However, those thoughts were shot down as she offered him her shirt. A puzzled expression appeared on his face before he replied, “No, I couldn’t.” He lowered his gaze to the oversized shirt on her. Even if it was his size, it felt wrong to take from her. Moreover, the thought of her undressing in his presence did nothing except underline the 'no' in that sentence. “Do you perhaps have another one?” he asked, half-surrendering to the idea.

“Everything nibbles at your sanity.” -  “Life especially.”
Although the little witch wouldn’t speak of stuff without personal experience or knowledge, her words didn’t actually come wrapped in any of that. Her delivery was …factual if anything. And it was for the most part also rather conclusive.

___

Saga would like to think that she had the archangel figured out. At least on a surface level. At least enough to have expected this kind of compassion, this action of ultimately blaming himself for what happened to others. It was a beacon trait, that shined forward in anything he did. One could sense it in his voice, his words, expressions. His eyes were the biggest catalyst. And yet she reaction in surprise by it being turned to her and she did lift her eyes, slightly more widened, more straight on at him. It wasn’t that she didn’t believe him, because she did, but a strange sensation dominated. She had been so convinced that there’d be nothing to be sorry for and yet… Why? She sedately folded her lips in a bit and moistened them with her tongue and then when he looked away, getting pulled to the immaculate view past the balcony, she softened the bafflement from her face, shortly looking down but then glanced at him again as she replied: “I’d rather be saved than protected if anything.” And saved, that he had done. She could’ve drowned and for her it wasn’t a question whether her ending up in the water could’ve been avoided. It was like regretting something that had been done. Did he look back at her by the comment, she’d hold his gaze with an adamant stare.

I’m sorry.
He apologies again? However this time instead of naïve bafflement sweeping over her face, her dark brows furrowed in confusion. Because while she only just hadn’t understood why he had apologies to her specifically before - considering - this time she didn’t understand why he had apologies at all. Was there anything to be sorry about regarding the shirt? Ah!
She smiled. She even chuckled a little. “No need to be sorry, Michael. I’m not taking offence to you not being fully dressed. It was simply a logical offer. Walking about without a shirt would catch attention if you’re thinking of wandering the hotel. Especially with this on display.” She gestured to his chest, but more specifically his anti-possession markings. She would imagine demons, which the hotel was assumingly stationed with at every corner, would be attentive to people who actively made and effort to keep them from stealing bodies like that. “We’re here now, but staying here for too long can’t be a good idea, is it?” she asked and now that she thought about it, her attire was probably not a good idea. She looked like someone ready to clock in for the night. Not still on the run. She left him with a last glance, before taking a step back and then turned all the way around with her back turned to him. At the same time she made a gesture towards her suitcase where a familiar piece of clothing got picked up by an invisible force and hovered to her hand, that was ready to grab it.
It was then that she grabbed the bottom of her shirt and in a confidence movement pulled it over her head. Surely he wasn’t actually shy. Michael, the great archangel of Heaven. Besides, Saga wasn’t curvaceous enough that there’s be anything else than her naked back for him to see from his viewpoint. He had seen it before at the gala with how low that back of that dress had drooped, so just how scandalous was it. And within less than 30 seconds, she was dressed again in the same beige number she had worn the other day. She turned back around with the T-shirt in hand, and gently threw it on the bed right next to where he stood. “In case you change your mind, it’s there.” Better safe than sorry..

Her reply only confirmed that their views wouldn't ever align. Not regarding that. It wasn’t just one’s sanity that was taken. Performing dark arts harmed one’s morals as well. It made witches give in to their unholy nature, which added to the evil that he needed to fight. And magic had always been one of the things that could weaken him the most, so it was no wonder that he usually avoided witches. However, he said nothing. Now wasn’t the time to start such discussion and her words had been rather conclusive. Truthful too. Life changed a person - especially their mentality and emotions. Sometimes it didn’t take more than the meeting of a single person to change it, and other times, it took a while. But in the end, most things influenced you in one way or the other.

He returned his gaze to her, thinking that there wasn’t such a big distinction between the words. If anything, he preferred to protect people from danger rather than save them from it. He’d far too many times lost friends and loved ones in a situation where he’d needed to save them but had come too late. He lifted in the crease of his mouth, appreciating how she took it all. But he still wouldn’t blame her for wanting to take the first flight back to Gaia. It was what most people would want to do.

He immediately realized that she’d asked out of politeness. Her chuckle bringing a smile upon his lips. “Right,” he agreed as he moved his eyes to the side of the door. He’d need to cover up if he went outside, but he could always teleport and take one of his own shirts. Regardless, he’d need to pack up his weapons and research before they went anywhere. “No, we can’t.” He looked back at her just in time to see her pull the shirt over her head which automatically made him turn his body and look away. She might not see him in the way that most women would when undressing in the same room as a man. But he was still one, so even though he’d only gotten a brief glance of her figure, it still managed to make him all flustered. He exhaled as he stared at a painting on the wall, trying to distract his mind. “I might have an acquaintance we can stay with until this blows over.” It seemed like their safest bet. As she spoke again, he grabbed the shirt on the bed and pulled it down over his head. It was a number too small, but it didn’t fit him much different than some of his undershirts. “Let me just grab a few things from my room and then we’ll go,” he informed as he made his way to the door, only to pause at the sight of white smoke flowing through the floor crack of the doorframe. He stepped backward, only to realize he’d already inhaled some of the gas, making him instantaneously dizzy. He placed his hand on the table as he passed it before he fell to the floor and everything turned black.

Once he awoke, it was easy to guess how they'd found him. His aura had been their beacon. He’d needed to renew the effect that suppressed it, and he figured it must have run out on their way back to the hotel. He sighed, wanting more than anything to just annihilate the building and its demons. Their dark energy reminded him of Hell, and there was never a time where he wanted to be reminded of that. Besides that, he was angry, hating himself for letting things get to this, for screwing up to this degree.
He didn’t feel the least disorientated as he woke up. And he was sure he hadn’t been out for that long. But it had still been enough for them to successfully trap him. The first thing he did was look for Saga, but it seemed that he was alone in the room with the demons. He turned his gaze ahead of him again at a door that seemed to be the only real escape route out.

Quite a long time passed – one hour… then two hours... - leaving Michael for himself with his thoughts to wonder just what had actually happened to his companion. It probably wouldn’t even be easy to catch on to her presence since it for the most parts fell into the same unholy lines as the demons, but perhaps the great archangel’s senses were still sharp enough to sense the inkling of her just before the door finally opened up with such an abruption that it nearly slammed into the wall, had it been just a tad bit lighter.

The first one in was a male demon, awfully familiar, except for the fact that he seemed to have dried off and gotten into some new clothes since his spontaneous dip in the ocean with Saga. The next one in stumbled on her feet as she got rather aggressively pushed inside. Black short hair now more or less dry as well but very messy, as if it had been tugged at and ruffled by not the kindest of manners. The little witch almost fell but managed to regain her balance before slamming her naked need into the hard floor of the room. And finally, did she lift her head to let those ocean blue eyes met up with Michael. Semi-dried up blood by the corners of her mouth and down her chin stood in clear contrast to her moon pale face but besides that, she looked… fine. Considering how fast witches could potentially heal naturally, if was hard to tell how many bruises had subsided before their reunion. But she stood up fine. Same defiant confidence in her posture. Behind her another demon appeared, but they remained in the doorway. “Diviértete, amigos,” the familiar shadow demon loudly exclaimed with an arrogant joy in his voice, making Saga turn slightly around to look in his direction and see him join his partner in crime on the other side of the doorstep before closing the heavy door shut once again.

Only moment after being left without supervision, a soft sound could be heard, as the robes, which had held Saga’s own hands securely trapped on her back, fell to the grown and she allowed herself a second to rub the sore wrists. The knot had mysteriously been tied up instead of her having simply shimmied the rope off her small hands.
Then her gaze returned to Michael as she hurried over to him. Worry having been painted onto her face. Who would know what had happened to him while they had been apart? He healed even faster than she! And he was the main threat for the demons. Saga was just a sidekick. She didn’t know enough to use much effort on her. “Their intelligence don’ particularly match up with what you’d expect from the gross of their operation,” she quietly commented. “Are you alright?” Stopping shortly right in front of him, she made sure to lock eyes with him as if she’d noticed immediately if he dared lie to her. Waited for his response before she moved further around him, glancing at the door one more time and then leaned over the tight, magically enforced restrains keeping him sat in the chair. Skillful, dainty fingers started their search for the right end to pull at to tie him up but just as one would think she had figured it out: “But they aren’t as stupid as you, Michael.” With an abnormal strength, which Saga hadn’t shown before, the ropes got tightened even more than they were before. Painfully tight. “Alejandro didn’t think the gas would actually work on you but look at you! It worked a charm. And now I get to have a little fun with you. I hope you don't mind.” The ropes were tightened some more, the initial tightening hadn’t satisfied her enough.
